[Q] sbf_flash on 64-bit Linux - Motorola Photon 4G

When trying to use the sbf_slash utility, I get a
Code:
"Value too large for defined data type
!! failed"
It works fine on files under 2GB however it cant work on any of the sbf files. I read somewhere that it is a compilation error or something to that degree. Is there anyone who has successfully done this?

I get the same thing in the same setup. I had to boot over to windows to get it to work.

this is a simple path fix:
add the following line at the end of .bash_profile
PATH=/cygdrive/c/Program\ Files/Java/jdk1.6.0_45/bin:/cygdrive/c/cygwin/bin
save,exit,restart
*note, if you have more to add to PATH, do it now, but this will get kitchen to fire up. This also assume you installed to C drive.
Also, I have better luck using jdk 6 than 7.

[Q] Very specific Webtop2sd Question - LXterminal Crashes

I recently bought a lapdock, and I've been fighting and moving through to try and get the mod to work, but now I've hit a dead end that I can't beat.
I'm on the latest "lite" version of the WetDream ROM and I'm using the webtop that was preinstalled with it. I've got a 2gb partition set up on webtop2sd. My problem is that I can't get LXterminal to launch. Webtop configurator successfully installed Synaptic; firefox and AWN manager work fine as well, but I am at a dead end without a terminal. I tried installing others from synaptic, but even the simplest one (xvt) had a single, unfulfilled dependency. I've tried everything that I know how to try, including multiple installs of the ROM and of Webtop2sd.
Can anyone lend a hand?
EDIT: I also tried flashing the webtop-mod from this thread: [WEBTOP] 2.3.4 webtop fixed image [CWM Install] V1 . It gives me the same problem with lxterminal.
(Note, I would have posted here but I don't have enough posts.)
Thanks.
Please excuse the double post; I'm not intentionally bumping my thread.
I have found a "solution." I'm in the process of repairing my webtop now. My situation seems to be very unique, but I'd like to document it in case anyone comes along and has it again.
The trick I used was completely external to my Atrix, though. Without a terminal, I couldn't access tar or bash, but I could run single commands by making a custom entry on the modified AWN. So, here we go.
For anyone who has tried repeatedly to use Webtop2sd but has always lacked terminal access, here's my method.
Requirements: Access to a linux system, rudimentary knowledge of the terminal, or any other method of mounting your webtop2sd partition on a system with access to tar and permission changing methods.
****WORKING Awn Manager in webtop
Download the Dependency fixing scripts.
Mount your Webtop2sd partition and manually extract the scripts to their location in /usr/share/WebTopScripts/
Boot your device to webtop and setup a custom entry in Awn Manager with the following command:
"sudo bash /usr/Share/WebTopScripts/fix-apt-get.sh" (This should work with most versions of the script; also, no quotes in the actual command.)
That was enough to get Lxterminal working and gives me access to all the other mod methods on the forum that assume you have access to a working terminal. It's not really very helpful for Windows or Mac users, but it's the only thing that I could manage.
Feel free to close the thread, mods.
You gotta make sure to install LXTerminal from the Webtop Configuration applet where you installed Synaptic.
Sometimes it refuses to install at first so you have to try several times until it budges.
Try closing and opening the configuration window until you see both synaptic and LXTerminal buttons greyed out.
Sent from my Atrix 4G using Tapatalk
I'm almost certain that it was installed before (it was marked as present in synaptic), but just refusing to launch.
However, I broke my webtop just before getting it how I wanted it, so when I have time to give it another try, I'll see if being a little more persistent with it this time will work.
EDIT: Wow, the next 2 times that I had to install webtop, lxterminal worked just fine. Now I just have to get the scripts to actually fix all the dependencies and not end up with a broken webtop after installing software.

URGENT: Webtop thinks there is no free space left in /

So I have the webtop mod running on my sdcard, and I just tried to do a ubuntu dist-upgrade to natty. When I do so, it begins the process and then informs me that I need 10MB more free space on "/". This issue also happens when installing certain packages. The problem here (I think) is that Ubuntu considers the phone's / directory as its root, hence the symlinks created from the folders in /osh to the / directory. Usually, this works fine. But sometimes, a package checks to see if the / directory is free, and it reports back 0B to the system, canceling the install. Since this problem is obviously with ubuntu checking the wrong folder, how do I fix this? Is there any way to constrain Ubuntu to considering the /osh directory as its root? Please, help, I'm stuck in between an upgrade now and this is my main computer.

