Problems with accelerometer (won't work). - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Bought this phone like a month ago and by the time I got home with it, I've already had everything I needed to install a new rom, so I installed and since day one I can't get this phone to work with auto-rotate or any other app that uses the accelerometer
I can't remember if it worked with the stock rom, but i'm sure that it didn't work with any of the roms that I used after. From lightning rom, than Sensation 1.6 and finally with Exynos (that I still uses).
I tried calibrating, tried new roms and kernels, never tried factory reset tho. Anyone knows what I can do to get this damn thing to work?
One interesting thing is that the Motion feature works, but that's it.

The motion features use the gyros only afaik. You can test them with Gyro 2D visualizer for example.
On your problem: flash a stock rom and kernel, then test the accelerometers.
If they don't work, send your phone in.

[Q] Camera and auto rotate not working

First post.
My wifes Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE from Rogers (i727R) which came with 2.3.5 got some water spilled on it. After letting it dry out the phone works fine but the camera just gives a "camera failed" error and the screen auto rotate doenst work at all in any app.
I got the camera working for a bit after doing a factory reset but but it stopped again a few days later. This made me think it was a software issue so I rooted the phone and tried flashing the stock rom back on using Odin which did not help either issue. To rule out that it is corrupted software, is there anything else I should try? New kernel?
When I enter *#0*# and go into the sensor test area, the accelerometer and magnetic sensors do not seem to be working. Gyroscope is working.
If more info is needed, let me know.
Thanks
Use this app to test if they are working: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.bartat.android.elixir&hl=en.
Thanks for the help. I installed elixer and looks like the accelerometer, gravity, linear acceleration, magnetic field, orientation and rotation vector sensors are not working.

So that means it's a hardware problem. You'll have to carry it back under warranty (hopefully you have one).
That brings me to my next question.
I rooted and flashed the stock rom on with Odin, hoping that would fix it since the issue was initially fixed with a factory reset. Thought maybe a driver or something got corrupted.
From browsing the forums, it appears there is no way to reset the flash counter yet. Is that correct? If so, would it be worth waiting a while in hopes a fix comes out to reset the counter?

Only a few devices are able to reset the flash counter (so far). You could try flashing a custom rom and see what happens.
NB.: Even if you could reset the counter, that wouldn't really benefit you in this case.

Fingerprint Scanner is not working.

I don't know when it stopped working, because i don't use it every day, but the other day, i tried to show some friends how cool the FPScanner was, but it was not working, after that i got concerned, and tried with another rom, kernel, everything, but it won't work again no matter what, not even FP Navigation. It just doesn't work. Anyone know how to fix this?
Come on, no one?
Which rom do u use

[Q] Camera flash dead?

Hi all,
I'm really hoping someone will be able to help me. My Nexus 10 has been working fine up til now. I just tried to take some photos, the first two were fine, the flash worked and they came out ok.. then I tried to take another but the flash didn't work. I figured it might just be a bug so I restarted the nexus, it still wouldn't work. then after a few mins the flash just came on and stayed on. so I went back to the camera app, the flash turned off and the app told me "cannot connect to camera". Another reboot and the camera is fine again but still no flash. Any suggestions? or is it RMA time... which I'm reluctant to do as other than this the tablet is perfect.
Thanks
The flash by-default is automatic, depending on lighting. May want to try going to the camera app, and making sure flash is actually on, and not automatic, and then giving it a shot.
Tried setting the flash from auto, no luck. Was in a fairly dark room anyway so auto should have caused the flash to go anyway. Thanks for the suggestion though
EDIT
------------
UPDATE - I tried flashing the factory image to check if it was some kind of corruption or software bug. Didn't work, still no flash. So I started reinstalling all my apps and setting everything back up and, while installing some humble bundle games, I accidentally started the camera app... and guess what, the flash came on and then went off again after it had focused. Took a few photos and the flash was working. Tried again 2 mins later (without changing anything on the device) and the flash has stopped working again...>.<

Accelerometer/Gyroscope/Compass Works When it Wants To

I have been having issues with my phone's accelerometer for a while now. Sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't with no real apparent reason. I have tried reflashing my old rom (CleanRom 3.5) which had no affect, and I have now installed Jelly'Beans' version 21. Both times the screen rotation worked for all of ten minutes before failing again for several hours before randomly working again. Is this some kind of known bug with the 4.1.2 base for the i605 or does my phone really just have faulty hardware in it? I am using an app called rotate to manually change orientation, however without an accelerometer I can't use any apps which require one for control (ie. racing games etc.). Z device test shows that the accelerometer is working but graphs no data when I actually run the test (at least when it decides not to work). I am more than willing to back track to 4.1 if necessary or even an unofficial 4.2 or 4.3 build (although I will miss s-pen ), but I don't want to wipe my phone again unless it has a pretty good chance of fixing the problem, and I would much rather not pay the $100 deductible to get a new one if possible. Thanks to anyone who can help me figure this out!

Samsung Galaxy S3: Lags, Endless Wake-Up Waiting and Random Absence of Connection.

Dear All,
The case of my phone is quite peculiar because there are several very serious problems, that combine together and make it impossible to use.
> The main problem is the lag. Still after i flashed the CM 13 and i am using the last Boeffla Kernel it lags so bad that i can't use it properly. Sometime to launch an app takes 5/6 seconds. This isn't changed even with different configuration for the Kernel.
The problem connected with the lag is that it takes ages to launch the apps, specially the gapps. It takes ages to launch chrome or maps or gmail. usually after are being launched they work, but apps like chrome are difficult to use on multiple tabs for instance. In general the multitasking is very slow.
>Another problem is that after the screen is locked it it takes at least 3 seconds to to being reactivated, same timing with every phisical button that wake the device up.
>The last problem is that the connection, either 3g or any other, sometimes is present sometimes is not, but it doesn't depend on the area, for instance sometimes works in my room sometimes not.
Is there someone who can help me to find a solution for these problems?
@Volkert Gage:
If everything run fine before CM13, do a clean flash without GCrap and custom kernel - perhaps you fished the wrong GApps.
If there were problems before, go back to firmware to repair.

thank you for your adivice rp158,
The fact is that these kind of problems (except for the connection) are not new for the phone, i always had it, even with the original firmware.
Before the upgrade to CM 13 i tryed to sort it with the original firmware but nothing worked.
Anyway, can i ask you what gapps pack do you reckon might work better on the phone?
@Volkert Gage: I recommend strongly to flash latest firmware +factory reset. You can't expect any stable LP or MM, if Sammy JB struggles.
@rp158 i'll try to do so then, thank you.
