[REVIEW] Rearth Ringbo Screen Protector - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Rearth Ringbo
When I first opened it, feeling the screen protector, it feels thin compared to the Anti-Glare I had on my iPhone 4 from Power Support USA. This screen protector seems like a fingerprint magnet, more fingerprints on the screen protector than the phone. The feel to it is smooth, not like those "military grade" plastic feel like from InvisibleShield, ClearProtector, etc.
What it includes: 2 Screen Protector and Instructions, along with 3 piece of paper (Installation guide, Feedback, and 15% coupon)
Quality: 8.5/10
Packaging: 10/10
Easy to Install: 7/10 (10/10 for me, since I'm used to installing screen protectors)

2 Screen Protectors
On the phone

Hi:
I bought these also. It went on perfectly (on the second try, I ruined the first one ). Not even one bubble.
Looks, clear and nice.
IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. Fingerprints everywhere.
And, even if you want to clean it, you have to rub and rub to get it clean.
I would NOT buy these again because of the smudges.
I do have one question for you, since you said you're an expert at installing screen protectors.
Is it possible to remove the screen protector without damaging it, so it can be reused. I have to exchange my phone.
Is there any way to clean a screen protector that got lint on it (on the adhesive side) when trying to apply it? I read somewhere scotch tape works, but it didn't work for me. Because if I could get the lint off, the first screen protector I tried to apply would be good.
Thanks!

I personally don't see that this screen protectors are reusable.. I tried it once with Power Support USA by using water to wash off all the lint, letting it dry a little bit, not completely all, and then apply it back up, works, but might have 1 or 2 bubbles.

If you peel it off and get dust on the back side of it, use magic tape to remove the dust. Works good as a prep before applying them to get any dust or lint off the screen.

^Yup
My installation process:
1. Wipe screen as clean as possible with a microfiber/glasses cloth
2. Get some magic/scotch tape and use the sticky side on the screen to remove any leftover dust/lint throughout the screen, especially on the sides/edges.
3. Remove the "2" side first, or at least that's what I always do.
4. Remove the "1" side and start applying on the screen protector on slowly, removing any air bubbles if there is any.
Always try to install it without any air bubbles.

what case is that?

SGP Neo Hybrid
It's for the international version, fits perfectly just that it covers the top noise canceling mic.

Hard to tell from the pics, but does it cover the entire screen? A few protectors I've seen have a cut out for the speaker at the top but cut out everything above that. I believe the Belkin is like that. Also, does the protector have a cut out for the front facing camera, or does it go over it entirely?

^^it covers the whole screen

removable hard screen protector?

Back in the day I had a palm tungsten T. This came with a clear polcarbonate screen cover which could be clipped on the front of the device to protect the screen whilst in your pocket. Or could be clipped onto the back of the device for storage whilst in use.
This seems like such a great idea - I can't understand why it hasn't caught on.
The large screen of the touch HD seems particularly vulnerable and there are a great number of cases/skins on the market that provide virtually zero protection to the screen.
Has anyone come across this type of removable, hard screen cover for the touch hd?
Was the Tungsten a touch screen?
Seems like a hard cover wouldn't be possible with the touch screen.
Not that I want to blow anyone's bubble here, but been using the HD since it came out with no screen protector whatsoever and till now there's not a single hairline scratch on the screen. Using the pouch that came with it though and doing nothing special, not even cleaning the screen (hand and face grease) makes it a bit slippery and it actually protects better than having a shiny, "dry" and clean screen. That's my experience with it.
As for the question, every screen protector reduces the screen sensitivity by a bit. A thick or solid screen protector will reduce it considerably/completely since it will not allow the foils of the touchscreen to be connected and register input.
Yes, the tungsten T was touchscreen,
...and I'm not concerned about small scratches on the screen. I'm sure that the disposable thin plastic screen protectors are easily up to the job for that. Rather, I am worried (for example) that I might bang my leg on the corner of a table with the touch HD in my pocket. This could easilly smash the screen. Since I have signed up to a two year contract with this phone I want to give it the best possible chance of survivng that long.
You both seem to have missed the point a bit. The screen protector is removed when you are actually using the device. It can be unclipped and attached to the back of the device for temporary storage.
Since the screen protector is removed from the screen whilst in use there is absolutely no reduction in screen sensitivity.
However the tough polycarbonate cover means the screen is completely protected whilst the device is in your pocket.
The thing looked like this for the Tungsten T.. obviously the cover would have to be specifically molded to whichever device.

