Hmm...fastboot flash boot boot.img is correct command but why after restart you had stock kernel back is strange....1st time hear thiskind problem.

yes that is the right way and i did it exactly!i downloaded this boot file and flashed with fastboot........i can't understand why after a reboot the kernel doesn't stay there.....but when i flash it again and the phone starts, the custom kernel is used....why it doesn't stay there after reboot?
was your led indicator blue when you entered fastboot mode?
you could also ask it on the DooMKernel thread> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18566890#post18566890
ofcourse it was blue....i am telling you that it flashed OK and it worked fine just after flash......it is lost ONLY when i reboot my phone....

Try older version....v8 some bugs..but nothing to lose.
And your firmware is 2.3.4 yes?
Sent from my MT15i using Tapatalk
yes 2.3.4 i just tried v08 and it worked......when i tried the previous week the phone didn't even start.....but again with v08 after restart is starts with stock se kernel.....wtf??
Is V9 fully compatible with 2.3.4, no bugs?
Hmm...my knowledge is to small to help you. Sry.
But I wait if someone give you a solution for that. Try mayby wipe all? Is it possible?

First of all, I'd like to say hello to everybody, since I'm new here.
I went into some problems with my Xperia Neo. I unlocked the bootloader, made a backup with ClockWorkMod, wiped everything, flashed the CM 7 ROM, it gave me a software boot loop, so I went back to CWM, wiped everything again, and restored from the backup, but now it's frozen at the "Sony Ericsson" logo. Any suggestions?
Any help appreciated.
attaching 'adb logcat' files for both CM 7 ROM and restored original firmware. View attachment logcat.rar
When you flashed cm7, did you flashed proper kernel too?

No. Kernel is included already in zip fail. Simply extract this zip..take fail called "boot.img" plase it fastboot folder, connct your phone in fastboot mode(blue led) then open cmd in fastboot folder and type "fastboot boot boot.img"
Boot.img fail is your kernel.
Then disconnect your phone and reboot to recovery and flash your rom.

oh.. in that case i did it with CM 7
whew.. i went through the whole process again, but this time i flashed UltimateMIUI ROM.. my phone's alive again!
ok, everything's working fine so far, but i've encountered a couple of problems. the android.process.media keeps on force closing when i try to download something from market, thus closing the market itself. the other problem is that the leftmost and bottommost sides of the screen are not responsive to touch. any solutions?
thanks in advance.

did you read good and do this?
HOWTO
to flash cm7 rom you have to take 3 steps (after unpacking the 7z archive)
step 1 - copy update.zip to sdcard
step 2 - flash new kernel (always use the kernel provided in CM7 / it is incompatible with stock ROM)
ON PC - run fastboot flash boot boot.img (an black window will open and will stay open untill kernel is flashed)
ON PHONE - put phone in fastboot mode (power off then press lower right key and plug usb cable) and phone LED will light BLUE
step 3 - when phone is booting (first 5 seconds) press volume down key several times to enter recovery and choose apply update from sdcard
WARNING - if you used another rom (stock or custom) you have to wipe data or device will not boot
DOWNLOAD
look in my signature
please don't mirror (we want to have download conunt)
Hi
When you were installing CM7 on clockworkmod did you remeber to wipe everything? before you install the rom, on the first screen of clockworkmod you see wipe data and wipe cache. Wipe them both then go to advanced and wipe dalvic cache and battery stats, after that install CM7. So what should you do:
1. turn of phone
2. connect to pc on fastboot and flash kernel with built in recovery (Command: fastboot flash boot boot.img)
3. now disconnect phone and go to cwm and wipe everything like i said
4. install cm7
if works hit thanks ^^
btw. sony ericsson logo, seems like you didnt even flash kernel?
Since u are saying u seeing sony ericsson logo seems u didnt flash kernel properly, use flashtool in xperia neo dev section makes things way easier.

just flash that kernel via fastboot. don't use apps to flash kernels
fastboot flash boot nameOfKernel.img
I think you forgot to flash the custom kernel, cos if you flashed the CM kernel it should not show Sony Ericsson boot logo,it should show CM boot logo
update
I flashed .42 firmware again using flashtool and the device is now working
Now i realized that the problem was that i didn't properly unlock the bootloader...what i want now is a way to unlock it..bcz everytime i try it gives me this error

finished. total time: 0.003s

Your screen doesn't work at all when you reboot? After flashing Advanced Stock ICS Kernel I had to access the recovery (when booting regularly the led will light blue, the notification bar will glow and the phone will buzz once, all at the same time, at that instant press volume up), and flash the kernel again but in zip format.
If the screen doesn't work I'd try flashing the kernel again and if the problem remains just re-flash a stock firmware with Flashtool and then flash the kernel again. Going in recovery to reflash ics15.zip after using fastboot will be necessary though.
Odd that you had to change the kernel name, flashing ics15.elf with fastboot worked for me.
thank god
Thank God you replied I'm almost scared to death.
I just plug in n now finally there's blue light n i can go into fastboot. T.T
I have to rename it cuz it doesn't work... so what do you type? do you download the fastboot?
Now what should i do? should try again? or redownload n reflash the advanced stock kernel or other kernel?
but the doomlord guide didn't say anything about booting into the recovery and reflash it or did i miss a step? cuz doomlord guide says type "fastboot reboot" thus is rebooting?
editk so i did reflash the advanced stock but after i type fastboot reboot it says rebooting... but it did nothing! not even a buzz

ok i'm keeping calm and everything but can i flash using fastboot into stock? like all stock firmware n rom n kernel? is there a guide?
Alright Thanks God it works now! I was in despair... but i guess you cannot type the fastboot reboot.
So what i did is reflash after it says okay! unplug ...and just turn it on normally. sorry for panicking
Hello!
I need some help: I tried flash a Custom Kernel (Lupus, FXP), but after flashing, I boot in to CWM (Or TWPR, in Lupus), flash a ROM (For Xperia Z Jelly Bean, i tried Lupus and FXP (one include with rom), for a FXP 225 and CM9.1, i tried only FXP include in to rom).
But, when I reboot, Neo stucks in a Sony Logo and persist the old Kernel (The original kernel).
Anybody can help me?
Thanks

But I fastbooted the kernel, boot in to Recovery, flashed the ROM, and when I boot again to system, stuck in Sony Logo.
So, i fastbooted again the kernel, reboot and boot in to Android. But, when I reboot after, the kernel is missing and Neo stucked in Sony Logo again.

Not guys, I'm not use a Flashtool.
I used a CMD.
Command flashtool boot boot.img
The Kernel uploads to Neo, boot in to first time, I can access the Recovery and flash the Custom ROM. But, when I reboot again to access the Android, Neo stucks in a Sony Logo (Neo back to Stock Kernel!).
I'll try use the Flashtool. But this is strange, yesterday I flash using CMD in another Neo and works. Today, in my Neo (Daily use) not work...
Have a difference using a CMD or a Flashtool to flash a kernel?

Hi,
I have the problem with kernel, I'am using ViMiRo rom with dediacated kernel by mikhei777, but each time after phone reboot the old one kernel (nexus prime) is restored. So, each time after reboot I need to instal new kernel. I am doing that via fastboot.
What can be the reason, what to do?
Maybe wrong fastboot command ??
use - fastboot flash boot boot.img
don't use - fastboot boot boot.img
