[Q] [ROM QUESTION] Coderom v2x - free space, apps and connectivity - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hi all,
i am having some issue with this rom and i cant find any answer :-(
I flashed yesterday (from XXKPH) and, despite of having 70mb of free space in the internal memory, i managed to install just few apps before having the market saying "you don have enough space" but no system "low free space" warning. Seemed to me that the flash didnt freed previously installed apps space or something. Should i "wipe data/factory reset" before flashing (because I didnt)?
Also, 3G connectivity is not working but i dont have any clue on that :S
Thanks

For the internal memory low problem , flash the CF-Root version of a2sd in the cf-root thread .
For 3G , you need to manually set your APN .

[Q]

Good evening,
I'm having some trouble with my Samsung Galaxy Ace (S5830i) and I seek help to remedy the problems.
Few details of my device.
S5830i
Rooted
AceCream v1.4 ROM
I'm having issues with the memory.
I'm constantly reminded that I'm low on memory and often text messages get rejected until I clear a loads of text messages.
The odd thing is, I have 15MB free of internal memory and 13GB free external memory (microsdhc).
So far I've done the following
Default install location micro SD card - (using ABD)
Transferred apps to micro SD card using Link2SD - apart from those that refuse or do not work properly.
Cleared Cache
Not too long ago I read upon the HTC wildfire roms and SD partitioning and apparently a portion of it is displayed as internal, perhaps you could enlighten me.
Please do recommend possible solutions, I don't mind deleting everything or installing different rom etc.

Try the Data2ext script in the developement section. It uses the ext-partition as internal memory. No lags

1. I created a 2GB ext2 partition using MiniTool.
2. Then went ahead & flashed the Data2sd-ext Fixed.zip from recovery menu.
Then rebooted but it would not go past the Rafeal kernel boot logo.
I've reinstalled AceCream v1.4 so phone is running fine, still seeking help on my problem.
You can try excalibur rom. Since it only uses 50mb internal memory.

Backup your apps with Titanium Backup and do a wipe data. Then try flashing the script again.

[Q] Android Caché almost full

Hello.
I have a rooted Motorola XT303 (Motosmart ME) with stock ROM (I think it doesn't have a custom rom yet... I think...), i'm using Link2sd to free some space.
Yesterday when I wanted to download Line it said something like "Not enough Space" and today trying again says "...Error 498".
Then i noticed that the /cache partition is almost full (10mb free or so). I tried everything I know to free that space, like 4 Market Apps (Cache cleaners and 'fixers'), Recovery factory wipe and Cache wipe and nothing...
Is there anyway to fix this?
Thank you for your help, bye!
Hi keishi16, I'm an owner of a XT303...
I recommend that you partition your SD card. With Link2SD application do the links to the partition (currently I have it in FAT32 format). Not simply move them "natively" to SD, because the libraries and other files are stored internally. We also recommend that when you make these links do quick reboot with Link2SD. For some reason the internal memory is "full" when you make the links, but returns to normal when you reboot. I hope that helped you, greetings!
Sorry for bad english, I used Google Translator.:cyclops:

[Q] Low internal memory

Hello guyz,
I have a "rooted" micromax A44, an mtk based phone loaded with gb. Yes, It hs very low internal memory (a mere 170mb dedicated for user apps nd its data). There are no roms nor a recovery available. So im at my wits end. I tried these to overcome the problem.
1. changed internal apps (system) into user ones using Titanium Backup and moved them to sd card. still the app's data remained internal, low memory.
2. Tried link2sd to link apk's, lib files nd dalvik cache, still data stayed on internal memory.
3. Same results with apps2sd.
But, I still could have made it possible with data2sd, mounts2sd, etc. I couldn't. This is where the real problem is. Mine is a "stock" gb with root access. So maybe its the reason unable to recognize ext2,3,4 partitions on my sd card(8gb). therefore, none of those scripts worked.
link2sd worked as fat32 was supported by the kernel.
So this is my question. is ther any way I can reduce burden on the internal memory?? No matter how carefull I am, the /data partition gets hogged with files even after I removed all "my" apps leaving system apps alone.
Used all kind of cleaners possible (sd maid, clean master, memory booster, etc..) but no effect.
P.S. I even supercharged my phone as its the only script which I need not flash. adenaline, tweakz etc needs to be flashed, which in my case, never gonna happen.(no custom recovery, roms).
U people are my last hope.
Thanks
Pls tell me how you root your Micromax a44 ..

[Q] Omni ROM Internal Storage Issues

Hi,
I am running the latest Omni ROM nightly (12/17) and my internal storage has a major bug where it says I have 170Mb free space when only ~400Mb is actually used by apps and caches, this is out of the 2Gb possible.
To see if this was a bad flash I verified the MD5 on my 12/17 nightly ROM and then re-flashed Omni which on first boot correctly presented the internal storage full space but after the first play store app was installed (xda premium) it jumped back to the space situation described above.
I can't install any more play store apps due to "insufficient storage"
Anyone have this happen or have any idea's?
Thanks,!

When wiping the cache and davlik cache had no effect, I wiped the phone, reinstalled CM, and restored a Titanium backup. It is showing the correct amount of free space now. [...]

@russelm, Have you tried this solution from the other thread that you posted in? ^^^

Yes and after it did have the correct internal flash size then I installed an app from the play store and checked the internal storage and it was broken again

You know..... I would've just asked in the Omni thread or pm'd the dev. Just my silly logical thinking i suppose.
I don't have 10 posts the minimum to comment in the other sub-forums. Yes I could've PM'ed the OP but that is only a single person audience.
-Have you tried different apps as your "first app install"?
-What housekeeping did you perform inbetween your prior firmware and OMNI?
-Have you tried and observed this behavior on other ROMS since it has shown up on OMNI?

Insufficient storage issue
I have Omni ROM 4.4.2 (26.12.2013 nightly build + kernel - 3.0.6-CM-ge07399aa) installed in my samsung Galaxy Note 1.
Phone works fine but when I try to install an app (size doesn't matter) it reports that it has insufficient space.
In storage, phone tells that Internal sotrage first has 216 MB space free and second has 10.53 GB free and further this I have external SD card with 8 GB memory.
looked at other posts and tried various options with different cache clean options etc but no benefit. I don't want to wipeout the entire phone.
Please help me.

You might have to, but not all is lost. Install Titanium Backup and back up the apps you have (don't back up system data). Next, do a wipe of everything and restore the apps using Titanium Backup. It's worth a try to see if this resolves the issue.

Having the same issues ! , even after wiping and formatting (it did work for a while , then came back)..
i Started deleting apps - but for some reason "free space" does not grow back to normal (i.e - clearing an app that weighs 2gb does not show the space was claimed back...)
I have the same problem It is common on Android from what i have seen on many threads and websites, but not found an answer any where
