Hey Guys,
You may want to know about the performance of the extended battery from mugen 3600mah and from ebay so called 3600mah (white+red+yellow). Here is my observataion and just wanna share with you my feelings:-
I got a GS2 and a EVO3D, purchased one mugen battery and 2 ebay batteries for my GS2; also purchased 2 3600mah battery from ebay. they are from the same China manufacturer and thus the prices are similiar.
Outlook:-
The mugen cover is really awesome, fit and with imprinted figures, however if you use ebay battery, the mugen cover cannot fit in, its tailor made for its battery only!
The ebay cover is also fit to the body, surface smooth. u can use both ebay battery and mugen battery.
Performance:-
Mugen battery can last for 3x hours something with juice defender
Ebay battery can last for nearly 24 hours with juice defender
both are under heavy usage in internet browsing and texting
Price:- Buy 1 mugen can buy at least 8 ebay battery
Charging time:- Mugen battery takes longer to fully charge
i would say the battery from ebay is not fully 3600mah, i think its abt 3000mah, assuming mugen give you the true figures.
For me, I would no doubt to purchase evo 3d battery from ebay, and the finishing of the cover is top fit to evo 3d, make it more durable! and now my evo 3d can last at least 24 hours, for sure sufficient to heavy usage guy. someone said i'm taking a soap out, but for me, it shows much handsome and durable, its worth.
Buy 1 original htc 1730 mah battery can buy 4 3600mah ebay battery, why not?
Up Time is irrelevant really, as we don't know how the phone was used. To give everyone a better idea of the battery's performance, also post Awake Time along with Up Time.
Other important information is what rom/kernal you're using, and if you're overclocking, underclocking, etc...

Mike, you are right, i use stock rom from Taiwan, rooted, no overclock etc, I'm a user, test the 2 batteries under the same circumstances, same numbers of software, same user preference. my view is subjective enough. Trust or not is your call.
A universal way to judging batteries is screen on time..
How much hours was the screen on for each bettery in your tests?
Mugen is a rip. Way too expensive and didn't last as long as China 3500mah with smooth flat cover

I got one of these 2 days ago, and all i can say is excellent, its on sale right now for $29.99 from $59.99
my battery has not dropped below 50% as yet which is good for me as i burn thru the regular battery in less than 4 hours.
The rear case isnt to hideous neither, says 3d and has a texture, very comfortable, great fit and grip
well worth a shout, i had the seido extended battery and this last longer so far
http://www.accessoryswamp.com/3500mah-extended-life-htc-evo-3d-battery.html
i can take pictures of my phone sporting the case if anyone wants to see
Not too bad. I like the battery cover a lot more than my seidio extended.
You say its lasting longer than your seidio, is that the 3500 or the 4000 mah?
Sent from my HTC Evo 3D on MetroPCS 1x...
the 4000mah, ive had a couple of seidio`s before and they seem to not be fully truthful with there batteries and MaH, and the cover i quite like over the seidios, plus my phone is flashed to cricket so its always searching for a decent signal and 3g, this battery has been great
That looks exactly like the gorilla gadgets one.
http://gorillagadgets.com/htc-evo-3d-extended-life-battery-3400-mah.html
One says 3400, the other says 3500......hmmm
have to disagree
I own both the accessoryswamp battery and the one from seidio. While the AS might be a decent option if cost is an issue, I have to strongly disagree with the assertion that it lasts longer than the seidio. First of all, the seidio is noticeably larger, which fits with its claim of being 4000mah. I don't have a device that measures mah, so can't verify anything on that front, but from my experience, the AS battery lasts about 1.5x as long as the OEM battery, I have found so far that the seidio lasts about 3x as much. I also found that the back for the AS, while I preferred its style/feel, broke within the first few days of me having it (luckily AS replaced it). So if cost is not a big issue and you just want the most powerful/long-lasting battery available, go with the seidio. If you just want something that will have noticeable kick beyond the OEM but don't wanna shell out the premium, go with AS (or even gorillagadgets since they're a couple bucks cheaper and have been around longer)....just my 2 cents!
All i can say is once my battery was conditioned it out lasts the seidio, but thats my experience.
Seidio have been more than guilty of putting false MAH ratings on the products they sell, just go look it up
anyways, its a good battery, well worth the $30 delivered

Nice one.
But no, I wasn't using google at all, I was just browsing their site at-a-glance. Used to seeing tidy/user friendly sites in general for products (at least based on phone model). I only trust a product as much as I trust the website that is presented on.
Here is the link, but you're all on crack if your paying $100 for a battery.