Pixel - Caseology Vault and Choetech Tempered Glass Screen protector review

I just got my Pixel last night and immediately put on a case and screen protector.
Caseology Vault Series Case
Choetech Tempered Glass Screen Protector
I'll start with the case: The case feels dense and feels like it will help with any drops. I had to get a opaque case because I put a magnet inside on the back of the case for my car mount. The case fits snuggly and the phone can easily be put in and removed from the case. The cuts outs look to be exact and you can put regular sized 3.5mm headphone jack into it ( Most headphone's will fit but if you get something with a fatter head, it may not fit).

The look of the case is what was advertised - gives sort of a brushed metal look in the back and carbon fiber design around the camera. The raised lip should give you protection incase you drop it screen down onto the ground.
Maybe my fingers are wimpy but the edges of the case dig into my pinky when I'm texting and holding the phone for some periods of time but that's minor issue. The case itself is pretty thin and even with the case on the buttons are clicky and responsive.
The Choetech screen protector fits the screen but you will see that it is exactly the width of the screen so it has 0 forgiveness if you are slightly off. Mine is slightly off and I'm trying not to focus too much on it but it really friggin bugs me. I wish they would have made it slightly wider by a few mm's for a small % of error when applying.
Overall, it feels like glass and it doesn't get much finger prints on it. When if does, you can easily wipe is off with your shirt or a rag.
I'd definitely recommend the case and the screen protector but I will probably write a request to Choetech to see if they're willing to make the width of the screen protector bigger.
Good to see more TGSP that's properly cut to cover the LCD and actually sticks.
The case looks even better on a black pixel. Enjoy mate.

Best front screen protector?

Was there ever any concensus with what the best screen protection is for the xzp? There are a couple of threads but they are far too long and out of date. Thanks in advance.
P.s the case I'm using and love is the Rugged Armor case by Spigen.
I prefer the TPU screen protectors to tempered glass protectors. Easily available on AliExpress
Pros:
Cover the whole screen, including edges
Barely visible on the screen when applied (unlike other protectors)
Cheaper
Do not break
Cons:
Difficult to apply (not that difficult though)
Do not have olebophobic coating
Takes 12 hours for smaller bubbles to disappear
Thanks, I'll have a look at that.
There are several TPU cases... Does you've a link to this item?
Can someone post edge to edge screen protector recommendation please
Has anyone tried this one?
https://panzerglass.com/screen-prot...ors/panzerglass-premium-sony-xperia-xz-black/
Can confirm the one above is quite good, slight curve on edges. Only issue is it lifts from edges in tight case like spigen

I use a TPU screen protector. It's the best for covering the whole screen.
The biggest con for me is that it is a piece of plastic and using the screen isn't as smooth due to the texture of TPU.
But still highly recommended for the protection it provides!
May I know what screen protector do you use?
I use hydrogel screen protector.
It's nearly invisible, after I applied it I literally thought I did something wrong.
It is not a good option if you have a habit of dropping your phone, I doubt it will help in this case, but it's amazing, it feels very pleasant, it hides existing small scratches, you have less fingers prints and material is self-recovering, small scratches arw gone after 24hours.
I’m using Skinomi screen protector, it protects the screen perfectly, no bubble and invisible.

Rhinoshield Screen Protector & Case

Hey y'all,
Just got a Pixel 4a and thought I'd post some of my experience with some accessories since we are all getting new phones here.
Way back when I got my Oneplus One, RhinoShield came out with a screen protector that I really liked have got one for every phone since. They have videos of hammering the screen as hard as they can and in my experience, that video matches reality. Obviously don't go around hitting your phone with a hammer, but I have done that several times still Here is my review of the Rhinoshield for the Nexus 5X: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/accessories/review-rhinoshield-case-bumper-screen-t3340693 (they've improved/fixed all my concerns I had back then years ago)
The screen protector has excellent clarity, and the camera cut out is well done.

