If I use the stock alarm it's ok, but if I use alarm clock plus (which I prefer and can use voice search commands to set the alarm) the alarm volume is too low.
Anyone else?
Is there a fix?
Can someone recommend an alarm app that can actually wake me up and can be set with voice commands?

Stock alarm only plays alarm once, and thats it. So if I'm a deep sleeper, then im obviously not gonna hear it.
Anyone know any alarm apps that play the alarm ringtone over and over and over again UNTIL you dismiss or snooze it?

Are you sure about that?
It does allow snooze, may be you switched it off while asleep and forgot it, happen to me a few times.
Yeah, it only plays once and thats it. snooze and dismiss button remain there, but no more ringing after the first ring..
i use Alarm Klock and find it works very well. you can choose the alarm tone, set many alarms and snooze time is variable. It also has a slider function for turning the alarm off, so it cant be done while half asleep ;-)
Alarm klock works perfectly the way I needed it, thanks a lot for ur contribution
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Alarms 1.1
"Sanfter Wecker" is a very useful Alarm Clock. The best thing about is that you can adjust the alarm volume because the standard alarm is way too loud.
You can test it before you buy it. There is a test version available on the market.
Try Math alarm clock (com.av.mac.apk).
The stock alarm is very weak. What is the point of the snooze when it rings once? and they have a time setting for the snooze which I find is pointless. I set it at five minutes but nothing happens.
I am using Alarm Clock Xtreme, which has lots of settings perfect for me.
+1
Alarm clock extreme is the best alarm. Very customizable.
AlarmDroid'd make you happy then : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.splunchy.android.alarmclock
Hello,
did anyone figure out, how to adjust the volume of the original alarm clock?
It is terrible to get woken up by such a high volume... I can't figure out how to adjust it. There is no menu in the alam clock app as on the default android app, pressing the volume buttons inside the alarm clock only adjust ring volume... no way to set it in settings, notification volume also doesn't affect the alarm volume level.
Any clues?
best,
sunnnny
try with AudioManager. You can find it in the market
I replaced my original alarm clock with "Alarm Klock" - much more customisable and can set the volume to a percentage of the notification volume as well as fading it up. You can also alter your snooze length - which is perfect as I like mine at 7 mins!

AudioManager adjusts the alarm volume of android - but the SE alarm clock ignored it
So - no luck. Apparently I really have to use an alternative alarm clock.
Will try "Alarm Klock" next, thanks!
I want to use an NFC tag to trigger a timer but I don't want to use a sound other than the default alarm sound. Can someone tell me how to change the default alarm sound? I could only find calls and notifications in the settings.
Thanks!
Nevermind, it was under 'Personalize'
I canĀ“t find any option to change the default ringtone in the alarm. Is that possible? Thanks
In the default Alarm app, click on the alarm that you have set. Under Sound & Vibration, click on Alarm Sound and select your preferred alarm sound.

Thanks, but that works only on the alarms i already set, if i want to set an alarm with google voice it will use the default alarm again.
Someone should make it so the alarm can turn the phone on and alert like it's supposed to. (If your like me you don't have a regular alarm clock so hence the auto alarm power on feature.)
