Can I use setCPU On a MTD ROM with JTs newest kernel that fixes GPS?
Will their be any issues at all?

Yes, this is the one and only jt1134. A quick view of his posted topics would easily confirm this.

Just wondering if anybody has heard any news about voodoo sound for our fascinates is gonna come through, also im on super clean2.6 eb16 voodoo, I tried setting up bln but its not supportes by sc... Any roms available that actually do? Ive spent some time looking but no such luck...
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
If you would have searched and read, you would have found that voodoo sound and bln aren't going to work until source is available...
And for the likely follow up question, source isn't likely to be available until right around the time 2.2 is officially released.

That's about as up to date as it gets. No source code = no true custom kernels = no voodoo sound.

No one can give a date for source until Samsung and/or Verizon give us a date for the official update release. If anyone had a date, I'm sure it would be all over the place...

It alters the codec(s) that are used to process audio going through the sound chipset in the phone to make it sound better.

Voodoo sound is, to me, the best part of voodoo. The audio hardware in the galaxy s is fantastic, the samsung driver for that hardware, not do much. Voodoo sound corrects that issue

I know of one photon thats not that RAM and it is one that wont oc to 1.4 well. So I need to get a poll to see if we really do have two different chips. If so then guys with the 1.4 issues can be fixed with some changes to my source.

Be sure to state if your phone works or doesn't work with the 1.4 OC kernels. If you don't list this or have never tried the 1.4 kernel then it doesn't help joker.

All 1.4 kernels seem to be flaky for me. The latest two that you uploaded on the 20th booted, but would reboot in a minute or two. Kinda reminded me of my first photon before I took it back. Sometomes it would randomly reboot and sometims it would sleep of death on me.
I am using the CM7 variants.
1.3 has been rock solid since I installed it.

This is the output I got.
Its not that ones flaky, its that i didnt know we had two photon chips. The hynix is timed better but doesnt oc well without voltage. The other oc's without voltage but wasnt set right in source. The atrix uses elipia(whatever) and is properly set for lpddr2-667. The photon is lpddr2-600 with lower timing. Ive got to set both individually and hope both are timed right. Better memory oc will equal better cpu oc to a point. Thats one reason the atrix oc's a little better. But they have heat issues. Im hoping for at least 333 stable with 400-450 hardcore. If timing is off youll notice the phone slowing down. This is why i need it tested. But only the hynix is tweaked timing wise.

It has to be written into the kernel. As far as I remember, Pershoot stopped adding it in last year. So the answer is probably "no." Search the forums. BTW- it's called "voodoo" not "vodoo" (that will help your search).
Well I mean the 3 usd app in market as it's not clear on what or what not its compatible with it... I'm pure honeycomb stock rooted and would like to buy the app.

I'm telling you, it needs to be written into the kernel. The app (if you're talking about the one I think you are) is just to change the settings.
Well maybe I'm stupid but read yourself
It says with or without custom kernel and I understand as non custom kernel stock kernel

It clearly states that it will work on "custom kernels implementing voodoo patches". According slack04 our kernel is not patched. And probably this is the truth, since there is no such thing mentioned in pershoot's thread. Maybe ask him whether the kernel is voodoo enabled.!
EDIT: it says that tab 10.1 is not supported, but it will be, read all the way down! And yes, you were right. It appears that certain customkernels are supported, at least that is understood by what it says!

Here you will find a kernel I had built for myself and shared with a few others. I like it, they like it, so I thought I'd share.
What is it? It's a VERY lightly modded kernel. It's build from elkay's (LK kernel) great work. Basically HSIC fixes and undervolting. You can read more about LK kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37234176
I've mostly just added FFC and the color_enhancement bugfix that most devs don't seem to want to add.
You will find no fancy governors here, no sweep_to_do_something, no overclocking, no aroma installer. What you will find is a solid kernel, with the above fixes.
To make it clear, this is the kernel I run, and I'm just sharing. If you like it, great. If you don't, I don't care, use someone else's. I'm no elite kernel "dev".
Credits - elkay (98% his work) and crpalmer (for his build tools). Also Infinite Jest for pointing out just how bad our displays looked.
Here's the download - http://d-h.st/Oxr
I won't be pushing source to github. Compressed source can be found here - http://d-h.st/k5L
Q&A:
Q: Can you add feature "x"?
A: No
Q: How can I overclock with this kernel?
A: No
Q: Can you add super_lame_badass_v9_supercharged_donkey governor?
A: No
Q: Can you post source to github?
A: No
Q: I'm having "x" problem, can you fix it?
A: No
Enjoy
Thanks. I just happened to be looking for a kernel and I guess I will try this one out. I can just flash this in recovery if I'm s off and I just wipe dalvik cache and cache after installation right?

A few folks have. I personally have not but I have it d/l.
Hoping Saber and Faux port their kernels eventually.
It's safe
Yes ive used it for a day and I like it so far.
I just flashed it and nothing has exploded yet! So far so good ;-p It seems snappy, it's quite "minimal" as he said. I haven't been able to alter governors/IO schedulers but I'd be a betting man and say this would significantly increase battery life

I've been using it, since the OP made us Sprint folks aware of it. I haven't had any problems at all. The developer updates frequently, and now that I've started experimenting with the color temperature, the screen colors seem a lot more natural-- not so Samsung cartooney.
