Eclipse 1.1 can't connect wifi - Motorola Droid X2

I was on .8 and wifi worked perfectly.
Just upgraded to 1.1 then did the patch and then the delete rotate toggle.
Now I can't connect to my home wifi network. It goes through everything like its going to connect then says disabled and remembered.
I can connect from all my laptops and my droid x with no issues. Just can't with this phone after the update.
I wiped and cleared cache. Then factory reset to get it from doing the boot screen loop.

I read it multiple times. I didn't read the 100 pages though.
I did exactly as it said. And I forgot a step. I did reset to gb first...
But thanks for using caps just in case I can't read normal case letters.

lol, I had to give you a "thanks" for that! You got it working then?

No need to be some brutal. In the time it took you to type that useless post, you could've just simply answered him, and moved on in life.
Anyways, like ash said, you have to be on 2.3.4 before flashing the newest eclipse. I SBF'd to 2.3.4 first, then used Pete's One Click root and the bootstrap recovery app.

Droid 3 one click = petes one click root method for ALL moto devices running gingerbread.
BUT apparently it wont work for bionic on 2.3.4
other than that exception it works just fine for all others on 2.3.x
But now moto users have a way to MAINTAIN ROOT across updates without having to use any exploit program.
Just be stock rooted make the mods and update. Check dev forum for thread to maintain toot across updates.

Or I could have reported his post to a mod, had him issued a warning for obviously not reading and searching. I used caps because it is written in normal case 500000000 other places so apparently he CAN'T read it. Read the rules. It clearly states that if people post the same topic they are subject to a temporary ban. Next time I will try to make that happen since you all think using caps is way too harsh.

All I am saying is there are worse things than caps. Judging by his response, he read the caps, he was annoyed by it, but he went back and read the instructions and fixed it himself. I got him his answer while teaching him to look for himself. It worked. Furthermore in the future I am willing to bet he will read and search before posting. I am sorry if my methods make me seem like a jerk, but the desired effect was achieved and I am satisfied with the results.

[Q] Completely stuck.

I have tried running the new 1.83 update that came over the air.
It downloaded just fine, then took me to a screen and a progress started.
After the progress bar made it about 1/3 the way across the screen, it stopped, the bar disappeared, and the icon changed to a ! in a triangle over an android.
I'm currently using Gingerblur overtop 1.57. I live in China, and most of the links to anything useful to download, are dead.
I would like to update my phone, but I think I might need to get it back to completely stock. Is there any way to do that?
This is more than frustrating, to say the least. Clicking on more and more "this site can not be found" links has not been helping either.
Thanks for any help, in advance.

Edit.
Found this in the general forums.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061292
it's about updating with a motorola updater. I'm downloading it now.
Another post mentioned stuff about the official updater saying it failed to update, but then showing it had updated, or something to that effect.
I've yet to finish the initial software download, so I'm not sure how it'll go.
Anyone else with the same problem, now you have a link to try out.

you have to sbf back to stock with rsd lite.
then update

I had the same issue too except I was on 1.5.7 and had greyblurr. When I did a fresh flash back to 1.2.6 to go to 1.5.7 and tried to do the update it was finally successfull. Give that a try and it should work!

[Q] New and I need some help

Ok, So pretty much what I have here is the Droid x2 and I want to root it, BUT, I don't know how and I don't want to screw my phone up, so I'm looking for someone to explain in detail step by step how to do it because then I can do it on my own from there, any help would be great, i'm just looking for a textbook definition and a simple step by step process on how to do this without bricking my phone, again any help with be great thanks.
I think you may find this thread useful, if not have a good look around the Droid Incredible forums as this thread came from there.
I was just looking for someone who could explain how to root and the whole process kinda from scratch because there are hundreds of threads to look through and that's just asking for eye sores.. I'm just looking for someone who can explain how to get the files I need and the whole process in a simple 1,2,3 step manner...

