Hi all, just needed to know
1: if apps in ext4 partition of sd card has the full data of the application?
That is, apps stay after flashing a new rom?
Another question, if I flash to stock rom which does not support ext4 app2sd will the whole sd card be unreadable? For example if I flash stock froyo from coderom?
Third question which is simple, wondering if I can flash a stock rom with Odin if I had replaced the stock recovery with cwm?

1. only if have enabled data2sd. But they will not availaible after flashing.
2. No. it'll be readable. Only the ext4 part will not detected by pc.
3. Yes
Hit thanks if I helped!!!
I think for q no 2 is, the ext4 partition wouldnt be detected even on the phone itself if u flashed to rom that doesnt support ext4. Its common sense really

1) Depends on the a2sd script used...
2)fat32 partition cn b read. ext4 cnt b...
3) yes
Do know it's common sense but for my mini pro even formatting to ext2 gives a "sd card cannot be read" and prompts to format. So i'll have to make sure just in case, have to revert to froyo to try to use my warranty for my defective phone earpiece.

And thanks guys ^^ fast replies.

I'm not familiar with that ROM, but I just glanced at the discussion thread, and there are instructions/advice for using apps2sd. Have you read that?

I had the same problem.I did this and it worked. It's simple just create the partition again
First backup all the data of SD card
then install Amnora recovery as mentioned in GTR rom by neko95.
Reboot into recovery
Then in partition set value 0 in both partition n swap, you'll have a blank SD with it's full capacity
Then again partition as your wish.
Then copy all the backed up data.
Then open S2e
it'll be able to detect the created partition
Hope i helped!!
yes, use amonra...clockwork's default to ext3/ext4....forget which one or maybe both....if you want specifically ext3 for whatever reason that might be, use amonra than partitition than upgrade from ext2 to ext3 in the partition portion of amonra recovery
ok, i think to have undestanded.
When i have an hour free i try to do this, with amonRa.
Thank you a lot

How did you partition your SD card? What program did you use, what type of partition is it, and how is it formatted?

I believe CWM defaults to ext4. If you didn't make any other partitions, then your SD card partition structure should be as follows now:
/mnt/sdcard, FAT, primary
/sdext, ext4, primary
Try using link2sd's menu to recreate mount scripts, & choose ext4. Also, make sure you're still rooted properly, and still have expected su access.

I recollect facing the same problem.I guess the problem isn't with link2sd its got to to do with the fact that the stock kernel doesn't support ext partition try flashing a custom kernel that supports ext partition.

Ah, good catch! I didn't notice that.
If you don't want to flash a new ROM, you can format the 2nd partition as FAT, and link2sd has the option to mount that the same way as others.

I don't understand. Do you want to keep stock, or flash a custom ROM? If all you want is to use link2sd, you shouldn't need to flash anything.

Backup your sd card on PC.
Do factory reset
Re partition ur sd card in cwm
Start phone & install link2sd before any other application
Use ext4
If ur kernel doesnt support ext 4
Partition ur card on PC using some partitioning software. use ext2 in this case. And try link2 sd now
Pls let me know if this helps

I want the solution for flashing new nightlie each time...
Reinstall link2sd -> menu -> More -> Recreate mount scripts

Hey folks!
I've had JellyBAM v6.5 running on my S3 i9300 and wanted to flash to 6.6, but after a one time used DarkyRom (****) i had a folder called Darky that i couldn't delete. So i thought i delete everything, data, cache, and format it.
But right after i pressed format i realised that it was not that smart of me and now i got an phone i can not boot because there is nothing on it.. :/
If i go to mounts and storage I see:
unmount /efs
unmount /cache
unmount /system
unmount /data
unmount /preload
mount /sdcard
unmount /external_sd
So everything is mounted exept the SD Card.. :/
If I go to the "Install .Zip from SD Card" i can go on the internal storage and see only the folder Clockworkmods\ so i can acces it.
But if I try to install JellyBAM.zip i get this message:
--Installing: /external_sd/rom.zip
Finding update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Than i get a other option menu on the top and it says:
Install Untrusted Package?
THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE.
-No
-Yes - Install untrusted zip
-++++Go Back++++
And if i click Yes- Install untrusted zip, then I get:
Installing Update...
Installation aborted.
What can i do now?
Thanks!
ODIN... Flash a stock rom and then re-root...
You've cleaned out everything on your internal storage anyway, there should be no pics or anything there if you formatted it. What have you got to loose?

Put rom on external sd card .
Flash CWM recovery and install rom from recovery may work .
Otherwise build the rom you want into the correct format for Odin flash .