They added some extra space on the bottom so the swipe up gestures on the new versions of Android are natural.
It's a plastic screen protector, which means it won't crack like the glass ones always do. From having these protectors for over 7 years, they do eventually scratch but I prefer some little scratches to a glass screen protector cracking constantly. And from working at BestBuy Mobile, my experience is that the glass protectors don't provide much impact protection to the actual phone's glass.
The installation is pretty easy. They provide a kit with a microfiber cloth and dust stickers.
I got some of their cases this time around since the Pixel 4a is so small. I haven't had a case on my phones for years (only the Rhinoshield screen protector), but thought I'd give the case a try and I really glad I did because I would have bent my phone in half without it the other week on a hike (more details further down).
Here's all the stuff I got:
I got their carbon fiber case:
So I went hiking the other week and I had this case on my Pixel 4a. On the way down the mountain, I slipped on some rocky terrain while the phone was in my back pocket with the back of the phone facing away from me. I landed with the back pocket hitting the edge of a flat rock. It must have put some pretty big forces on the phone because it actually bent the phone a little!! It bent it as if you put the phone screen up on the edge of a desk with half of it leaning off the desk, then pushing down on the phone that is off the desk.
Luckily, the case protected the phone well enough where I could bend the phone back to normal easily. Other than some indention marks on the back of the case (only visible at the right angle) everything is all good! The carbon fiber is a great backing. Pixel 4a's do naturally bend pretty easy (judging from how easy it is to bend it with my hands). I'm glad the Pixel 4a does have a good amount of bending tolerance because I could see the screen separating from the body such a little before I bent it back. I'm also glad I had mine protected decently! I've been using it for a while now and it's all good!

Accessories What screen protector do you guys use?

I am looking for a screen protector
- with no front camera cutout
- that supports fingerprint unlock
What did you guys buy? What do you recomend?
Using the nilkin ones, but they don't cover the full glass and has a black bezel. I usually don't like those with the bezels as they seem to have something to hide there. Switching over to a full glass with UV glue one in a week's time, fingers crossed.
the nilkin ones have no cutouts and fingerprint works perfectly. similar to the full glass one that i just bought.
both bought on my local ecommerce store, but here's the link anyway for the full glass one, https://shopee.sg/Full-Cover-UV-Tem...reen-Protective-Glass-i.262589788.13832922399

Thanks, I might get some nilkin.
Also please report back to us about the tempered glass with UV glue once you get it.
The nilkin one isn't really tempered glass though, and after some time, it yellows out but not too big of an issue for me, was just surprised when I took it out.
The UV tempered one feels great and I love that it does not have the black bezel. However, not sure if it is just this brand or me but the glue might not have cured well, and the edges are coming off.

However, everything else is working great. In fact the front camera is better when compared to the nilkin one which causes a bit of a flare, wasn't too sure if it was like that from the start since I don't use the cameras often.
So currently I have switched back to the nilkin one, and noticed that the provided kit is slightly off, you'd need to shift it higher a little and it would be great which was what I did.
I guess the quest for SP has come to a pause for now.
But I did go on a bit of a hunt for the SP and their review, and with this being a China phone, the best place to search was on Taobao, and see if I can find something similar on Aliexpress. Finds below.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004346010642.html - one of the top ones, and seems pretty decent but pricier, from SmartDevil
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003187657681.html - 50/50 on this since the description images were similar and all, but that's about it. reviews from a russian didn't seem too good though.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003142091232.html - this looks okay, in terms of review but it might be one of those which only has glue around the edges, and you have a thin gap between the glass and the phone.
Apart from that, some learnings for the UV application ones.
It removes very well, and pretty much like a regular SP, kinda just a bit more DIY where the factory doesn't set the glue for you and the protector sheet (pretty smart, and cost-saving for them IMO)
When applying the glue down, videos show to have one big puddle in the middle or 3 smaller ones along the long axis of the phone. You have to make sure that your phone is leveled and not tilted else it will just flow off.
You have to then accurately set the glass down, and not move it or even press on it as this is what causes the bubbles, I've learnt.
Thereafter, apply the UV for a good 10 minutes without touching the device.
For the bubbles, what I tried was pressing them out to the side, and trying to fill with more of the liquid but doesn't quite work as well. That's it for now.
