I bought this phone brand new and it worked good for a while. However after a bad flash I had to send it in to get it fixed. When I got it back it powered on but now I cannot make calls all the time or browse the web. If I toggle flight mode I can get these functions to work only for a short period of time. I am currently with straight talk. Any tips/tricks are greatly appreciated.
Defunct motherboards are a common issue with wrongly flashed Galaxy Aces. Take your phone to repair workshop to check for that.

So basically, my SII is dead. I took it out of my pocket yesterday and my randomly screen just wouldn't come on, so I popped the battery out and attempted to reboot. Nothing.
I've tried everything - different chargers, batteries & the works. I can't get into download or recovery mode, it's just dead. Although when I leave the battery in the phone for a little while it starts to get warm.
My question is, which would be the quickest/easiest way to get a repair/replacement, through my carrier (3) or through Samsung? And will the fact that I was running a custom ROM (CM9) stop either of the two from repairing/replacing my phone? I'm hoping that since it doesn't turn on, they won't be able to tell, but I doubt that.
Thanks,
Ash
take it to service center....
Depends on what arrangements your carrier has with Samsung & VV.
For example, within the first year, I'd give it to my carrier, they'd give me a loan phone & they'd forward it to Samsung/whomever is authorised to do Samsung repairs. When the job was done, I'd go to my carrier's local shopfront & pick the phone up/return the loan phone.
I'd call your carrier in the first instance & ask, making a phone call to find out one way or t'other isn't going to delay the amount of time you'll be without your phone while it's repaired/replaced
UK most Samsung repair are located at CPW stores .
Either or individually your warranty is void and its a matter of luck from now on .

Hello everyone,
I though I was better with all of this, but I am not, and I need your help.
I got two Galaxy s4 form Verizon. One for me and my gf.
She was going away to Europe for vacation and I was trying to be clever guy and unlock sim lock for her. So she could use it over seas..
Well after talking with Verizon it turn out that phone is unlock and ready to got, so I put Tmobile card inside and it work but had that notification that it was non Verizon sim and it only took calls. busted...
So I try to root it...
or main plan was to make this phone to be like non Verizon phone, so it would look like is running with out all that Verizon stuff just pure android.
so I think I succeed with rooting but it was still Verizon phone. I got couple more files that I put in on my phone thru Odin.
And now
that galaxy would not start.
you power it on goes to that Samsung sine at beginning with "lock" icon that is open, with sine "custom" and it will not go any further...
I can put it to download mode, but idk what to put in to it true odin.
and when I go to recovery mode it goes to "team win recovery project v2.5.0.2", but idk what to do in there plus I tried to reset it couple of times...
so I am beat and no idea what I am doing and I am asking for help...
I been with that situation over two weeks now... and I had to go back to my s3...
she took my (second one) SG4 with her because we thought that maybe she will get it to work with non americans companies like Verizon said but she cant even text on it because she cant put any ne Access Point Names... but that's other problem... and some other time...
The one I am stuck with is main one...
Can any one help bring this phone back to live?
Either to Verizon version or if possible to Verizon stock free just pure android?
either Way I will be very grateful for help..
Thanks for your time
My mom still has a Samsung stratosphere (verizon) and her upgrade isn't until December and we don't really have the money to go out and buy off contract :/... OK so the past few months it's been laggy and glitchy a lot but recently she dropped it and the screen went entirely black. The phone still turns on but the screen won't do anything. She's taken it to the vzw store and they said they can't do anything. Currently she is using an intensity 1 as a backup (ancient brick). She had a lot of data on her phone so I tried plugging it into a pc to transfer and it won't even read it. Tried plugging her SD card in, computer goes unresponsive and crashes. So I know a friend with an old working stratosphere so do you guys think it would work if I switched my mom's hardware from her phone into a working phone? I would try and replace the screen but they are around $100 and for how old it is its not worth it. is this an option that would work or should I give up and burn the damn thing?
PS: I posted on this thread because I could not find a Stratosphere thread..
Okay gurus, I need some help.
I purchased a Galaxy S4 i545 for verizon used on craigslist. When I bought it, I went with the guy to the Verizon store and watched as he had it removed from his account. The people at verizon told me the phone was clean and there were no issues. Several weeks later, I took this phone to verizon and tried to replace my current phone with this one.
When they boot it without a sim card, there is no issue. As soon as they put a sim card in the phone it automatically goes into some kind of automated activation mode dialing out over and over again. There is no way to break the activation cycle other than pull the battery. The people at verizon are now telling me there's something wrong with the phone.
Thinking maybe he had it rooted or unlocked, I followed the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578209 to put the phone back to 100% stock (including PIT), but still there is no way around this issue. (See Attached screenshot)
Anybody have any experience with this? Can you help me out?
Ultimately, I was going to switch this over to PagePlus after using on VZW for a month or so.
A week ago or so a got ATT variant of S9+ and spent a lot of time personalizing the phone only to find out at that the phone is affected by a serious glitch.
The screen unlocks when a call is initiated from Bluetooth car interface (with Safe Lock Off). I contacted Samsung customer service. After days of back and forth and after exhausting all remedies including full reset on a brand new phone the result was the same.
I tried the phone with my wife’s car. The same thing. Out curiosity, with help of ATT store manager I also tested her brand new Note 9 in my car. No difference. A call from car Bluetooth unlocks the screen. Plugging headphones in does not.
I returned the phone to ATT store for credit. Is it ATT variant's glitch or all S9+, Note 9 phones are affected?

I realize you returned your phone, but yes when I make a call from the car's touchscreen interface, the S9+ screen unlocks, but it turns off after my one minute delay and the call of course continues. I'm on AT&T also. I can't speak for other carriers but this is probably normal behavior. The S9+ is on Bluetooth 5.0 whereas most car systems are probably on 4.0. It is not 100% backward compatible as many people think. There are long threads on the Samsung forums about connectivity issues. Your auto dealer may have an update for your car's system.

Perhaps I didn't keep the connection live long enough, but my impression was that the phone locked only when I terminated the call. I don't believe that Bluetooth version plays any role here. My BMW 650i has up to date communication software installed. Imagine somebody leaving the phone in the car and the car gets stolen. Whoever has control over the car has access to information on the phone after making a call from the car. From corporate risk management point of view this is not acceptable. Samsung customer support was convinced that the phone is bad and they wanted me to send it for repair. After trying the Note 9 with the same end result, I started to suspect that perhaps the glitch affects ATT variants only. But if this normal, how can they fix it. I tried everything they suggested and at the end returned the phone. I posted my comments on ATT and Samsung websites. They were removed. Nobody tried to contact me.

What phones did you and your wife use before the S9+ that did not unlock the phone at all when you made a call from the car's interface? You might try one of the BMW forums to see what phone other owners are using. No one wants to wait forever for an update that may not come. My only suggestion at this point would be to try a different phone and manufacturer until you find one that works as it should with your car.

I am using HTC 10 and need slightly bigger screen, my wife IPhone. We went through many different cars and phones and had the same problem only once with some earlier HTC model. The outcry was so loud back then, that HTC patched that in a week or so.
