Hi guys;
I run American Android SD version and since 4 days my phone is always busy for who ever is trying to call me. I know the SIM and card is good, because it works perfectly in Windows mobile. Also the green key to bring the phone app does nothing. For the called her hears one ring and then shows the caller is busy. What is happening?
I am guessing I blocked a service or deleted a file or changed a setting. Would any one have a clue what could have happened? The green key does nothing as well.
Thanks
I have reset permissions for from clockwork, un-installed7disabled all apps which was installed lately. Still no joy.
Any one with a clue where to go?
Backup your data with astro file manager then reflash the rom.
Finally had to start again
Bit the bullet, formatted and started everything again. Seems to be working now.

hello everyone,
i'm a newbie and just tried to flash the rom of my phone to a newer version and then i got to the point where i needed help.
my phone is x10mini baseband m76xx-tsncjolym-53404015 with kernel 2.6.29 and 2.1.1.A.0.6 firmware.
first i root my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833722
then i install xrecovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426x and copied everyting to system/bin ...
after wiping the settings (factory settings) in xrecovery, installing MIMICM6 1.00 and restarting, i got an error message saying "com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" repeatedly (each time two messages) and also no network (gsm) connectivaty.
then i though that maybe i need another rom.. so i tried xCyanogenMini - Gigglebread - v10 and got the same thing. same with Srom-2.3.3Gingerbread-v1 and then ... i decided to try to go back to factory-empty-backup and i got network connectivaty and no error messages whatsoever.
so it seems that my phone dont like non-official roms?
any help in this matter ?
thanks,
elad

1)use SEUS to clean up and install the official FW.
2)root and then install Xrecovery
30backup your fw using Xrecovery
4)copy to your sd card and rename the downloaded CM1 as update
5)install through Xrecovery using the update zip option
6)only then do a factory reset---REMEMBER only after you install your custom ROM
7)reboot
NOTE---ensure that you format your sd card(and avoid having any partition) before you start all this but of course after backing up the contents of your sd card so that you can copy all of it back again.
Best wishes.

very easy--start by reading http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
....download to your pc the free software, connect your phone with the sd card in it,mount and then use what you have read carefully.
One thumb rule to remember is that the size of the partition that you create should be not more than 10% the size of your sd card---eg if you have an sd card that is 2GB in size.don't make a partition larger than 200MB....
For most of your needs,it is better to create and ext 3 partition,of course PRIMARY.

hello sathkartha and thank you very much for your quick answer !
what you described is just what i did... step by step... without success so far.
i will try to do anything again from scratch (starting with the SEUS) and hope it will do better this time... will keep u posted.
thanks again
app2sd
btw, i wanted 2 ask - according to the root article in the forum there are two main stages, the root itself and then the installataion of app2sd usind the adb shell... so.. i wanted to ask what is the app2sd for ? is it required ?
thanks!
hey,
sorry about the multiple posts... i've just tried to redo everything frmo scratch.
i payed extra attention to what i actually need todo lol since i'm still little new in this.. and i think that everything was done right (root, xrec, update rom ...) but i still get the same result. right after the initial (2mins) boot when i get the android logo and the 'click to begin' text, i'm getting the same annoying com.android.phone error and i see no network connection on the icons on the top bar.
what can be the cause? the phone seems to be working fine with the original sony rom and the other roms seems to be working fine... only with no network which brings those annyoing messages.
any ideas???
thanks
ohh this is annoying! no computer have come to defeat me so far (i'm a pretty advanced user hehe).., and as u can guess i'm still playing with this thing.
currently the biggest progress that i could make (same on every rom) is that if i'm able to tap the phone into airplane mode the errors stops (but still no network connection ofcourse). then if i leave it on airplace mode, reboot and disable airplane i'm able to go into the network setting for a sec before it crush and even get the list of providers. for a sec it seems like its connecting and then.. the same error. i tried to disable network data, to set only 2g providors.. and any setting i've tried so far gave me the same annoying com.android.phone error.
from what i can understand.. the error that i have is related to the sim card somehow? so i tried to take the usim card off and see whats up.. the result? no error but still no network connection (duh), but this time it seems like everything is working fine? i'm able to get into all of the network settings without airplane mode and etc and list the network providers but nothing more as u can guess because i dont have a sim installed.
anyway, i'm hopeless, dunno how to continue from here.
needs ideas!
thanks again everyone! and btw: this forum kickass!

