i'm taking a guess in the dark, but when you hold vol up + pwr, that'll boot the device into qpst mode/diag mode and perhaps windows will show that is "QHSUSB_DLOAD" .. or the other thought is maybe dload is for Download mode?
Either way, perhaps a battery pull should reset the device then pressing only power should allow it to power on properly.
Hope that helps! Let us know!

It's help not really.
But i think your supposition that the Device was in a Download Mode, can be right.
I have take out the battery for one hour, put it in and without that i do anything, the red light was lighting weakly.
A press of the Buttons are without any reaction...
The only what it does, was on USB.
If i Plug it in, the PC recognize an Device "qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM". 8-10 seconds later, it will be disconnected itselfs and connected with the "QHSUSB_DLOAD".
I don't understand, what the programm "fastload" does. I've rootet the Evo without any failure, but the command "reboot-bootloader" with the pre-command " writesecureflag 3" seems to be killed my HTC...
Is there a driver for the Dload? Or any driver, that allows Fastboot or revolutionary to connect my htc, when it's in this mode? xDD

I was serching a little bit for this device and found another Thread.. it sounds like my problem...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041153
The driver works - but how can i switch the phone back in the normal mode?
They talking from JTAG and i have no Idea, how to use this...
Or should i send it back and hope, that they don't recognize ,that it was rootet before i make more damage on the HTC?

as a last ditch effort, the only solution i can suggest would be trying different combination of hardware buttons when booting or while the device is on or while pulling the battery.
after reading the thread you linked above, they confirmed what i suspected, nobody really knows a way to recovery out of this situation.
for whatever reason, the phone is booting into a deeper, very uncommon, level of diagnostics and its something very few ppl around here are familiar with.
i've never seen this mode and actually hope i never do!
might get lucky and somebody with inside or special knowledge will know how to navigate. otherwise, as far as this community goes, there isn't much i've seen posted around here to assist.

How do I know if my Thunderbird is KO'd

My wife has an HTC Thunderbolt -- its unrooted, stock. I wont turn on anymore -- let me clarify that statement.
I see the orange light flash under the grill. That's about it. Ive taken the battery out numerous times. On windows I get the notification the device is connected to the usb port, but I can't get so far along for adb to recognize there is a device attached.
I'm really stuck. Its charged as best as I can tell. Is this a battery issue, a dead phone? I wanted to flash back to stock or totally wipe the device, but I cant even get to that point.
Recommendations?
so what happens when you hold power? nothing?
hhave you tried power and volume up for bootloader mode?
When I hold power - I feel the phone just slightly vibrate after a few seconds but nothing happens after that. With power/volume up -- nothing happens. The orange light keeps flashing however for whatever that means. I'm thinking it has to be the battery. The orange led shows when plugged into the USB port, however nothing shows when not plugged into USB port.
If the phone isn't booting adb will not be usable, however if the computer shows that a device is connected it is most likely your bootloader. I would use the command "fastboot devices" in place of "adb devices" to try to detect functionality of the phone. If you are successful fastboot can be used to flash a full RUU package.
I appreciate all the help. I took it to a Verizon store and even with a new battery it would not boot. I did on the advice of the last post try fastboot devices and nothing showed up or nothing was listed with this command. Its looking pretty much hopeless.

[Q] AP Fastboot problem

I was downgrading from 4.0.4 to 2.3.5 and while flashing with RSDlite the battery suddely went down and it showed failure.
Since then I am not able to turn my phone on, nor even in the menu which shows the option of AP Fastboot.
When I plugin into the computer, it shows a white LED and nothing else. What should I do?

I have been seeing many threads here. One of them suggested to charge in AP fastboot mode using the buttons but that didn't work for me. I am yet to try the cable method.
Is there any other way out?
Guys, I cannot understand why users are trying to flash with low battery again and again. The problem is already known well, am I right?
So, put your device on the charger, NOT TO THE PC. Wait a while and check if it's charging. Maybe you are able to put the device into the fastboot mode only for a short moment, there you can shut it down pressing the power button shortly. The you should be able to charge it normally. If not, try a factory cable. AND at least: READ THE FORUMS!!!
Edit: And do NOT charge it with your PC! It will only charge with you charger.

My phone automatically boots in the fastboot mode and it shows battery low. I am not able to charge it.
I have been reading the forums and all the stuff I found is not working, that's why I made this new thread.
I think from fb mode press vol down and power. This should turn off and you may be able to charge. If not either get a factory lead made or make on yourself

doubt it, ive been trying endless methods to try make it work as waiting for factory cable from ebay is gonna be like 20-25working days, not counting the despatch of the item after 3 business days of payment being received. god that is soooooo long 4 me!! arghhhh
You'll need a factory cable to flash a new rom in order to charge ur razr. Do a factory cable forum search.
Don't be scared by the name, it's just a modified cable you do by yourself.
Good luck

I screwed something up trying to flash. I get back up sometimes but
Now my phone no longer charges. It also shows signal but cant
Do anything unless on wifi. I cant flash anything else to this phone.
I think it still charging in fastboot mode but it takes longer time. Try to charge it (in fastboot mode) for 3-4 hours. It works for me.

