Sorry, haven't got any ideas/ solutions myself though. I was on fxp030b with no issues and just flashed the kernel that came with fxp041 and then flashed the update file with cwm. Only then just wiped caches, and that's it. No other wipes, kept my data intact.
No probs or issues other than expected.

Ah, so I was smart in not flashing it. I was kind of hesitant in doing it. Good thing I didn't.
Lots of people use skinny4g with wifi. If you want to try to fix it, pull the dhd.ko out of yays 1024.zip and place in proper location. You also need to make sure you sbf'd to 198-7 before installing if you have issues

I sbfed back to 198_7. When i went to install skinny4g i formatted system, wiped the caches, and hard reset manually before hand. As expected wifi was not working when it loaded up. I used root explorer to overwrite the dhd.ko file with the one from yays zip file. Rebooted. Still no wifi.

Hello,
First and foremost, I'm loving this rom. I'm a noob and getting my hands dirty figuring all this out.
Now with that said:
When I try to connect to my wifi network it keeps saying authentication error occurred. I have tried everything and the only thing that fixes it is restoring my backup to my stock rom.
Please help!!!!

I will say 90% of the people in here will say it is not the rom. just because theres seems to work. and i tend to agree. what have you tried to fix it? besides going back (to Stock). i have not had any issues with WiFi on Serephim yet, so i can not say what a fix would be. maybe wipe your cache's. when i had that issue on GB i had to reinstall the kernel and boom it worked. but seeing as though we do not have one yet for ICS. i would say wipe and worst case reinstall the from after a very Thurough Wiping Process.

Then if your into flashing right now, just try either the superwipe.
Or this is how i wipe.
I factory default/format usb from inside the rom.
I wipe factory/data from cwm
i wipe cache partition from cwm
i wipe delvik from cwm
then i flash "Rom" and reboot.
this leaves nothing from previous roms and or Gingerbreak roms.
try that and see if it works. if not then i am out of ideas until a kernel source is released.
Ok i will try that and see if it works...
Thank you!!!

Good morning guys. I'm having trouble with my Samsung galaxy SGH-I777. Every time I open an app that uses he camera (ie camera, barcode scanner, flashlight, camera) he flash goes off then it just reboots he phone. I've already done a factory restore. I even went into recovery mode and wipe cache and did a restore from there. I've also just downloaded the new ICS update and it still didn't fix the problem. Please help
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
when you say factory restore does that mean you completely wiped the phone and flashed back to stock rom. If not, that's what I would do to determine if we're looking at a hardware or software issue.
No I didn't flash it back to stock. How would I even do that?

I would flash back to stock. If it still does it, bring it in to at&t service center and show them. They can give you a replacement. Or you can call them. Just make sure your on non rooted stock firmware.
a full wipe and reflash is required before posting any problems. because99 % of the time it's user error. Did you fully wipe system, cache, data, and run the kernel cleaning scriptbefore posting this issue?

IF this is happening across roms, and assuming correct firmware, with a clean install (factory reset, no misc apps installed) then I'd say you have a hardware problem. If you've flashed incorrect firmware then a reset won't help you until you flash back to the correct firmware. Of course all of this moot if its physical damage caused by dropping the phone or maybe water damage. If you're completely stock and haven't subjected the phone to any physical abuse, then return the phone for a new one.

Run fix permissions in recovery (last resort).
Anyone experience reboots when trying to fix permissions?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I would expect that if you were using Rom Manager app, but not fromTWRP. What are you trying to cure by fixing permissions?
Maybe ask in their thread in the original development forum.
Just saw a suggestion about clearing cache and fixing permissions might help with reboots. Not sure but was willing to give it a try
Its working now. Not sure why it kept rebooting. It wasn't even a full reboot it just restarted twrp.
Thanks.

I've seen an increase in the 'fix permissions' added to the list of things to do when flashing. I never do that.

The same things happened to me.I try to fix permissions and it reboots TWRP. How does clearing hte cache fix the problem? Did you clear cache in TWRP then reboot to the ROM then reboot back to TWRP to fix permissions or was it all in one session?
No the cache was a possible solution to random reboots in the ROM. As far as twrp goes, I get the reboot issue when trying to fix permissions after flashing (same session). However I don't seem to get it every time.
Sorry I couldn't be more help
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
No need for apologies. I don't know what's goin gon with this issue. I'm afraid of upgrading to TWRP 2.4 to see if it solves the issue.... but then I think maybe I could just backup my ROM and Recovery and then flash it. If it acts up then I can restore 2.3
I recently started fixing permissions because I use appextractor now. I use it within the app and I use it in TWRP. Never had a issue. No reboots etc.

Lol this is like ages ago but it still bugs me somehow so i am out to resolve it here :-\
This is my first time asking a question, feels awkward as i have been helping people all along. Lets get to the main point.
I followed all the steps in the topic. I mounted /system and /data
I went on to flash the kernal........all seems fine. I went to flash the rom........after flashing, cwm showed some error talking about some file called recovery.log
I did not wipe anything and i rebooted. After that, i lost cwm and i was in a bootloop. The next day, i unbricked it by flashing stock rom(as my signature says) What bugs me is others who wiped (no need to wipe data) had problems but i did not wipe and i have problems. My friend said is because i did not wipe but i believe that the error showed befor i had time to wipe. I want to let go of this matter so i am just asking for an answer. Not really important :-\

You can't flash kernel with locked bootloader. Maybe that's why you get bootloop.
Clear data, cache and dalvik cache and after that install the rom.

No mate. This rom will work on both locked and unlocked bootloaders but you can only install the kernel provided on unlocked.
So i suggest you to flash stock rom, root, install cwm for lb and install the rom. This way should work.
