[Q] which voicemail app do you use?

I believe I've tried every one on the market, and they all seem unstable and shakey to me. Except for tmobile visual, but the UI for that makes me sick.
Can anyone share any voicemail apps you may have found outside the market, or even from they market that alot of people may not know about?
Sent from my pocket rocket!
Why don't you try out Google Voice for your voicemail? It's really easy to set up and you even get voicemails transcribed for you.
Unstable and shaky?
I use google voice to handle my voice mail and works great.

[Q] VOICEMAIL HELP please

So I got the Note. I rooted and have a kernel and ROM. But when I switched to Go Launcher I lost my voicemail shortcut. I would like the voicemail icon that shows a number popup on it showing you have a new voicemail, and would like to have the voicemail that downloads to your phone and you just play the message by clicking which voicemail you want to hear without actually dialing your voicemail. I had this on my Epic Touch.

If you have an online account with AT&T you can use the Message or also know as "AT&T Messages."
Alternatively you can try and download this app from GSLEON3 in the vivid section. This might work for visual voicemail

Or you can use Google Voice, YouMail, etc.
Also there are numerous threads about visual voicemail already with this same exact questions and fixes. Please use the search next time before creating a new thread.

I'm in the same boat. I never even looked at the Note before root and GoLauncher, so I don't know what the app/widget looked like. The fact that it has visual voicemail, and some sort of indicator, I presume it is a widget. I can't find it though...
I presume AT&T Messages from the Market is not the same thing as the one that is one the phone?
I also searched through all fo the apps on the phone and only see AT&T Messages.
Edit: Nevermind the above--the Note is not bundled with VVM. Do not install the AT&T Messages--someone reported that it removes your VVM provision. Instead, go to this thread and install the .apk. I just did and it's all good...

[Q] Which Voicemail App should I use on my GNote?

I am coming from an iPhone 3GS (ios 5) to the ATT GNote (stock ROM) and I am confused by the various voicemail app options available for the GNote. I was happy with the iPhone voicemail (visual voicemail?) and would prefer similar functionality (or better) on my GNote.
My GNote has two apps that came with it -- Messages and Messaging. Does one of these apps have good voicemail functionality, or should I consider other apps?
What are the options available to me (without rooting) and what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?
the messaging app don't do voicemail the at&t messages does but it also lumps phone calls and text messages into the same app,I like the at&t messages app because it gives me voicemails in text, another option is visual voicemail, there is another post going about getting that to work.
I have read favorable reviews of the Google Voice app and the AT&T Visual Voicemail app.
How do these two compare with each other as visual voicemail apps and with iPhone visual voicemail?
Does AT&T Visual Voicemail installation requiring rooting?
Use the AT&T visual voicemail app. not root required and I have it working fine on my Galaxy Note & Galaxy SII.
Use the one from this forum called. VVM_GSLEON3.apk that's the one I used and its 100% working.

ATT Visual VM is the easiest and is most like Iphone visual voice mail.
Google Voice is another category. Visual voicemail is just one component of google voice. Visit Google's website dedicated to google voice if you want to explore what else it does.
Else; for simple visual VM; use ATT's solution.
There is no comparison between gv for VM and att vvm. GV is way better, but I'm using att right now because our business has a GV number and I'm one of the forwarding phones.

youmail

ps I have also used Google Voice for vm and did like that as well !!

I also use GV and find it much better. But GV is not Just Visual Voice mail. If you just want VVM there are alternatives. To use GV just for the VM feature (which many people do) is sort of overkill. An Avg user may be intimidated with the setup compared to coming from the rather simple iphone VVM.

There is GV lite. It's sort of the point.

To clarify, while Google Voice does have other functionality available, you can choose to only use the vm feature.
Also, on the Note, many of us have noted that the standard setup fails when it tries to change your vm dial number. In order to install it correctly, you should do it from the Google Voice web page instead of from within the app.
I use Google Voice.
It sets up with ease and is backed by GOOGLE.
Nuff said for me!

Visual voicemail

Does anyone were to get the apk for visual voicemail, I have Saurom rom.
Search the market. Im pretty sure its there
It wont show up on the market for the note.
This is the link to the thread in this form for it and it does work IF ATT has you set correctly.

Visual Voicemail
I was trying to use visual voicemail on my GS2 Skyrocket and then again on the G-Note. In both cases, it was a b#$% to set up and it did not work reliably. Had to go to the At&t store a couple of time and have them reset a bunch of stuff.
I ended up using my Google voice number for voice mail. You can set it up to forward to that number. You get way better performance and feature, i.e. you can listen to your VM on a computer too. It can also email or text you a transcript of the voicemail, etc.
The only weird thing is that when someone calls it seems to call you twice, but it's just re-directing to Google Voice the second time.

[Q] Anyone manage to get Google Voice voicemail integrated into the call log/dialer

I just upgraded from my Samsung Captivate which was running CM10 to the HTC One. One of the things I loved about the old phone was that all my voicemails would show up in my call log and I could play them from there. When I tried setting up GV on the new phone, I got a bunch of error messages and somehow the phone removed my old call forwarding rules and then couldn't reapply them. So I logged out of the Google Voice app and tried again. No dice. Finally, I went back and did it the old fashioned way by manually typing in the MMI code and managed to get the calls forwarded again to GV. When I went to the dialer app to manually switch the voicemail provider to GV, I again get the error messages and when it asks to still switch to the new provider I click OK. However, it kicks out another error message and then shows that nothing has changed and still lists AT&T as the default voicemail provider. So, has anyone managed to get this working properly or have AT&T and HTC once again colluded to completely bork functionality that works oh so well on stock Android?
Just got a response to my support request from HTC. Laughably, they claim they "cannot guarantee full functionality with Play Store applications." That is pretty pathetic. In their quest to differentiate, they eliminated one of the best features of Android in my mind. I hated dialing numbers and using the dialpad to access and control voicemail years ago. When Google made Google Voice available on Android, it was one of the factors that made me choose it over the iPhone. Then they made it even better than visual VM on iOS by integrating it into the dialer. This dialer from HTC is a huge step in the wrong direction. I don't need all this FB and Twitter integration crap. Just let me access my VM in the best possible way.
I have it working but I never got it to work using the Google voice app configuration.
It was still working when I swapped my son card to the HTC one from my gs3.
I had to go into the phone app and change the forwarding numbers manually. Also the voice mail number.
If that doesn't work I think you can contact at&t and they can fix it for you.
Wait...you have your Google voice voicemails showing up in the dialer app so that you can click play and listen to them without going into the GV app? I did manage to get the forwarding set up, but I want the voicemails to show in the dialer like they did on CM10.
Not working on Sprint and HTC One either

Same issue, voicemail set up, but I can not get the call log to show voicemails. Tried unchecking voicemail display as indicated in other forums, but doesn't work either way.
Bump...no dialer integration or notifications is a big problem for me as well.
Instead of making a new thread I will just bump this one. Did anyone managed to get they HTC One to integrate Google Voice visual voicemail into the dialer? I searched everywhere but couldn't find any info on that.
Maybe there are any 3rd party modifications that can fix this issue?
p.s Just to clear things for someone who reads between the lines my GV Voicemail is working fine, what I am trying to figure out is how to integrate it into dialer and get visual voicemail from there.

No luck. I stopped trying. I may give it another go.
Just installed ARHD Google edition Rom and visual google voice voicemail works great in there, but I prefer Sense based Rom so will go back to it. Shame visual voicemail doesn't work on it, seems like HTC broke the compatibility.
If anyone knows a solution that would be great!
