Well not exactly 'ctrl', but really the swype key then a/x/c/v. I'm not sure if it's me, or the rom that I'm using but it's just odd that this awesome feature cannot be used!
When I first got this stock with the Swype pre-installed, this feature doesn't work. So I was guessing maybe the swype is not as up to date. So I've rooted my phone, first tried MIUI rom, installed swype (as it did not have it) from the website and it had the swype + a/x/c/v function. SWEET!
I decided MIUI is not a rom for me but the themes were so pretty, but oh well. I went on and got Batista70 FoxHound Edition 2.2. It also didn't have swype so I installed it from the website. This time, it didn't work (the swype + a/x/c/v). Just wondering what's going on and how I can get this feature as it's so convenient!
Thanks in advance!
Noone but me that's having this problem? Any help would be nice.

I know everyone loves SWYPE but does anyone have the stock Samsung Vibrant keyboard apk? I flashed Eugenes Vibrant9 and the stock keyboard is not on here. SWYPE is great but I really like the stock keyboard.
I am also interested in this... as well as the stock ANDROID keyboard.
anyone have any ideas?
Personally I prefer the HTC keyboard. Search for HTC IME mod. It is a gear keyboard with lots of features including volume control moves cursor... Google search is my friend when it comes to this tweaking stuff
Just look in a previous version of eugene's vibrant roms, Vibrant 1 probably has it

I pulled the file from the Deoxed ROM listed in the Vibrant Bible, dropped it into system/app using Root Explorer, ran fix permissions, and then rebooted. Worked wonderfully.
For the life of me I cannot find the LatinIME.apk file in anomalous3's Deodexed ROM (version 1.2). I feel like either I keep overlooking it or it has been renamed. Does anyone have some input? Thanks guys!
When yiur typing anythjng just long press the screen sekect input method and choose the keyboard of yiur choice

If you're looking for the SAMSUNG keyboard, the file name is AXT9IME or something close to that (at work and brain fuddled), and it's in system/app.
i tried to copy it, using root explorer to system/app
and fixed permisions and rebooted and i still cant get the samsung t9 working
1) I'm running eugene's macnut R12 right now. fantastic rom, but unfortunately the droid multitouch keyboard wasn't included in R12 (as opposed to a few previous versions)
I'm in love with that keyboard. I'm so much faster using that then swype, believe it or not. I've seem other threads on the keyboard but nothing I've seen seems to work with my phone?
Anyone have an APK or anything to help me out with getting multitouch on my phone?
2) Not much of a question, but why is Steel internet browser so underated? I've been using it for months. Since my mytouch 3g, it's been such a solid browser.
I pulled a MT KB .apk from a Rom. It works on R12, but the fonts on the keys is hella small. Try pulling it from a previous Rom or I could send you one.

Running Obsidian and couldn't get this kb to work, anyone else have any ideas?
This is by far the best kb, I first saw it in R10.

Pardon my ignorance, but who's gothroid?
Bumping this.
Went through the .zips from the Droid multitouch threads I found on this site, no luck with them ;(
The last thing from making me love Macnut R12 is not having the keyboard with it, halpp!
tried pulling the droid multitouch apk from Macnut R10 and installing it on my phone.
it attempts to install it but after a few seconds it says its unsucessful ;(
Steel is my go to browser. Most comfortable and lite for me. But I haven't seen an update in ages. I think it's a little orphan appy.
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.

Did you try installing it like a system app (through root explorer) or a normal 3rd party apk?
The Droid X MT keyboard that works for the vibrant, both 2.1 and 2.2 has been posted here. The 2.2 is skinned to look like the samsung keyboard only, but 2.1 has both the original and samsung look.

Hi,
I'm not sure why you lost apps, but I can guarantee its not my zip. Here's exactly what my zip file does:
Code:
delete SYSTEM:app/LatinIME.apk
copy_dir PACKAGE:app SYSTEM:app
copy_dir PACKAGE:lib SYSTEM:lib
and if you look inside those folders, /system/app only has dxkeyboard.apk and /system/lib only has libjni_latinime.so
If you run any of the new 2.2 kernels from eugene or team whiskey that have been built from hacked i9000 source, that might be causing your problems. I've had /data wiped just by rebooting into recovery using various 2.2 kernels.
Good luck, cheers, =)
^^ im not upset at all bro, you dont know how happy i am to have multitouch on this rom.
i undrstand having a custom rom some random/weird stuff happens, i just need to run titanium backup more often thanks!

Glad to see other fans here I just saw him about 2 weeks ago in concert... it was a lot of fun. But glad to see you got your multi touch keyboard working..
Okay this guy was able to get the gingerbread keyboard on "all" 2.1 and 2.2 devices. I installed it on the non-rooted mytouch 4g on 2.2.1 and it force closes when you try to type on it. If you want to try it here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9913510&posted=1#post9913510 if it works on your phone, how did you get it to work?

install cyanogen nightly with nexus s theme from the g2 thread. works just fine.
i second his request.. reading through the other two gb kb threads got me no working .apk for a rooted stock rom..
Just to let you know sense and aosp doesnt get along. even if you do get it working its responsive is slow and its auto corrections are horrible. Galaxy s vibrant is coming out with gingerbread auto corrections. If you really want the gingerbready keyboard flash cyanogen 6.1 nightly. It comes with gingerbread keyboard.

So I was looking at current android news on androidcentral.com when I read this article about swype being prepped for ICS. Apparently official swype for ICS hasn't even come out yet, which confuses me because I currently have swype working with ICS on my HTC Glacier. It could be that swype doesn't work on the Galaxy Nexus because it's a new device with different screen dimensions and the onscreen buttons, but it works on my Glacier because it's an older device running ICS and swype already supports it. I'm curious if anyone else has swype beta up and running on their device running ICS or if they're having issues with it.
i got it and it works perfectly. ICS on droid3
Are you able to download additional languages? I can't seem to download any. That's the only real issue I have worth Swype on my beta ICS ROM.

Swype on my Galaxy S II is not a normal beta version!

can someone post the apk?
You can get the Swype beta from the Swype beta site. Just sign up for the beta and you'll get a link to download the apk.

The reason why Swype is not working with ICS is that you cannot download additional languages. You can only use English and Spanish. They're working on it.

But the Galaxy S II only has GingerBread... unless you have a custom rom.
Thanks.
What do you mean?
You want to use Swype on ICS?
http://beta.swype.com/
go there, register, and download the .apk over to your phone.
Could you please clarify? Do you want an ICS rom that includes Swype? A modified version Swype?
I was just looking to get Swype keyboard on ICS. I didn't knew the beta program is open for registrations.
Thanks
Ah, I see. I thought that's what you wanted, but xriderx66 beat me to it anyways.
Yup the beta program is completely free. Once registered you are always free to download it on any phone and any OS version 2.1+.
