I am on 45.3.5 and I'm rooted, is there any way to manually push the OTA?

I'm also having the same problem... Only I'm running a mac so that link is worthless to me.

Update via wifi. It will show right up
Not quite... I downloaded it and tried but the update fails. Can't figure out how to get the detailed error message people have shared about it.

Go back to build 154_5 by flashing via RSD and try updating again.

When it gets to the Android guy and progress bar hold down both volume up and down at same time.
Just an FYI....according to the Motorola Forums there is an issue with the latest update which isn't allowing some to take it successfully, even if unrooted/stock. Sounds like there is a fix in the works. Best bet is to either do the SBF or flash to older stock and try the to take the update.
**Edit.....tried flashing to Juggs update.zip (154_5) and still couldn't take the pushed update which tells me there might be something wrong on Moto's end. Anyways, gonna SBF to 154_5 just to make sure and then try again. If official doesn't take gonna SBF to newest version (same thing anyways).
**Edit #2...SBF'd back to 154_5. Was able to take both updates pushed to the phone successfully and am now on 198_6.
Thanks CCallahan, glad someone knows what they're talking about. I guess I will have to wait for the next one, don't want to fuss with ROM flashing.

Ive been reading news on this new 4.1.83 update. Im currently on 4.1.57 and tried to do the update but it wont work!!! I turned wifi on and went to settings>about phone>system updates but nothing shows up! IT says my phone is up to date! WTF!
Relax man. I am in the same boat. Looks like we are just going to have to be patient.

im going to cry! :.(
just flash it. look for it somewhere here on XDA.
thats what i did before i returned my atrix for a new one.gonna do that again tonight.
Go to the Motorola support website and download the updater app. You can do a manual install through the pc. The update requires a massive download.

Yeah there's a link in the general section to the latest rom. Use rsd.

I was trying to flash shabbys kernel and I installed the CWM Bootstrap. It went well untill It came With a message saying "fail to boot 2 starting RSD mood". I was rooted stock with Bootloader lock. Any help please?

Flash the mr5 sbf.
Sent from my Motorola Photon 4g
Just for others info, I believe you need a full cwm with unlocked bootloader in order to be able to flash kernels.
Yes you do. The bootstrap will only work with the P-Rom's like Laser, once you unlock bootloader you do need the custom CWM. Which is what I ended up having to install. Works good though. :]
What is the best way to flash mr5? Is there a guide? Thanks In advance

Im glad that all the devs put up indepth guides for all of us noobs to follow along with, especially the ones where they skip steps that we all should know by this point!

Follow those steps......Then when RSD asks to manually power up the phone do a battery pull and when powering back up HOLD THE VOLUME DOWN KEY till it boots into recovery. Then scroll down with the volume down key to "boot Android (no BP)" hit the volume up key. Let it do its thing. You should be up and working again.
These are the steps I used last night to solve the EXACT SAME problem you have....My device is now working again I just have to reactivate it when I take the loaner phone back later.

Most of it is cuz us noobs want to try stupid **** to see what we can get away with. That is why I did what I did yesterday, I was about 95% sure it would cause a problem but I chose to do it anyway.
So I have a new problem after restoring my device. Now I can't install any new apps from the market.every time I get the message "can't install ____ due to insufficient space on phone" of am at work now but I an gonna try to figure this out tonight.
Every time i plugin my phone It rellano me that battery is too low to flash. How do i charge It? It turns on every time to the fail to boot message

And I am all fixed!!
To the OP try plugging it in with the phone off for a while and see if that works for ya.
Took it to Sprint and they gave me a new phone thank you for the info.

Running latest ota rooted. When i do an update check it doesn't give the no updates available message, just returns to the check/status screen. I did ruu the 3.14 update but not the 4.0 one. Just thought it was weird since i normally get a message saying no updates avail.

This happened to me a while back, rebooting the phone fixed it.
Same after 2 reboots. Hope it gets future updates.
Same thing happens to me, even after a full reboot. Maybe it's a network thing.

Are you running a custom recovery? I've heard if you are on amon ra or similar recovery and not stock, then it won't let your phone update. Also if your HTC dev unlocked is another blocker. Must be stock to get ota's.

I'm actually totally stock.

Ditto
Mine is doing the same thing now. Stock, S-on.
stock rooted. well, not too worried then, as long as it isn't just me.
Im curious because it popped up on my phone and i dont want to lose root or brick my phone or any issues i read that are occurring. VZW got me on my tbolt a couple yrs ago and it got stuck bootlooping they pushed the update when iwas sleep and that almost happened last night with my dna, i hought devs remove the ota in the roms
I'm on viper rom, and the latest update for that rom stops updates. Don't know about other roms.
If you have a custom recovery (clockwork or twrp) I don't think the update from Verizon will even work, but your phone may still attempt to do the update.

Pull down your notification bar and click Settings, then Apps, Running Apps, then select HTC Settings (I think. It will have a green sync icon.) and click stop.

OTA
After it downloads you should be able to Defer the update until 2/24. I do not know yet if you can continue to Defer the update after 2/24, but it will at least give you some time to Flash a Custom ROM that will turn off OTAs.
You can just flash the zip by nitsuj its a mod to stop this

So this morning the Easter bunny left me a present... My AT&T LGOG says software update available. Does anyone know if the bunny dropped off Jellybeans or just another egg?
I was trying to get a screenshot of the useless message, but the update tried to install and the phone rebooted. Then the firmware update screen reported a failure. After reboot my phone still works on ICS. I'm going to take a backup now and be safe as long as the update doesn't update recovery/bootloader...
Turns out my screenshot worked after all.

It's just the E97011c update people got back in December ...
What are the changes?
Got the same update notification but when I tried to install it, gave me a error message because I'm rooted. Was hoping it will be jellybean.
-Sans143
It isn't I woke up and installed it hoping it would be JB, turns out it is a minor update to 11c that was handed out to a lot of people in December.

Yes, I updated mine over my home WiFi
Can confirm OTA update fails if rooted and unlocked, even from stock ROM.

Was just wondering that. My E970 is rooted on the stock ROM. Doesn't seem like the update does anything useful.

were you rooted? If so, did you lose root or anything else for that matter?
Darn
Darn, I was thinking it would have been quite funny if AT&T released a candy named update on a holiday associated with said candy...
Yep, I am still on 10o so this is just the step to 11c.

Yes. Can you re-root it?
I'm on stock & rooted. Not unlocked.
Update notification went off this morning; read some of this thread; told it to let me know again in 8hrs.
Just went off again, I said ok, whatever, told it to update. It rebooted, & now it's just sitting there at the white, "rethink possible" screen.
Key combo reboot actually got it into the "software update" screen, but that then error'd at 1% complete. Error was something like, "01X03fed." It disappeared too quickly while I was typing this. Rebooted again, fully this time, and a, "Installation interrupted" warning is showing.
Hopefully the update notification will be gone, too...