go there.
It says one click root for droid3 but it is same for all moto devices running gingerbread.
just be sure u are on Android version 2.3.3 or 2.3.4
U can verify ur android version by going to settings >about phone> android version
if u are on 2.2.2 then press the button on top of about phone that says system updates and follow instructions to update ur phone to gingerbread(2.3.x)
Good luck and make sure to follow ALL directions EXACTLY (feel free to pm me if u need help)
Thanks a lot, I'll take a look at it.
Ok, so I used the one click root and it worked... now im wondering, now that its rooted, What can i do with it, say change the button lay out and other stuff like that the theme, and so on
You can run ROMs on your phone now using boot strap recovery. I use Eclipse but there are other great ROMs available as well. Just make sure you understand what version of android each ROM works with.
Here is a thread to help you understand our recovery.

Do u mean the hardkey layout? I haven't seen a mod for that yet but it may be possible.
U can also now remove/freeze the bloat u don't use if u want((u know...those pesky apps that keep running even after u kill em. Taking up ram and just getting on ur nerves cuz u can't kill it. Like blockbuster, kindle, etc...)) there is a list in the forum of which are safe to freeze/remove.
Just be sure to read before u try. Then read again. Then some more. Then when u feel u r comfortable with what the mod does to ur phone, make sure u follow all directions EXACTLY and have fun and enjoy the different available mods, scripts, hacks, and of course Roms. U will be addicted in no time to flashing roms and making nandroid backups.
O yeah. Best thing u could EVER do right now is MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP using system recovery app from the link above. Trust me. U will be happy u did it when u end up needing one as we all have at one point.
I also recommend posting any question u have in this thread or a thread that pertains to ur question as starting a new thread wit a question that's been asked a hundred times wont get a good reaction

O well...
I find that "noobs' are more or less "afraid" that they will brick and are just looking for info and guidance on how NOT to do that.
But that's the great thing about these types of forums. If u don't wanna help then don't. There is no need to be mean. Im not saying that u or booked were outright mean but if u can see that the OP has already been pointed in the direction and/or is receive help them why post telling him to do everything himself when he obviously doesn't have to. I was a noon my self at one point and yeah I did a TON of reading and rereading but some things don't set in until its said specifically and I have asked my fair share of "noob" questions also. Everyone has to start somewhere.
I don't even know where im going with this other than just be respectful and be nice lol
I creeped these forums (and all others) for a good 6 months before I even laid my first post. I googled everything, and READ! And you know what? I learned a fair amount.
The last month has been horrible. You see the same question/scenario in almost every subforum on here. The problem is, Android exploded as well as "modding" and became popular, and now everybody is tinkering.
I've only been involved with android for a year and a half, but when I got in it was almost a 'niche' cult type of thing. It was kind of uncool because it wasn't an iPhone. I loved it, I actually miss it. I remember showing my friends what a DROID 1 was capable of with a custom overclocked kernel.

Speeding up the test build of Liberty

Would the scripts used to boost speed work on Liberty's test build? Mine has started to lag a bit and I was wondering if anyone has tried this yet.
I am willing to try it but I am at work and cannot plug in to flash it right now.

I assume you mean the SuperCharger script?
They work on pretty much any phone/build/ROM/etc. I haven't run into one yet that it flat-out doesn't work on. It is just changing the internals of how Android works, not adding anything additional.
The only hiccup would be how the tweaks are stuck so they persist across reboots. Should "just work" but there's some tips if it doesn't.
Yeah those would be the ones, I looked in the thread for speedy and I copied and pasted the init.d file from V6 into the system/ect file and rebooted twice.
It then says to look for the "itworks" file. But is see nothing. I will try to flash it when I get home but thank you for the answer!

Indeed. I found that thread a while back and spammed it all over my phone forums. Very good info. If you really want to get nerdy - How to configure Android's *internal* taskkiller - that got me into researching how Android works with memory internally. Someone suggested I was crazy for doing it manually, and I should just use zepp's script. They were right .

How do you know if my Droid X2 is Liberty or Eclipse?