Ah thank you. But no I'm not paying that much for a battery. Especially since I've been using the phone for barely a week now.
Also, since it replaces the back cover of the phone I'm a little bit skeptical. I'd rather just buy a spare from motorola when the prices drop (couple of months from now?)
Photon Battery
3500 mah batteries and covers have surfaced on ebay. I've order one, hopefully it will be OK. I searched on "Photon battery".
Dude saw that 3500 extended battery on e bay....can you take pictures of it after you get it? I want to see how much bigger the phone is after you attach it.

Honestly I would go for something just a little higher in the mAh department than stock without having to add a ginormous back plate.
Agreed.

Seidio has their extended life battery available, but I think it's like $80 as well. Has anyone confirmed or denied if the Atrix battery works with the Photon? Since I heard some place it was 1900 mah.
atrix doesnt work but the driod 3 battery does
id be interested to see what kinda quality the cover is. the seidio one i had on my evo was too fast and easy break. after a few battery pulls from my flashing needs, that dang cover had snapped tabs.
The photon has one heck of a grip on the battery cover and it would be hard for me to swap that out for a extended battery one that is week and not fitting as good as stock.
I vote to have an extra battery in the briefcase or a little solar charger unit that holds charge if you plan to be away form a wall plug for extended times.
I get over 20 hours with my stock battery, rarely is there not a charger around me. and if i dont have a charger around for that long of time, i normally have my phone off bc i dont want to hear from the world then (hunting, fishing, on the lake)
Do we know the specs on tge Droid 3 battery?

very good battery that gets my evo through two days with no problems, the battery cover has never been an issue for me you just have to be careful and not apply too much force. Fit quite well on my evo.

when you consider that a 1650 mah battery from motorola costs 49 dollars a quality extended battery with 3600 mah isnt all that expensive. These batteries provide freedom from carrying chargers and extra batteries around. Mugen makes high quality extended batteries and give you the power you pay for which is more than can be said for cheapo chinese batteries on ebay, some of which dont even provide the power they advertise. You get what you pay for.
---------- Post added at 04:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:55 AM ----------
Both Mugen and Seidio Extended batteries are a great buy. They free you from carrying a charger around or extra oem batteries and having to worry about charging them throughout the day.
The motorola photon battery costs 49 bucks, dont expect the price to go down.
At 3600mah and 3500 mah respectively, these extended batteries will last you two full days without charging with heavy phone use, texting and some web browsing.
While these batteries do ad some bulk to your phone I have found them to be very handy. Having used batteries from both companies on my Evo and other phones, the added bulk is not a problem at all and actually makes it easier to handle the phones. The only disadvantage is that you will not be able to use cases on your phone. That problem is easily solved by buying a pouch with a beltclip and store your phone in that. With my evo I use a belt clip pouch from best buy.....24 bucks. Seidio usually makes extended cases that will fit phones using their extended batteries.

Hello Guys
when i was surfing on Ebay i came to know that a polymer battery for our Evo 3D, as in the link below
http://orders.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ImportHubViewItem&itemid=270829458051
so guys is this worth for money and will give a better performance than a standard Li-ion battery?
please Advise me
Thanks in Advance
Currently I am using a 2000mAh Li-ion brought from Ebay, fits without extented back door(installed today on my EVO 3D)
I will update its performance soon
below i have attached the images of that 2000mAh battery(Li-ion)
cost: $25 includes shipping
That is a Seidio battery. The pT brand you see on the packaging is what all the items that they make for Best Buy is branded. There is absolutely no difference in the cases/batteries that say Seidio or pT. I'm not positive, but i think that battery is cheaper from either Best Buy or Seidio. I believe that's how much their 4000mah battery is, or close to it. You can check either websites and find the price though. Personally I'd rather buy from Best But instead of eBay. 30 day, no questions asked, return policy. You're not gonna get that with eBay, and even if you do it won't be as easy as Best Buy would be.... just my thoughts...

