If you want to stay with a mostly stock ROM with great speed look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913610
Root it, install JIT, delete any apps you don't want or need.
Then if it's still not quick enough, install setcpu to throttle the cpu.

even changing the default home launcher to LauncherPro can make a lot of difference...
You need to update to newest firmware, you can grab it on these forums.
Grab the pre-rooted, jit, etc version. That will be faster, mainly due to JIT, althoug it can take a couple of days to settle and reach full speed.
As you will be rooted you should then trim out unused stuff, how you do this is down to you, you could use Root Explorer to delete the APK's, or use Titanium Backup to get rid of them. If you use TB then you freeze them first to see if they really can go.
Root it install custom rom jit data2sd and you wil get 2560 on quadrant

Hey I'm using froyocomb in my mini pro and it sometimes get slow
So what is the best cpu settings for it so it goes fast and saves battery
Sorry for my confusing english
Sent from my mini pro running froyocomb by d4
Don't know either.
BUT you don't want to go to high. Just tried it and it froze the phone, resulting in reboot after reboot.
How you getting on

Its pretty fast and it doesn't waste that much battery but when I use the wi fi based apps it drains quickly
But I'm really happy with the results so thank ypu kormatoes

Hey he anyone is still interested in good cpu settings try downloading the app called set cpu it lets you set your cpu to the speed you want when you use it and you can set profiles like when the screen in off it automatically changes the speed of the cpu very low so it doesnt waste too much battery
Sorry for my bad english

My little bro had 748 Mhz on his Pro and it ran ok but he changed to 729Mhz and it very rarely reboots. He's also running FroyoComb
Each processor, even the same model is different, an overclocked 800 poddra without restarting, while another can sear 750.
You should set your CPU as much if you play games that require high performance or not, etc ...
I hope I have helped.
Sorry for my bad English
So what governer do you guys recommend? PLease do add in what I/O schduler too thanks a bunch
I using the interactiveX, fast and stable)

VR or Simple
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369817
All governors and everything related is explained in this post.
I think smartassv2/noop is a good combo... It has a good battery/performance ratio.
also savagedzen/sio isn't bad....
Please dont post questions in the Development Section...You have the General Section for that...I request the Moderator to move this thread to the general section...Thank you... nd regarding ur question...I use "SmartassV2" without tweaking the I/O scheduler...
For this chipset i like SMartassV2 & deadline (SUPER FAST+STABLE)
But 4 Gaming its nice to hv Lagfree & VR (DEADLY FAST+...NOt SO STABLE , especially if u overclock also they might be heat issues)

+ 1. SmartassV2 is also not bad, but an idea less stable maybe.

errr. i thought i posted this in the general section?? seriously i thought i did..
on the other note. smartassv2 seems to be used by many. i shall give it a try
So i tested out the recommended settings from you guys
XPERIA MINI . ST15 . antutu benchmark scores . over clocked my cpu to 1516 with voltage control.
my current set up interactivex/sio (score 3951)
savagedzen/sio (score 3911)
smartassv2/noop (score 3991)
smartassv2/deadline (score 3953 )
lagfree/vr (score 3953)
not sure whether antutu is best app to test out but yeah.. lol btr than nth i guess
1.5GHz is not the best frequency for the Mini - it causes the CPU to freeze frequently. Even 1.4GHz frequency is not the best. 1,3GHz and interactive governor is the optimum for my Mini - fast, responsive, no lag, no freezing, 2 days of battery life.

seriously watch out with OC that high.
You can easily fry your mainboard/CPU and than it's goodby mini. Better have a mini that work's than having a fried mini...
at least watch the temperature.
just my 2 cents...

hey man thanks. i didnt really know what freq to set it to.. what would you recommend. the guy above ur post said 1.3 is good. agree?
First of all, ask yourself do you REALLY need OC. Or are you just doing it because you can
I personally think the mini is sufficiently fast on it's own?
But if you must OC then install a temperature monitoring app and let it warn you when the phone gets exceedingly hot.
Because if you play a game while OC-ed, the temp might jump real fast real high.
And by the time you figure that, the phone could fry.
I definitely wouldn't go over 1.5GHz. Even that's real high. 1.3GHz seems to be ok though
I run 1.8 with Brazilianwaw & bfq 24/7
With smartass2 can't pass 1.6

wow 1.8 ? thats crazy...
btw how do we know that our phones are overheating?? mine is usually around 28-35 on normal usage but when gaming it goes to around 40++ is that ok?
I think 50C would be maximum... Still don't keep it at 50C all the time.
There is no safe stuff.
Overclocking is dangerous in every damn way.
No one wants to brick their phone, they don't play with OC. Besides, performance boost is quite small, pointless to waste the juice.

yeah i agree.. oc is always dangerous.. but on the performance side.. i do feel it.. apps quit a lot faster and launch faster..
a random question but does GO launcher slows down my system?? Is it better to stick to the original launcher?
Hi people,
This thing is really bothering me a lot! I know what overclocking your cpu is but I really don't understand what's the exact advantage and disadvantage of it?
I mean when should we overclock our devices? While charging? While doing multitasking? Or while playing games?
Please.. I need some guidance on it!
Thanks in advance!
Advantage....

overclocking actually increases your processor speed so basically you overclock when u r playing HD games or while multitasking...
Disadvantage ...
you may damage your hardware if u constantly overclock.... so be very careful while overclocking....

Don't get me rude, but, no you don't know what OC is, since you need to ask this question.

While charging?? You think it will charge up faster?
Anw, as much as it's good, it's bad.
It's "same" in PC's and phones, why I say "same"? PC have one advantage, we call it cooler and vent's.
To get better info on OC: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=overclocking+pros+and+cons
Overclocking is basically making your phone's processor faster than it should be.
Advantages: Faster phone.
Disadvantages: Short life span of phone
Normally, if I overclock, I only increase it to a little more than My processor's stock speed and set the governor to ondemand. Ondemand means only if your phone requires more power it will use more. Be careful though, and DON'T go crazy with the overclocking
You only need to know one thing for overclocking
Never do it if you don't lag like E#@.
I am on stock Rom, kernel.. Rooted.. Locked BL. I underclock my phone frequently. Sometimes I overclock to 1ghz. Wil it damage hardware and cause less lifespan

Read definition of overclocking
1GHz is not overclock, since its made to work on 1GHz by default.
Besides it can't damage it if (again) its made to work on 1GHz.
Does overclocking consumes more battery ?

yes :crying: it does consume more battery as cpu always remains at higher frequencies so all the androidians keeps there devices a bit underclocked so to have a good battery life!!
dont forget to press the thanks button!!
I bought xperia s and i really love it!
I unlocked and rooted it, i'm using miui and i like it more than stock rom, but it's a littld fat... i prefer smooth, slim roms.
Wich is lighter and faster?
Second question...
Cpu is 1,5Ghz dual core... i want lowerclock it, because i use it so much and i won't waste all the battery... as i'm not able to find the bettere lowerclock but responsive conf. can u tell me one? Of course i'll unable it when i use big apps in phone..
Sorry for my bad english
First you need to ask in Q&A forum.
If you are rooted you can download nofrills cpu from playstore and under-clock the cpu to 192mhz but this could freeze your phone so you have to try it.
For roms there is only 2-3 available so try all and choose by yourself.