No I think it is looking like going on e bay or getting one made locally either by yourself or electronics shop
I have given my phone in a Motorola Service Centre. I will get it back next week, so now I just have to wait!

[Q] did s-off break my phone?

I tried to put s-off on my htc evo 4g lte, and it was putting it on my phone using command prompt. This sucks because my phone is messed up. it wont turn on. someone please help me! I can't use my phone. does someone have a solution to my problem.:crying:
little more info please. what version windows , linux. what happened exactly.
more info
i was installing s-off. i have a windows 7. i installed 32-bit. i cant turn on my phone no screen comes on my phone when i hold the power button. there are no lights flashing on the buttons at the bottom of my phone. when i plug my phone up to the computer it makes this sound to show that it's connected, but i cant try re-installing s-off because it wont find my device.
You might try going into your recovery and re-flashing from a back-up or to a new rom. That might do the trick, that is if you can make it that far, otherwise your going to have to figure out how to do it through command prompt.
If you are at a black screen but hear a sound when you plug it into your computer it sounds like you are stuck in download mode.
Here is the thread with the fix once they release it. You can check device manager to see if you are stuck in that mode. I think it will list your device as QHSUSB_DLOAD or something.

While waiting for the fix to be posted you could try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28020416&postcount=288 or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28009858&postcount=256
I had this happen to me when I ran it.
When the process gets to rebooting device. The phone goes blank. And it starts counting, saying it should take approx. 30 seconds.
After mine got to 200 seconds. i said WTF. And even though it said DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FREAKING DEVICE. I went ahead and held the power button until the computer made the beep noise as if a usb device was unplugged.
Held the button again until it cranked on. Came up, the computer recognized it again, and it continued on and I'm working with s-off no problems.

[HELP] [BRICKED] HTC Sensation XE

I've seen many posts about this but none of them actually has a solution that worked for me.
I have a Sensation XE, I don't know the cause of the problem exactly, but I had it on recovery and it discharged (deep discharge).
Now whenever I try to turn it on, the red led on the left top corner turns on, sometimes the device vibrates, but the screen stays off.
I tried to go into bootloader but with no luck, same for recovery.
The charging orange led does light up when the device is plugged in, and I've checked the battery, it's functional. I even tried another battery just to make sure.
I tried to charge it overnight, and I tried to charge the battery on it's own, with no luck.
One thing I found right before I post this is charging the phone with the battery out!
Now I don't know how that might help as the device doesn't boot with no battery, but I tried it anyways just to make sure I haven't left anything to chance, and it didn't work.
This thread might come in handy for other people with the same situation.
Windows 7 recognizes the device when plugged in as "Android ADB Interface" but when I use "adb devices" it doesn't show anything.
I tried the Sensation Unbricking Project, the terminal always said "Bricked device found on." but it doesn't give me the next line "sdX", I think it doesn't recognize the device.
In the video when the device is plugged in, Ubuntu immediately recognizes it and it even opens up the device's files, that does not happen with my device.
I don't remember exactly my bootloader information, but I think my HBOOT version is 1.27, not sure about that.
I have bootloader unlocked with S-ON, and I had a custom ROM running for over 3 months when all this happened.
I hope you have all the info you need to help me, if not just ask me, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Stuck with a hard-bricked Note 3 Pro

Hey guys. I'll try to keep this brief. I bought a Redmi Note 3 Pro "global edition" online, which says it supports my carrier's bands. It got here, but it wasn't working with my SIM (said something about a network error). From what I found, it seemed to be because of the ROM that came with it (it didn't allow me to select any English speaking country from the list during setup). So I found the one I needed, followed some highly rated instructions to flash it, and it got stuck at like 99% with an error. That's when the phone seemingly hard-bricked. No display whatsoever, any combination of buttons held down did nothing. The only thing was a red flashing LED (when power button held or when plugged in). It is detected by my computers in device manager, but only comes up as "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E", which doesn't allow me to flash it or really do anything with it on the computer. I've tried literally everything I could find about it, both software-wise and hardware; I made a deep flash cable, tried it multiple times to no avail. Then I finally took the phone apart to get at the testpoint; it did nothing besides cause the red LED to flicker a little in its pattern. I've contacted a bunch of phone repair places near me, but none seem to be able to do anything for me. Do I have any options left at this point?

Nope. Literally nothing I do will get anything to come up on the screen.
Bump
if you're in 900e, means the phone is prolly not dead. remove the back, get to your board, plug it to your pc and keep on holding your tweezers until the pc recognizes it as a 9008 device. then just use flash tool. it takes time, u should be patient. refer to the vid
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDLV4LdEBHk
this thing is pretty unbreakable, unless its really fried, in which case, well, trash it
this is soft brick , not to worry , the flashing red is EDL mode ...this guide is for note 3 pro but will work with you http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html

Alright, I was just using a flimsy wire before but I do have a good pair of tweezers coming in the mail. I'll give it another shot as soon as I get those.

I appreciate the effort, but I'm positive it's not in EDL mode. I've looked at just about every guide out there, including that one. It isn't detected by XiaoMiFlash, and I can't get it into actual EDL mode either.
Thanks guys
it wont work with miflash if it's not in 9008 mode which is effectively edl. as far as tweezers go, i used a safety pin and it worked fine. it will work, just repeat the process a few times