Oh, didn't see the pics of the other batteries earlier. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that Galilio battery is more like a 1200-1400mah battery. I have 4 in my desk at home, 2 have never been used. The best batteries that fit under the stock door are Anker and Chichitec. Both are rated at 1900mah and definitely outlast the stock battery. They are identical in performance and are shipped from California. I have the Anker brand myself. You can get 2 batteries and an external charger for under $30 shipped from eBay. If searching for Anker, search "Sensation Anker battery". Sensation and Evo 3D use the same battery, not sure why Anker doesn't outset them for the 3D also. If you look there are a few threads on these batteries with nothing but good reviews and everyone says they outlast stock. Good luck, and sorry about your Galilio purchase, but there aren't bad to put back for emergency situations

There is no difference in performance between Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer. The advantages of Li-ion polymer over the lithium-ion design include potentially lower cost of manufacture, adaptability to a wide variety of packaging shapes, reliability, and ruggedness. They can also be dangerous. When punctured, Li-Po batteries react quickly by smoking and causing large fires.

Lol, they are fine for back ups, would rather trash a crappy battery than my charger cable, fits in the pocket better too
But for how cheap they are they are worth it, I got 3 galilio batteries as pictured above for 14.99 free shipping...
Even at a total of 2600-2800mah total that should outlast the stock battery np, I bought them knowing what they were with no issue, cheap batteries for a cheap price, but they work

Very true! Like I said, my Galilio batteries stay in my desk at home most of the time. Although, I do use them for emergency situations. Today is a perfect example. I left home in Georgia, Friday evening, to come down to Jacksonville Florida for the Bulldogs vs Gators game. Left my hotel early this morning to tailgate before the game and just got back to the hotel a few minutes ago. I was using my phone very very heavily for photos, videos, internet, games, calls, texts, basically everything. I carried my Galilio batteries in my pocket today just in case I used up my Anker batteries and stock HTC battery. I didn't have to use them, but it was nice to be able to do what ever I wanted with my phone today with out having to worry about conserving battery life. The Galilio batteries definitely served their purpose today!!!!

went to the real mugen power website, checked on the extended battery, it is out of stock, you can order but wont receive until november
ordered my seidio extended battery for the photon 4g it will arrive tomorrow. there are a few counterfeit mugen websites on the web so be careful, mugen power batteries are quite good.
as for cheapo chinese batteries you get what you pay for, many chinese batteries are labeled with exaggerated claims as to their mah rating, several of these batteries have been found to be no larger than the standard ones containing weights to make them feel authentic, never trust chinese knockoff batteries, some will also damage your device and some have been known to catch fire, saving a few bucks on a cheap chinese battery that saves you a few bucks today and ends up costing you your device.......suddenly not soo cheap anymore you know the old saying....you get what you pay for
When I first saw this post, I was all over it until I saw the extended door. I do not want any battery (or accessory for that matter) that adds size or weight to the device. With that said, for my and other members knowledge, will it fit in car dock?

I find extended batteries dont add that much bulk and actually make the evo and now my photon easier to handle, most people who try an extended battery for a week tend to keep them and love them, you'll just have to find a diffferent case to carry your phone in, easily solved at best buy or other stores that sell generic cell phone cases for phones with larger screens. As noted before, this battery is extremely light compared to the evo's extended battery, I was surprised really. As for a car dock? not sure if the extended would work or not, but you could always use the regular battery for that purpose and swap out the extended when not using in the car dock. These batteries WILL get you through a day, people tend to complain about the bulk havent tried one and lets face it, your carrying extra **** now ..........another standard battery or a charger and charging it up throughout the day or in the car, extended batteries free you from that burden. if you dont like it you have 30 days to return it if you buy it from seidio, best buy also sells seidio products so the battery may show up their, the retail packaging at best buy does not bear the seidio name but they carry the seidio extended battery and several of their cases, very fancy packaging, certainly not rocketfish lol.

that battery on ebay is a chinese knockoff, I wouldnt trust it, also look at the back cover, the speaker grill looks like it will obscure sound, I highly recommend the seidio extended battery for the business man who needs extra power, ebay batteries seldom live up to their claims, I have taken some apart to find that they have no more cells or fewer cells and power than a standard battery, some of these can also damage your phone, seidios battery is only 69 dollars, thats twenty bucks more than a genuine standard motorola battery and you get 3500 mah instead of 1600. when it comes to after market batteries I only trust mugen power and seidio ( beware of counterfeit sites imitating mugenpower) the seidio extended fits the phone perfectly, much better speaker grill, had to turn my volume down, mugeenpower batteries are generally good with fit and finish as well. at the official mugen power batteries site you will find that these batteries are currently not in stock, only the counterfeit sites have them "in stock" so heads up if you go with mugen, the official site says you can order but will not be shipped intil november 4th.

