[Q] Installing VillainROM 3.0

Hi a newbie here.
Recently i flashed my S2 with I9100XXKI3 and rooted it with CF-Root(CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KI3-42-v4.2-CWM4).
I wanted to Install a custom ROM and I chose Villain ROM 3.0.
As i read in the forum,
Went to CWM recovery mode,
1. Wiped Data
2. Wiped Cache
3. Wiped Dalvik
4. Select 'Install ZIP from SD Card'
5. Select 'Choose Zip from SD Card'
6. Reboot
The phone rebooted. The phone dint bootup. It was in the starting screen.
After 15 mins i rebooted the phone and went to CWM recovery mode.
There i found the /sdcard /cache etc are not accessable.
It errors out saying unable to mount /sdcard.
Then i reflashed to stock via odin and the stock is working fine.
Please help me on this.
Also dont tell me to search the forum for answer as i already did with 0 answers.
I tried installing Lightening rom... same issue please i need somebody to help me....

Where to start.. In CWM after save villain on SD, just flash update.zip?
Coming from Another ROM
Ensure CWM recovery is available, do a CWM/nandroid backup and titanium backup, and put the zip onto the root of the internal SD.
Enter CWM, carry out a factory reset, and cache wipe, and flash the ROM via "Install zip from SD" option.
Reboot the phone into VillainROM, bearing in mind the first boot may take some time on the boot animation.

1. download and copy the villian zip file to your sd card after making a back up of your data.
2. go into cwm- boot into recovery, clean cache. Stay in recovery mode.
3. go advanced and clean dalvik cache. Stay in recovery mode
4 select install zip file.
5. choose zip from sd card, scroll down to the zip file you have download.
6. select and agree to install.
7. let it install, scroll back up to reboot system.
8. rom will install it may take up to 5 minutes for the first install.
You can scrool up down in recovery mode by using the volume keys. power button or homke button selects depending on what version of cwm you have.
back button returns you back on screen.

[Q] Newbie question about flashing Roms

Hi...
I am from Portugal and i have my Optimus One in 2.3.3 stock, already rooted.
I am thinking in try the GTR v3x and some CM. (These roms are made for the new baseband?)
I want to someone correct me if these are not the right way of doing the process of flashing...
have a rooted device
instal rom manager
instal clockworkmod via rom manager.
copy .rar to the sd (root?)
turn off
Home + Vol Down + Power
wipe what the developer say and the flash it.
Also, i want to know if the process of flashing unlock the phone (SIM Locked)?
Sorry for opening the threat and thanks in advance
Hi,
Your process is correct, however I would do it a bit differently to be honest.
Yes, I would install clockwork mod through ROM Manager. And boot it up using home + vol dwn + power.
To navigate, use the menu button to move down, and home button to move up in CWM. The back button is for back and search button for select.
To prepare installing a rom, I would do these in order:
Code:
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Format /system/ by going into 'mounts and storage'
Wipe Dalvik Cache and Battery stats under 'Advanced'
Also, the rom should be a zip file, not a rar. I'm sure you meant zip in your post.
To flash the rom after wiping those stuff above^, just select 'Install zip from sd' from the main menu, and select the first option to select the zip file from your sd, and then find your rom.zip file and flash.
Then you're done. You can flash kernels and other stuff through this method too, just don't erase anything unless you're installing a new rom, as there's no need to.
Also make sure you have the right baseband for the rom

[Q] Is there a fix for lost vibration?

First of all, I'd like to apologize in advance if a similar thread has been made. I rooted my sister's SGS2. (i9100G) and she downloaded a ROM she said she wanted. Absent mindedly, I flashed it without knowing that it was an i9100 ROM. So it was stuck on the boot screen and I had to download an official GB firmware off sammobile.com . After I restored via Odin, her phone's vibration seemed to be lost. I tried calling her with vibration set to always and still no go. So is there anyone who knows the fix for this? It's pretty urgent because she's going back to her uni next week which is a few hours from where i am.. so yea. Any help would be very much appreciated!
you should root the phone, with any kernel that has CWMR.
then download any CWMR flashable rom. almost every coocked rom it is this way. place it in a folder inside your internal memory
Then in CWMR (volume up+home button+power button, when phone is off) you, wipe data/factory resets, wipe cache, wipe dalvik (sometimes is inside advance options), enter mounts&storage-->format /system
then choose select install zip from SD card. and select the rom u downloaded.
wipe cache and dalvik again
then go to reboot and see if it is fixed!
that should work...then u can flash any other rom trhough ODIN again

Help me please

Before you did the wipe data/factory reset did you happen to do a nano backup? If you didnt probably what you will have to do now is find the stock image and flash the stock rom back to it. There should be a thread about that for your phone.
no i didn t made it.CAN you pist the link of the tutorial?
Gimme a little im not near a computer
