[SOLVED] Boot Sound? (X10 Mini) - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Is it possible to put a boot sound on the x10 mini?

Yes, mincm7 v17 has a boot animation with sound. I would imagine the sound file becomes part of the boot animation zip file and is commanded from the script.

These are some easy script, install it from CWM
1. change [android_audio.mp3] inside the zip file, /system/media, with any mp3 files that you like but must rename it to android_audio.mp3
2. you can also set a delay when will the bootsound start to play, the example is 3 seconds delay (you can change it by edit /system/bin/bootsound )
3. there is also another automatic script to turn off bootsound
PS: use 7z to edit contain of the zip file, using click and drag.
EDIT: it's for X10 mini / minipro running android 2.3, haven't tested in 2.1 or 2.2

[TUT] Change Boot Animation in racht's CM6 Floyo 0.25

EDIT: BOOTANIMATION ENABLED IN CM6 0.30, Directory moved to system/media
The boot animation in CM6 floyo-0.25 by racht had been disabled.
To enable it, follow these simple steps... or Se-Lifestyle
This is the ONLY way to enable it and ONLY for ROMs which bootanimation was disabled in build.prop
Thanks deedii for confirming the boot animation's location.
(Use root explorer)
1. Edit build.prop.
Go to /system/build.prop in root explorer.
Long press the file and choose "open in text editor"
Go to the last line and u will see:
Code:
debug.sf.nobootanimation=1
change it to:
Code:
debug.sf.nobootanimation=0
Do the same for /system/bin/build.prop
Root explorer will automatically backup the files for u with the name "build.prop.bak"
Note: -You can also copy the file to sdcard, connect to pc via usb, edit in notepad, save, replace the edited one with the original one.
-Not sure the 2 files are same, for safety, do them individually.
2. Upload boot animations.
Put the bootaniamtion.zip into:
/data/local/
(!) /system/media/ will not work
(!) make sure the boot animation is correctly made.
3. Reboot and done!
About how to make boot animation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1096068
Important notes u have to know : http://se-lifestyle.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=5947
Both build.prop's are the same. At least in MiniCM and Froyobread. I have't done any editing using Racht's ROM

i dont think it will work as the boot animation is disabled in build.prop
even build.prop editor cannot enable it, must do manually.
otherwise the app u mentioned can edit the build.prop?

im not sure. this topic is for racht's floyo 0.25 only.
Other ROMs maybe use /system/media/ directory, dont have to enable bootanimation as its not disabled.
Also you can test bootanimation in adb shell by typing this:
# cd /system/bin/
# bootanimation

the command cd /system/bin/
so the bootanimation.zip has to be in bin folder? or media folder? or data/local folder?

No it will run correct in use bootanimation so if you disable bootanimation like in your tut it will run it from /data/local/
I only get the part0 animation showing but not the part2 on floyo.025. I used 9 png images for part1. Seems that there's no time after the 3 png's in part0. Black screen and then comes the initial PIN request. Checked for .db files left in but none exist

Yap, I don't understand what's the point of this too
On 2.3.4 I have sound only when unlocking not when locking screen so because of that I made this post if someone is missing sound like on 2.3.3 firmware. If you considering this is waste of time keep it to yourself. There is some people who like to have lock and unlock sound.

We must have to flash it through cwm and then edit the build.prob.
If we move all the files to their respective location then while moving files to system/framework the framework.apk will be replaced and then it will start force close the rootexplorer and we wont be able to set its permission to 644!! Thus framework will get changed and we will be unable to change its permission and also we cant open setting and many other things that are framework dependent!!! finally we need to factory reset or reinstall the rom!
It happened with me so I'm warning you!!!
So just flash the file then after edit the build.prob using cwm as this app integration needs to replace the framework!!

Nooo the files NO COPY WITH ROOT EXPLORER
you had to place files in the zip of your rom , on your pc with winrar.
And copy on your sd card and reinstall the rom
NO in your phone with root explorer!!!!,
heh? cm7.2.0 _has_ possibility to use the hardware keyboard...
just go to settings - phone settings and set your keyboard layout...
otherwise: I tested your package content but all I got was the same like what I already use... sum key also does not work. I guess to get this work you need a certain app, I currently don't have identified I also think there are more dependencies.
Yea but some on fpx 111 this opcion has been delete

I can't add sound to my bootanimation, I have a Xperia "U". In /system/etc i haven't got "PowerOn.wav", however I put my downloaded wav file in that folder, and i have called "PowerOn.wav". Nevertheless it doesn't work.

What I have to do to make it work? How do I have to modify my file? Ty.

Hi
Please when creating mp3 file the file name must be bootanim.mp3 and make sure when you put it in the bootanimation.zip file use the store option for the compression method and to add images just replace the *.jpg files in the part0 folder in the bootanimation.zip file also. your file names for the images must be in sequence eg. image01.jpg, image02.jpg etc...