Webtop doesn't upgrade, or at least none of the devs working on it have been successful. Even attempts at jaunty to maverick have failed. Main reason is there are a number of packages that have been customized by Motorola that if you get the upgrade to run, it breaks webtop.

Not even if I were to obtain a preinstalled OMAP4 ARM img of 12.04, manually copy over webtop-specific files and links into it, and restore that to the /osh?

To start, OMAP4 isn't nvidia, it's Texas Instruments. The main problem is that much of what we think of as webtop is based on old code that Moto has made specific proprietary builds from. Neither Moto or nvidia is obligated to release proprietary source so you are stuck having to reverse engineer their work as there's not an upgrade path to work with.
You can try it but don't be surprised if things break or webtop won't boot. Also keep in mind that if you do changes on device and it works it doesn't mean that a flashable version will work.

[Q] Toshiba AC100 - repartition script failed

I was given an AC100 by a friend who didn't want it running on Android at all, with the task of wiping it and installing ubuntu. Figuring I didn't need the Android partitions I followed to the letter this guide to get back the internal memory occupied by the unneeded partitions. I did make a full backup before this, according to these instructions; this includes the partition table (converted to cfg) and bct file.
Here is my repartition script, edited with the appropriate .cfg file name (the cfg is the same you find on the repartition guide, only there it's called part.cfg) and location of the nvflash and bin files: http://pastebin.com/DLB8h6tC
And here is the console output: http://pastebin.com/5QyRfrjy
At this point it dumps me back to the console. I tried uploading fastboot again manually to regain control of the AC100 and either resume the process or restore the full backup and start from scratch, but this happens: http://pastebin.com/SjbffjCc
I can't figure out what caused the script to fail; from what I can see all the files are where they should be. What do I do now? How do I regain control of it so I can at least do a full backup?
Edit: SOLVED IT. Nvflash fails if /usr/lib/nvflash/fastboot.bin is not copied to the work folder before running it. Not sure why this is, but thanks to the #ac100 IRC channel for pointing this out to me. Manually running the steps in the script from the one that failed onward repartitioned correctly, and now the bootloader runs.
Ye olde bumpe. The poor thing is looking at me and I think I can hear it screaming for help.
Another bump. I still haven't figured out how to fix it.

Question Need help with FileZilla Server on Magisk, to transfer with fdisk data to recover deleted file.

Hi, few day ago I made a videos with a modded version of Google Camera 8.1,
the first one was not saved properly and was in .pending????????.mp4 state, and I erased it by mistake,
because it was first time, I was using this tool, and I didn't knew that it is a temporary file.
I tried to recover, using many tools, but I was unable to recover it, so I decided to Root my phone using Magisk,
I made some mistake and testing some FastBoot command I relocked my Unlocked phone.
I had to Unlock again by using "miflash_unlock.exe", with advertising that all my data’s will be deleted.
After I managed to patch my phone, he restarted (I don’t installed any previous apps prom store, to avoid my video to wiped by new data,
and I tried with Ult Data, Dr Phone to recover the file, but Root access was not accepted.
Then I tested lot of android tool, nothing worked, after searching a lot I found this page :
https://drfone.wondershare.com/android-recovery/phone-memory-data-recovery.html
And I tried but some command didn’t work, since I didn't have FDISK, FTPPUT on my phone file system,
after some other search I found this ancient page (2014) who seemed to be the source,
https://sudonull.com/post/108208-Recovering-data-from-internal-memory-on-Android-for-dummies
and after installing BusyBox Pro,
I managed to get missing Linux tools.
I tried the command, all worked fine,
but now I’m unable to access this one :
Code:
ftpput -v -u sally -p able -P 40 192.168.1.4 sde55.raw /cache/myfifo
because my FileZilla does not get any information.
And I receive this message :
Code:
can't connect to remote host (192.168.1.4): Connection timed out
The article is old and that guy was using U.S.B. MoDem on CyanogenMod 11.
I use Magisk pro rooting and I do not know what tool I should use to get U.S.B. link with FileZilla Server to get proper connection.
I tried many things, changing protocols, P.T.P., M.T.P., and I do not know what to do,
so I thought may be here, someone with experience could point me to a tool to use in Android 12 / 11 with my Magisk and link to FileZilla Server,
to get image of internal memory back‑up‑ed ?
Thank you in advance.
No one knows how to ?
Someone knows an other methodic to extract partition totally & perfectly ?
