[Q] Arabic fonts

Hey guys, I have a Samsung Galaxy Vibrant from T-Mobile. I was successfully able to root it and able to load the Clockwork Recovery from Rom Manager. I'm wondering if there is a possiblilty to load Arabic fonts on this phone with the letters fully connected. I tried looking up a CM rom to load then flashing an Arabic package (as various Android phones from T-Mobile does this), however, there is no CM. So is there a different way, perferably one that allows me to keep my current 2.1 update software?
Hi,
I notice it is possible to change the default fonts file to another one. So I think what about to change a font include Arabic characters? I'm not sure about it , But you can have a try..

Arabic support for Thunderbolt on 2.3.4?

Hi All,
First of all, I DID do a search and nothing turned up. I also don't know which sub-forum this needs to go under, so mods please feel free to move it to a better location.
Note: I know there are other Android phones out there that have Arabic language packs, but it was not at all clear if those same packs would work on the Thunderbolt, and even less clear if they would work on the STOCK 2.3.4 update.
The basics:
Thunderbolt running 2.3.4 STOCK rooted and ready to go.
ClockworkMod recovery installed
So far the ONLY way for me to read Arabic properly is using Opera Mobile. However this only works for browsing sites like aljazeera.net. The system itself doesn't support Arabic entirely with apps like the Webkit browser, and text messaging showing the letters in LTR rather than RTL and disjoint.
Since I have a rooted device running the latest official stock rom (2.3.4) I figured now is the time to investigate.
Can anyone please help? Thanx
bump, i would appreciate knowing this as well. anyway to get arabic support without rooting or changing rom?
there isn't really something arabic specific for the thunderbolt, but you can download fonts/keyboards to give support.
font wise, download "Mirsal" from Market, then get a keyboard like "Ibrahim Arabic Keyboard". it will help with sms/txt, email, etc...

[Q] How can I install the Hebrew language on a custom ROM in my (rooted) Galaxy S2?

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Cellcom, and the first thing I did with it was to root it and install CyanogenMod 7.1. For some reason, CyanogenMod doesn't like Cellcom simcards, and it had a lot of problems (apparently this is a known problem within the community). After that I tried a lot of different ROMs, and I ended up staying with VillainRom 3.0.
The thing is that I NEED to be able to write in Hebrew, and the ROM doesn't come with Hebrew language installed. I usually never start threads but I already tried a couple of solutions I saw in several forums and none of them helped (one even ****ed up my ROM and made me had to install it again). I don't need to have everything in Hebrew, I just need to be able to write emails and SMS in Hebrew. Can anybody help me? Is it possible to install different languages on the side?
Thanks!
EDIT: I just realized that you can download Anysoft Keyboard with the Hebrew expansion pack from the Market. Don't mind me, I suck ***** etc.

Thanks, but I'm not too keen on MIUI. Ran it on my HTC desire for a while. Whilst it has a lot of awesome, and I mean awesome features - I don't really want my phone to be an iphone and the lack of an app drawer kinda annoyed me.
Thanks anyway.
Hi,
I tried this ROM before and I'd say it's great furthermore with Chinese language support - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1717883
It's also built from a stock ROM.
thanks, I'm going to try it out.

[Q] need tamil fonts display on webpages on galaxy S2 with 2.3.6

Hello everybody,
I bought galaxy s2 before two days..
As I found various bugs, lags and irritating inbuilt ICS, I downgraded my galaxy s2 from ICS to gingerbread 2.3.6.
Now everything is perfect and stable.
But while browsing Tamil sites, there are irregular display of tamil fonts.
Earlier I used galaxy S advance which is gingerbread 2.3.6, having no issues all Indian regional languages support font display...
I think the problem for this is gingerbread 2.3.6 updated for galaxy S2 was on Dec 2012.
Gingerbread 2.3.6 for Galaxy S advance is the latest update (Probably on may 2012).
This is the reason for imperfect rendering of tamil and other indian regional laguages support on web browser.
1 .Now What Can I do to display indian regional languages (Especially tamil fonts) support for web browser on Gingerbread 2.3.6 galaxy S2?
2 .Do anyone have the system fonts folder of galaxy S advance in order to put them in galaxy S2 system fonts folder (after rooting)?
Or Can anyone give system fonts for galaxy S2 ICS?
Will this method work perfectly by replacing system fonts?
Have anybody tried this?
3 .Or what should I do for perfect display of tamil fonts in web browser in GB 2.3.6 Galaxy S2.
Because I dont like Inbuilt ICS anymore.
Please help me.
Thanks in advance.
(I also tried the last updated firmware UK Orange 2.3.6 for galaxy S2 which was April 2012. There are no issues on display tamil fonts, all are perfect. But It seems completely designed for the Orange mobile for UK)

Yes, I know S2 ics supports native regional langauges...
But I dont like ics...because many apps do not work on ics and laggy too..
So I want to stay with gingerbread with native language support.
(In galaxy s advance with 2.3.6, all indian languages are well rendering in browser and other apps.)
I am asking why the same can not be acheived in s2 with 2.3.6?
I want to know which parts of a rom involve for this fonts display?
BecauseI just collected system/fonts file from ics rom and put into gb system/fonts and rebooted.
No improvement.
I want to know what should be done for this?
