How to get HTC lockscreen back? - HTC EVO 3D

Anyone know what's wrong? I rooted my phone (htc method if it matters), installed a sense ROM, got root explorer, removed HTC lockscreen from system/app, and now I want it back. I tried putting it back, rebooted, and it still isn't working. I try to install but the installation fails. Please help?

Just wipe cache/dalvik and reflash the ROM. All your stuff will still be there but the lockscreen files will be rewritten

I am running a custom rom and put the original weather lockscreen apk into system apps, changed the permissions, but it still doesn't show in my lockscreens, it shows 6 instead of 7. All I am trying to do is get back the original weather wallpaper.

Doing what I said to the OP above should set you straight as well.

Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk

If you do what joehunni said you should be good. Just wipe cache and dalvik/cache and reflash the rom. That will put all your stock system apps back to where they need to be.

It just uses t9 to find contacts, like the sense dialer does also. Right?

Mind sharing what the issue was with flashing through recovery? I didn't have any issues in testing.
Edit: NVM, just saw that you're running a different device. That would make sense as to why then. =)
didnt work for SGS RC4.2

um... what phone do you have? You realize this is a EVO 3D thread? Try pulling the apps out of the zip and either ADB push them to /system/app/ or use a file explorer to move and replace your current ones. If you move them using your phone, make sure the permissions are correct. rw-r--r--

These are system apps, so you cannot just install them like a regular app, or it will fail every time. Like I said above, either ADB push them or use an app like root explorer. If you use a app, make sure permissions are correct, or else they might crash.
Hope that helps.

Copy into /system/app with file manager (I use ES), reboot.
It will appear in app drawer.
Or do you want some older one, from gingerbread?

Remember if you push any apps/mods manually with root explorer to the system folders to set the right permissions.
You could end up with alot of errors otherwise.

Why we could get alot of errors when changing the file in the system when we're doing it right?
If theres an error then either we fix it or do a restoration. thats why always do BACKUP.

[Q] Porting apps from ICS to JB?

The title pretty much explains my question. I would like to port apps from the Sony-ified stock ICS to Cm10. Any ideas?
Try placing the ICS apps in the /system/apps folder and then install it and reboot!

No sorry, when I reboot they don't appear anywhere. I wouldn't open a thread if it was that simple. Oh and btw, a flaw with your advice, I'd have to also set the permissions to rw--r--.
Firstly you have to be sure that the Sony apps don't utilise any proprietary Sony framework to run. Usually manufacturer apps only run on stock ROMs with proprietary framework like Samsung Touchwiz and HTC Sense. If you're sure they don't, then after copying them to /system/app and setting the right permissions, reboot into recovery and wipe cache+dalvik. Then reboot and see if they show up.

[Q] How to delete system apps?

hi guys,
i'm a newbe here
i have just rooted my htc desire x, and i would delete some useless system apps (i.e. 7digital, rescue, facebook.. etc),
ok so, i do that:
- open explorer
- reach /system/app
- delete /system/app/7digital.apk and /system/app/7digital.odex
right, everything ok!
i check on setting -> apps , no more 7digital on the list
but....
if i delete something else, (i.e. facebook etc...)
the phone turn it off and restart.
at the restart i find again all my deleted apps
someone knows why have this happened ?
thank you a lot!
Your phone is not completely rooted...You do not have permission to delete files from system or data when you are running the sense on it. I mean the phone is working.
You can do that in recovery mode only or else recently there is kernel patch introduce..you can patch it to delete files when phone is running.
Thru recovery you can use Aroma filemanager "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108"
Else this post to tweak Kernel.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142286
