I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to remove a application from the Sense app drawer while actually keeping the application installed and working? I'd like to remove useless apps that can't be uninstalled like Locations and latitude.
I got started thinking about this when myself and a few others requested to to have the Clock app icon back in the app drawer. The application itself was still installed and working but wasn't accessible through the drawer. So I'm wondering if the same thing can be done with some of the useless apps.

Basically can I do it without messing anything up? I hate that useless icon on menu.

Afaik superuser stops any old app from accessing root.. that could cause damage to your software.. why would you want to uninstall?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Leave it there if you have apps installed which only works for rooted phones or a different theme, font etc. but than, why are you rooted? its only an icon...it uses it automatically when it needs to

If you use launcher pro you can hide things from showing up in the app drawer without deleting them

Cheers, Ive learned a new feature, now theres hardly anything left in my app drawer.

I don't bother hiding with launcherpro, it is too much hassle going through the menus to get to something hidden.
That is the one feature I really miss from adw, more than one app drawer.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
You could create a menu set using adw (press menu when app draw open) or just have a screen or two with most used icons on it, then you don't have to really use the app drawer - hope that helps.

Apps Organizer
The Apps Organizier (from Android Market), lets you assign all of your apps into folders (called labels). They are really easy to find!
Hello! I seem to have run into an issue with my gf's T-Bolt.... She just recently OTA'd to GB 2.3.4 and the stock alarm is now missing from her app drawer... Would someone be kind enough to please send me the stock alarm.apk?? I would greatly appreciate any help!!! Thank you!
It's still there just hidden, you have to click on HTC clock widget to bring it up.

Ok, cool. Thank you for the reply!
You don't have to click the widget, you can just go into your app drawer and open the app called "clock"

He is on stock, HTC took out the app and makes you click the widget to open it. If you are on a custom ROM the developer edited it so it shows back up in app drawer. Make sure you read the issue before you comment advice.

Anyone else reading the manual and notice there's supposed to be a Facebook chat app built in to this phone, that I presume htc made? There is a widget....but there's no way to get into the app unless the widget is on your screen lol...the manual states that there should be a shortcut to it under all apps but there's def not...hmm...

imo, facebook's messenger app is so much better
Yeah which I don't see the point in because the Facebook app has built in chat anyway lol I was just curios why there's a widget but no app even tho the manual says there is.

So I figured it out download es file explorer and go to system apps and find Facebook chat app and (make sure you have open space on a home screen) once your into systems apps and Facebook chat app in es file explorer long press the app and select add shortcut and then check a home screen and you'll see the app.

Even better than hiding apps with hide it pro is locking them with it - very useful for apps you frequently need but don't want people to sneak around like facebook etc.
