[Q] [SK17i] Unlock Xperia Mini Pro - Problem with Flashtool - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hello,
i've tried to unlock my xperia mini pro with Flashtool and the Howto
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10879528&postcount=3
but the flashtool dont identified my phone.
Other is i dont have a physical "Back" Button for pressing when plug in the USB. The Touch Back Button doesnt work.
What is wrong with my phone/flashtool/me any help?
Regards Stefan

You need to press volume down when you plug the usb cabel. Make sure the green LED is on.

you need not flash the firmware for unlocking it. I successfully unlocked and rooted my mini pro having 4.0.A.2.335 using the same procedures posted by doomlord in the developer forum.
(In the forum, it says 4.0.A.2.368 is necessary)

Thanks all,
the upgrade was succesful
Regards Stefan

Yes, I did it on my. 335 FW

root
i have 4.1.B.431 version. and it says i have to have older rooted firmware to root it. i haven't rooted before. how can i root it. also where can i download flashtool for xperia mini pro sk17i

Where everyone else gets it, from here: http://androxyde.github.com/

Isn't there a separate button for rooting in flash tool. Then why doesn't it work. It shows this and that error(not saying as I did it long back. Now I don't root it it like that I just install pre rooted roms)

ADB drivers for sony ericsson: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/wportal/devworld/search-downloads/driver?cc=gb&lc=en
i installed the drivers with right click on .inf files and choose "install" (on windows xp) then connected my phone with usb and adb driver installation started by windows as usually with drivers. (then started the runme.bat)
EDIT2: CONFIRMED WORKING on Xperia Mini Pro (Sk17) 2.3.4 FW 4.0.2.A.0.58
Thanks to Revolutionary Team and DooMLoRD for the amazing work! root'n'roll!
Does this method corrupt the DRM TrackID feature?
Nope it does not......
It doesnt mess with the bootloader in any way......
It worked a charm. Thanks.

Flash back to 2.1 generic firmware using flashtool.
You'll need to find the 2.1 firmware on Google(its an xda thread). Then via flash tool flash that firmware. Now everything should work.
I hope you know how to put your phone in flash mode

Try rooting with flashtool. If you don't know how to do that, please check out the pinned rooting guide
Make sure that you turned on following things:
Developer options--->usb debugging
Security--->unknown sources
Xperia--->connectivity--->mass storage mode

+1 and use flashtool.
I hope you installed the proper adb drivers... For XMP...
I don't know if flashtool require drivers or not...
(I use a different toolkit for rooting and flashing)
But for detection of device, driver should be installed

No its not bricked. It happened to my phone too. I'm assuming that you're trying to root the ics stock rom using Doomlord's method. So flash the stock kernel for sk17 again.
1. turn on USB debugging.
2. turn on unknown sources.
3. change connectivity mode to mass storage.
flash the MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf kernel again. turn off the phone, and reconnect in flashmode and then run runme.bat from Doomloards rooting kit. It worked for me before. Several times
Please post all questions here in the Q&A sub-forum where they belong.