just wondering---after installation of CM1 and when your phone boots and you see the opening screen with a green android with the text, you click on the android to begin okay?On the following and subsequent screens, click on 'skip' button instead of sign in etc right upto the stage it ends with 'finish'.
You will then see the launcher and the home screen from which go to 'settings'---wireless networks----mobile networks-----now on this list check and enable data traffic.By default, this is not enabled and it will not facilitate data.
This is the only thing I can think of that you may have to redo properly and wish you all the luck.
Best wishes.
no success yet...
i tried also cm2 and cm1 without success (everything is same), on each of the versions that i've installed i could somehow skip the initial setup and make some testings and all of the versions gave the same results - whenever the phone isnt on airplane mode there is an error message repeating twice each time with about a sec delay between the 'double error popups', in the sec between i'm able to use the phone.. until what i do is being halt by the error message.
once or twice (when starting the phone on airplane mode - aka starting airplane mode and rebooting) i was able to use the phone for a min or so each time with airplane mode off and with network connection (coudlnt make phonecalls but received income calls).
it seems like there is something going very wrong when the phone tries to read the usim card, the only thing i can think of is something related to the service proviers here in israel ? dunno ?
anyway, for now i gave up testings... because it doenst seem to work :-( but my phone is rooted and xrecovery-ready for future testing so please if u have an idea ... lets try! ;-) hehe
thanks again,
cheers,
elad
hey dude
the problem is as you said
the phone trying to read the usim card but it cant
i bet you are on Cellcom
the only way to fix this problem is to replace your usim card
as you know , cellcom holds yellow and white usim cards
and probably you got the yellow one
changin to the white usim will solve your mystery
if you try orange sim it will work on you phone without that error its

