Battery is at about 40%.
After being inactive for that length of time, the screen goes off. I have tried setting the time 2 minutes and also turning off power saving. Neither seem to help.
Edit - A reboot seems to have fixed it.
If a mod could please delete this. I'll post it in the custom Rom thread.
Glad you figured it out. Most problems can be fixed by a simple reboot.

Hey folks, I was going to post this in the GreyBlur dev thread but my post count isn't high enough so I'm here...
Anyway, I'm having an odd issue with the screen timeout. Earlier I would use the phone, set it down, and the screen would not shut off until I hit the lock/power button. It would just stay on forever. I noticed in Settings - Display - Screen Timeout that I had no choices in there except for "0 minutes". That's it, nothing else.
So I decided to reflash, and now the screen is turning off by itself after about 15 seconds but still in that same menu there are no choices except for "0 minutes" and it's radio button is not selected.
Anyone have any thoughts or experienced this before? I'd appreciate any tips. Oh, this phone was new out of the box and GreyBlur was the first and only ROM put on here. No dealings with Titanium Backup or other potentially weird stuff.
Thanks for your help!!
I have tnt 4.4 and things were going great until recently I attempted to add the wiimote controller using the revert to older settings menu to change keyboard options. The honeycomb boot menu kept loading and my tablet never turned on again. So I installed 4.4 again and even got titanium pro because I grew tired of installing apps 1 by 1. Now I have this issue which is by far the most frustrating problem I've had with this tablet. No matter what I have open, the screen shuts off after 5-6 seconds. I have to tap the power button to wake it. The last time this happened to me, I installed 4.4 again and things were fine for almost a month till that reverting of menus thing.
Is there anything I can do to get out of this sleep bug every 5-6 seconds of inactivity? I could understand 5-6 mins but seconds is ridiculous (yeah, that's what she said ) Please help thanks in advance, I love this forum and the community.
A shot in the dark...
Check Settings->Display->Screen Timeout value, and check if modifying it changes anything.
Hi guys,
I have this annoying occurrence sometimes, my display just turn on, and its on for 2 min, which is my display sleep setting.
First of all, how can i find what can cause that??
And second question -- why it is on for 2 min?? I am using internal screen lock // cyanogenmod 10,1.... I know from my earlier use from other lock / ROM that it will turn off in about several second if I dont unlock phone...
Thanks for answers, really appreciate it...
Something's obviously triggering the screen when it's meant to be sleeping, get/install BetterBatteryStats & let it run for a bit, next time it happens have a look @ the BBS logs & see if you can track it down that way.
I used to have that issue (or at least the same result), I found it was actually a clock widget waking my phone up once every hour, on the hour. Why it turned my screen on I'll never know. Uninstalled and no issues since. So look for something similar in you case, MistahBungle has given you a good way to do that.
Hi, as the status says, the phone fails to wake up when it's in deep sleep. This occurs randomly but at least once a day. I sometimes have to press the home button tens of times to wake up the phone and even then it only sometimes does. What's also strange is that whenever a call comes, it takes about 5 to 7 seconds for the screen to light up.
Configuration
Liquidsmooth Latest version
Boeffla Kernel (No UV or OV)
No tweaks of any kind besides using Greenify
Hoping to hear from the people who can help ASAP
Thank you in advance
Go back to stock and test, if the problem vanishes then flash one change at a time and test after each.
Before you tell me to look through the settings: there IS NO SETTING to force the screen to stay on for longer when receiving a notification! Nada! The sleep mode time has NOTHING to do with notifications or the lock screen.
So I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro running MIUI 12. Please let me know how to fix this, because I'm already enjoyed to death. My job involves constantly receiving notifications and I'd prefer NOT to have to constantly turn the screen back on or touch the screen every 5 seconds. When the screen is turned off and you receive a notification, the screen ALWAYS shuts off after 5 seconds without exception! You can't change this. This makes it impossible to read a notification longer than 1 syllable. It forces you to either touch the screen to prevent it from going back to sleep or click the power button to turn the screen back on. So now I'm logging for a mod or an app or something to extend this automatic 5-second interval before the screen goes back to sleep after a notification.
Looking forward to extending it to at least 30 seconds! Thanks in advance!