Battery circle might help. I've heard problems with the photon not reading battery percentage correctly. That was on the seidio battery tho. It would stay at 1% for like 5hrs. Any issues with the mugen one?

Just got my 3600 Mugen Power extended battery last night. Came 100% charged out of the box. I love this thing and can tell it is quality built. Phone actually feels better in the hand with it as opposed to with stock battery & cover. I'm running CM9 Alpha ICS (not so great with battery consumption) but my phone lasted 12 hours with heavy use. Still need to break it in too (instructions said 4 to 5 100% to 0% runs)!
Also got my battery indicator to calibrate with it as well...
Here is the trick: You must charge the extended battery to 100%, power off device, boot into recovery and then wipe battery stats and reboot phone. Leave the phone on until the battery drains totally dead and the phone shuts off automatically because of it. After this charge the phone back to 100% without removing it from the charger (took 4 hours for me) and enjoy, you're now calibrated to the extended battery.
Nice I just got the trexcell one off Amazon. Reviews were good. If it is crap then at least it was cheap lol. I over night it. Should be here tomorrow

You said it actually feels better in hand, I'm sure the added weight has to do with that. What about pocket size though? Is it a pain to get in and out of a pair of jeans? Just flashed CM 7.2 and I'm doing the whole calibrate thing. I hope what you detailed works, good thing I've got all day to play with it and run it down from 100% to 0 before I have to go out with it tomorrow.
I know some of you are keeping track of the weight of different batteries to see if there's anything heavier than the stock battery which would presumable indicate more battery life.
I have access to a highly accurate gram scale so I thought I would post some info here for the folks looking for it.
49.288 grams = Stock Samsung 2500mah Battery
49.313 grams = Ebay "Gold" 3000mah Battery
48.710 grams = Anker 2700mah Battery
Now for my opinion...
The Ebay Battery seems to be pretty much be the same as the stock battery in terms of useful life. The Anker Battery does seem to last a tiny bit longer however..
I would guess the extra weight of the Ebay vs Stock is due to the foil sticker on the Ebay battery as it feels slightly thicker.
I really don't think there is a stock sized battery out there that lasts much longer than the stock battery. If it did exist you can be sure that Samsung would make it and sell it to you as an accessory for $50. And honestly i'd pay $50 for a real 2900-3000 mah battery that fit under the stock battery cover.
If you want a tiny bit extra (Around 15 minutes screen on time) then the Anker 2700 is the best i've found so far, but just by a tiny margin. I average about 3 hours of screen on time with the stock battery.
Here's the link for the Ebay "Gold" Battery

And the Anker 2700

First, thanks for sharing your data... a batteries weight (given the fixed volume) correlates well with its potential capacity. The battery aftermarket is flooded with extraordinary capacity claims most of which have little or no bearing on reality...
Second, the Ankor battery has received some good subjective reviews and your info seems to support them. Have you used it long enough to comment on how it's performance has held up over time?

I wish I could find the link where a member dissected his battery and found there to be filler in place of where battery should have been. I remember it being a Hyperion battery and it supposedly being the same Ma/h as stock. I think the final conclusion was it was an 1800ma/h pack, with filler to make it weigh close to stock. That kind of crap is sooo shady.

Now I remember why those batteries went in the trash a couple days ago, they did not last long

The Gold ebay 3000mah battery has held up well and its pretty good quality construction, even though its really just a 2500mah battery.
The Anker doesn't have enough cycles on it yet to be able to tell...

Omniphil, appreciate the reply, no hurry on the Ankor info; if you find it holds up to day in an day out use, I'd sure be interested.

+ 1 Hyperion = trash.
I remember that post, I had already weighed the Hyperion by that time and found it was a full 10 grams less than the stock. So. while I wasn't surprised by his findings, I was... Extra disgusted....
I went back over the post, but I didn't find that the battery was padded for weight but only for volume...in a sad way kind of a shame.. I think I would have had a little more respect for the scam if Hyperion had at least gone to that much trouble.
