[Q] connect Evo to Touchpad via Bluetooth - TouchPad General

hello all,
I have just updated my TP to 3.0.4 and was eager to see that we can now connect none palm phones to the TP and send/receive phone calls and sms via the TP. THe good news is that now my TP does recognize my Evo (running Decks ROM / CM7 based) but I can not use it for anything, not even to transfer files (pictures, documents, etc...) does anyone know how to correct this? Or is this feature still not supported for the Evo? TIA.

Having same problem with EVO and TP paring.
I have also been able to pare my HTC EVO with the TP as a phone but cannot make or receive calls, send or receive sms messages. Every time I try the TP has a pop up that states Must be connected to phone, I click on this and verify that the EVO is connected but still cannot do anything?

If your touchpad is connected to your phone via bluetooth, and you have that blue check on your touchpad saying your connected, then you're good to go.
However, I believe your only limited to receiving phone calls on your touchpad, nothing else. No making phone calls, no sending/receiving files.
Give it a shot: connect it via bluetooth, make sure its connected, and call your cell phone from a house phone or something. Your hp touchpad should light up prompting you to receive the call.

The bluetooth profile required for all of this to work properly is implemented on very few handsets. It doesn't work properly for most people.
A number of recent HTC handsets supposedly support it, but it sounds like the Evo doesn't.

you sir, are correct. I am only able to receive phone calls. Anyone referencing this thread should know that (at least with the evo) you can not make phone calls, send/receive sms or mms, or transfer files via Bluetooth. You can only receive calls. Maybe someone in the dev community will create a fix or patch for this in time. In any event, its an improvement.

I was able to pair my HTC Sensation to my touchpad and was able to make/receive calls and send/receive text messages

Mods for EVO?
Are there mods that can be made to a rooted EVO that would allow to both send and receive calls and sms? If so what and where would they be found?

[Q] turn tablet into a phone

Just a quick question..
Is there any way to tether all of an android phone's capabilities to a tablet?
For reference, i'm not talking about wifi, i'm talking about turning a tablet into a phone using a phone. if that makes sense.
what I'd like to do is make/recieve calls/texts on my tablet using my phone. Not using some macguyver method of using google voice or any other service, but legitimately connecting the phone to the tablet to use it's phone number and everything.
any thoughts?
There are plenty of apps to sync your sms between phone and tablet.
I use Tablet Talk, I can send/received what ever sms is on my phone
once paired either by BT or WiFi.
As for phone call, I have not seen anything to let you make/received calls
using your phone's number.
Anything would need to be 3G WiFi base since your tablet don't have phone hardware (at least not on mine)
Phone calls with tablet
The only way i know to do that is buying a gmate, unfortunately. But i'm searching hard in the internet to discover something to do that with software only. I have a EVO 3D with sprint network(CDMA) in Portugal(GSM), so i cant do phone calls or anything, and i want to make a connection with my cell phone to the EVO 3D to MAKE CALLS, not sending SMS's.
If anybody knows anything it will be very usefull for many people that are searching also for something like that.
Making calls
Hey people.
I think this might be possible by using either a GSM Modem (the one included in the tablet might be capable) and a specialized software.
For example. Here in Colombia we have TIGO, they sell you a USB GSM Modem, bundled with their own application. If you start the application (MAC or Windows) then you can connect to the internet and make phone calls using your TIGO mobile telephone line.
I know it is possible, but still has not been developed, perhaps some patents involved?.

Titan - Read TXT messages via Bluetooth not working

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but I couldn't find anything.
When I receive TXT messages while connected via bluetooth, my Samsung Focus would give me the option to read the message. For some reason my Titan doesn't do this on the same BT devices I was using with the Focus.
I can compose TXT messages and do other voice functions via BT, but I never get that new message notification and it never gives me the option to read the messages. Is there a setting or something that I am missing?
Thanks
Yes. Setting->Speech. At the bottom of that page is how you would like incoming text message be read.
Thanks. It was set to Bluetooth only already. I'll try Bluetooth and headsets and see if that fixes it.

What I found interesting of this feature is that while connected to my home phone's built-in cell phone BT gateway (which supports headset profile only), it will announce it via phone's speaker once. Then it rings my home phone until I pick it up, then announce the same thing through my home phone (via BT).
Unfortunatly that still doesn't work. Very odd
One Crucial thing that I have noticed with the reading text messages out feature, is that it Won't read anything unless you have the ringer set to sound. And I mean actually Sound not vibrate. It makes Sense, as if you don't Want your ringer to Sound, Why would you want the phone to yell out your text message?Try that and see if that Works.
Ah good call. I'm rarely more than a few feet from my phone, so lately I almost always leave it in vibrate only.
Thanks, now I can txt in the car again

[Q] app to confirm or decline calls on your phone from your tablet over wifi?

Hello, hoping there is something like this out there. My setup is, I have my tablet in my car for media/GPS. My phone is tethered over WiFi to tablet to share internet. I would like to have it that when I receive a call on my phone a notification on my tablet comes up with an answer or decline button and maybe who is calling. It needs to be handled over the WiFi connection as the phones Bluetooth is already being used for hands free..
Has anyone seen something like this?
Thanks
[EDIT] Have found an app that does everything I want and more, 'Tablet Talk'. Covers call control and sms cotrol plus uses contact list, and does this all over wifi.

AT&T sending these texts when not on BT

Whenever I disconnect my Gear S from my Note 4 via Bluetooth I receive 10 of these text messages from AT&T. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this also. It seems I can't forward the calls from my phone while BT is disconnected, however data on the watch works.
Seems like it might have something to do with the way the watch was added to my account, but I'm not sure.
Any ideas?

[Q] Is there a way to connect a phone to my tablet and make calls with it?

I need to tether my phone to my tablet. i would like to make, and receive phone calls and texts using my phone through the Z3 Compact Tablet. Since the Z3 is waterproof, it makes it better to lug around during the rain and my pohone is in my bag snug and dry. Is it possible? What app should I use?
Thank you so much.
I am confused. First of all, the SGP621 is a phone and can make and receive cellular phone calls and texts the same way any smartphone makes and receives cellular phone calls and texts. If you purchased the 611, you might be interested in the 621 instead (and then you can get rid of your other phone if you are comfortable using the Z3TC instead).
Second, this is technicality, but you say you want to tether a phone to your Z3TC, but it sounds like you want to tether your Z3TC to a phone.
Third, your Z3TC should be able to use the phone's internet connection, and you could make calls using VOIP. Vonage is a popular app but Play store reviews will be your friend. Call quality likely will not be as good as cellular. Youmight be able to receive texts via Whatsapp, or somethin.
"Xperia link" or "tablet talk" but that's from phone to tablet. Not sure if the other way will work
Sent from my D5503 using Tapatalk
I had the same problem as you. what you can do is 1- use a google voice to make and receive calls and to do this you must have internet on the tablet as you can tether it to the phone or get a data plan for your table assuming you have the SGP621 LTE version. 2- get a whatsapp working on your tablet and make call with whatsapp for free now. with option 1 ( google voice ) you can set your regular phone number to the google voice number with call forwarding that's how I do it and when I call my regular number the phone does not ring but my tablet
Never saw people using this kind of setting......probably you just need to buy a bluetooth headset or Smartband Talk should meet your needs....