So I totally jacked up my phone and I don't know what else to do. I have the Galaxy S3 tmobile (sgh-t999). I had rooted it over a year ago and everything was fine until today. I had used Odin and set up the clockworkmod... rom... thing. Of course now I doubt I even did that correctly, maybe I'm just in over my head...anywho...
I was trying to transfer some files from my pc to the phone. (kies air never worked for me) Well, I had plugged in my phone and in windows explorer it showed something along the lines of 'samsung mtp phone' when I opened it up only 2 folders showed... media and data. The data folder looked like the list of files/folders I would see when I'm in the file manager on the phone but everything listed were showing ad unknown file types. No option to open anything up. The media folder was the same but only listed my pictures and music.
Well, i had rebooted phone and computer, reinstalled usb drivers, same result. So I guessed that maybe my rom version was outdated or something. No luck on figuring out how to update, so I had the briliant (sarcasm) idea to try a different rom. Long story short on that mess, the new rom didn't improve anything with help of transferring files from pc. Then I decided maybe factory reset would fix the issue.
Here comes more ignorance on my part, apparently the new mod I put in was removed but the original stayed. Fine whatever. Here's where my phone it jacked up...
First off, I don't have my notification bar (I've checked in every setting menu, no avail)
I am also missing my web browser (tried downloading from play store which leads to next issue)
I cannot download anything from the play store, I click on install and nothing happens, no error message, nothing (I had attempted to download the .apk file for google chrome and move it onto my phone via memory card but when I click on it to install it says 'unable to find application to perform this action')
Now trust me, I have tried clearing cache, clearing data, app permissions, force stop, uninstall updates and I've done a factory reset 5 times. I apologize for the long post, but I just want to give all the info I can and hope to no end that I can get my phone functional again. What else can I do??
wow such a long letter
ok let me think about it
and tell about it soon as possible
Update....
I got the idea to flash the stock rom back onto the phone. After I flashed it and did another factory reset, I have been able to get my phone functional again. Everything is working fine. Even the phone doesn't know it had been rooted. Currently I am getting everything updated while it is still stock, I'll then just root it to get rid of the bloatware... no more tinkering.
Hi Everyone, I need some serious help - thanks in advance!
I have a LG Enlighten phone - I am a tech, although I am new to the whole smartphone thing (ya, I know, where have I been lol). Anyway, as you probably know it has limited internal storage. So I have a Sandisk 32gb micro sd card installed where I move things over to it to keep space open on the internal. The phone is rooted.
Ok, things were going well - and I am not sure what happened precisely, but obviously I must have moved something over to the sd card I shouldn't have. The phone went wonky on me after a reboot. I got stuck in a boot loop I could not recover from. So I did a factory reset (power button, home, and volume up). That went just fine. I activated just fine to. Problem is after that all I get is: Sorry! the application com.android.lgsetupwizard (process com.android.lgsetupwizard)has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.
You can press the force close button a million times (I probably have) and nothing happens. I have tried EVERYTHING to try to clear this and I can't get passed it. I've spent two days online reading forums, web pages, watching youtube videos - nothing has helped. Problem is, since I did a factory reset its back to defaults (I am assuming) meaning USB debugging and mounting is turned off because it is turned off as default. I can't get passed that infernal screen to turn it back on.
I don't have any data on here that I care about I just want my phone back. I don't mind flashing the rom but for the life of me I can't get at it!
When I go into restore mode, at least with the enlighten it doesn't give you options - it just shows the picture of the android for a few seconds then reboots. No idea what it's doing there.
I tried re-formating the micro sd card thinking maybe it was picking something up from there, that didn't seem to do anything.
I have Android Studio installed, I was hoping to do something through it - but again the phone isn't mounting when plugged into my laptop (windows 7) - it was before - no doubt because that feature is turned off because of the factory reset.
If you have ideas, please speak in small words with lots of steps. Thanks.
HELP!
I successfully rooted my LG Tribute. Phone worked just fine (Didn't have service at the time. Just using it like an IPod). Downloaded another "management program" to make deleting apps, etc. easier. Problem. Settings had stopped. Couldn't get it to function. Everything else functioned, but not settings. So, since it's not my only smart phone and if I wrecked it, it wouldn't matter, I copied all files to my PC and did a factory reset. The little green robot erased everything, but when it came time to reinstall the program the reinstall message just blinked and the message "unfortunately settings has stopped" popped up. Naturally I tried at least a million times to repeat the factory reset, but with no success. I can pull down the top of the screen and see the information there, but I can't get behind the "unfortunately settings has stopped" message. I admit I'm a very old guy who fantasizes about becoming a hacker, but that's never going to happen. But I'm wondering, is there a little utility type program somewhere that I could download to my PC and run it in my phone via USB to get behind the '"unfortunately" message and do some kind of wipe job that would enable the do the factory reset? Like getting into the registry on a PC? Everyone I talk to says to just dump the phone. But I'd like to figure out a solution, if there is one, and learn something.
Hello all! I registered real quick in hopes this community could help me out with something.
So quite a while ago I rooted my Lenovo Tab 2A 10-70 tablet with KingoRoot in order to generate a logcat file. That went fine and dandy, and then I disabled some misc. apps (like Kindle for Android). I can't remember exactly what I messed with, so please bear with me.
The issue is that a couple of days ago I tried taking an image with my tablet with the default Camera app, when suddenly it started giving me some errors with generating thumbnails. Worse yet, my computer could not open these and they were seemingly corrupted. The camera started acting up as well, and claimed that "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working." whenever I attemted to record. I tried clearing the cache based on some recommendations through others and force stopping the app, and this seemingly worked for one recording/picture, but then would stop again. I found deleting the DCIM folder entirely from my Android's Internal Storage helped, but it'd quickly corrupt again.
Frustrated, I asked a friend for help on what to do figuring he had more knowledge in Android devices then me. He suggested I tried another camera app, but I couldn't get Google Play to download anything to the internal storage or my SD card, despite clearly having enough space.
As a last resort, I tried updating through the official "Updates" app to see if that would help me, and it claimed there was a new ROM available. I tried that, but then suddenly it failed and now my tablet seems to bricked? I can now only get the "No command." screen to show up.
I've tried using the following options while on this screen:
- reboot system now - this takes me back to this menu after it shows a Lenovo screen twice, which makes me think it's having trouble booting into Android itself.
- Apply update from ADB/sdcard - Both did nothing for fairly good reason, but I checked these options out of curiosity.
- wipe data/factory reset - Tried these the very first time I got to this screen after a failed installation. It seemingly hasn't worked for me.
- wipe cache partition - Tried this a bit later, but got similar results.
- root integrity check - Scanned a bunch of .apk files, but then later threw up some errors after that was done and said the check failed.
So, in short, I'm stuck in this menu and I'm getting kind of frustrated/scared. Is there anything that I can do to save the tablet at this point? Is there something I did wrong that might have bricked it? I'm not terribly experienced with Android, so I'd love to hear some thoughts from others! I'll gladly take anyway to restore the tablet back to a point where it can actually boot into the OS, and I understand I'd lose some data doing any sort of clean install.
Thank you!

Theirs a Guide here on how to re flash your tablet back to stock

Quite a late reply, but thank you! That ended up working quite nicely! I upgraded my tablet from Lollipop to Kitkat too, which seems to be working a bit better app performance wise for me.