Whats the difference on them or what I don't get it thanks in advance!!
Eclipse and liberty are just roms that you can flash onto your x2 if you have rooted your phone. If you or someone you know hasn't personally put them on your phone, then you'll have neither. It isn't something that would be on there from the manufacturer.

yes sir..u are VERY right.
all I am trying to say is try to NOT be harsh...some things can read harsher than intended when type.
im not trying to say u didn't or that no one is trying to help out.
but it is also inevitable, that people no matter what they have read, will still need that little bit of "extra" info on "what to do now"
especially since our X2 can be picky with what you do or the process you use to do it
I really just said what I did in hope to "preempt" any "mean spirited" replies.
imagine how u would like to be answered when entering a site and following the rules at least to not post questions in dev section and u really don't understand all these : ROM, SBF, OTA, root, p3's, su, busybox, CWM, bootstrap, recovery, stock, modded, etc... words and what they mean.
now im DEFINITELY NOT saying go ahead and write out exactly everything the person needs to do. I am just saying don't be harsh. not that u were. or anyone else in this thread((yet))
just saying a bit of guidance and clarification on things asked is nice to see....basically common courtesy.....
imagine how u felt or I felt or anyone feels entering this "world" of flash addicts who do this every day lol.
((now if this was posted in dev forum as new thread I would call the DAWGS and say have at em for not reading the rules at all Hahaha))(
I am sorry ..this post has gotten longer than intended and I have succumbed to rambling and being off topic. ....

file issues

So I tried to go from beans 1.8 to liquid smooth 2.5. Well I found it wasnt as easy as I thought. I thought I could switch roms and reinstall titanium back up and use the apps and data on the new rom. WRONG, so then I went to restore my beans backup, it was gone.
Am I correct in saying that the phone, system, twrp something creates a new file system for ne roms? Once I finally got back to beans I started looking around the file system and found a file labeled 0 within my sd card and it seems to be a mirror image of my original file. Any ideas?

So I tried to go from beans 1.8 to liquid smooth 2.5. Well I found it wasnt as easy as I thought. I thought I could switch roms and reinstall titanium back up and use the apps and data on the new rom. WRONG, so then I went to restore my beans backup, it was gone.

You have to flash the downgrade zip when going back to 4.1 from 4.2. Its I'm most of the 4.2 ROM OPs.
Also this is a question and should have been posted in Q&A not General.

I didn't even think to check his name. From now on out I'll let him do his own research.

My apologizes I have been schooled! I didnt realize I posted in the wrong forum. Wont happen again. As for not searching, the terms I thought where correct to search for where incorrect. I felt several hours was a sufficient time to seach before asking. Some of these terms you all know right off the top of your heads. I dont, dont assume im just leaching off your abilities. All your help is greatly appreciated. Dont mean to uppset the powers that be.

Just post one question at a time and we can try to help you. You make multiple different threads with all different questions, then we have no idea what your real issue is. Ask then patience.

It is posted in the OP of almost every AOSP ROM what to do when you go back to 4.1, you obviously didn't read the OP. I think its in droidstyles guide also but I may be wrong about that seeing as how I haven't checked it in a while.
No one knows all the terms; not me, not hopesrequiem, droidstyle, 1manwolfepack, kintwofan, or any of the others. The difference is we bust our asses to read everything before we jump in the deep end which you obviously didn't do. Its fine to ask questions if you need help or don't understand but there has been a large influx of brand new lazy users who do no research and want everything handed to them on a silver plate, making posts that show you barely read anything makes you appear like one.
Sorry if I butchered someone's name.

I understand and as I said it wont happen again. I had mentioned previously I had come from the samsung charge tweaked 3.2. Totally diffrent being able jump back and forth with it. But it was old and there where really no new roms available. So as you stated I jumped in feet 1st thinking things might be similar yet they are not. I did research and read. But not as thoroughly as I should and yes (I dont know any of your names) you all do put forth extreme effort in order to make the masses happy. And I will state again it is greatly appreciated.
I do not represent anybody other than myself in saying this, but coming from the device I had previously and it being so old and junping in feet 1st thinking I might be able to the same thing with this N2 is totally diffrent. So in turn questions where asked out of turn.
