[Q] [ROM] Iridium IR-77 Question - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi. I`ve just started using this rom(the a2sd version) and i checked in terminal if a2sd is running with the a2sd check and it told me that the ext partition has been found but it`s not mounted, also stating that i may be using a ext4 partition(made with cwm) not supported by the rom. Have i done something wrong? Is there anyway i can fix this without going back to ext 2/3? Any help is appreciated.

Just use move2sd enabler ...no partition required too.simple n kewl ..check through iridium thread I have given links n steps in one of the posts recently..

[Q] n00b question about A2SD, CM7 beta3, and widgets

hi
i recently flashed the CyanogenMod 7 beta3 found here
I have an issue with my apps, prob. due to the a2sd stuff. i can't see most of my app's widgets, including the messaging widget. maximum annoyance!! when i put other apps such as facebook in the phone memory, the widget appears in the selection screen, but the messaging app was and is in the phone memory all the time..
HELP WILL BE EXTREMELY APPRETIATED
also, i'm planning to make a vid about flashing the cyanogenmod rom to a phone. who's with me!
i'm having problems with darktremor's a2sd too, it seems to be that it's unable to mount/recognize /sd-ext... i've just backed up with TB, re-partitioned and wiped everything, let's see if a fresh flash enables CM 7 b3/a2sd to recognize /sd-ext -.-"
it keeps gettin stuck at the cyanogenmod animation... it's getting me mad!
there was no way for me to get dt's a2sd working on cm7b3... -.-"

Look at the CM7 thread, in the first post is the solution to your problem, you just need to flash a .zip before flashing CM7..

I think it is native to the system, at least you are able to move apps..
Correct me if i'm wrong
Am I the only one that the choise of the keybord is not stored between reboots?? can someone test please?
(using smartkeyboard pro)
Moved the app to phone memory and worked fine, my bad!
Well, these actions may help you guys "am not sure":
-When installing a widget in CM7, never move it to SD card, it will be only recognized when it's located at phone memory.
-When installing CM7 itself, don't partition your SDcard, just format it using PC or any utility and install CM7 using recovery "so it won't stuck".
-if the stuck thing still happening, download from CM7 topic a Wiper file which will wipe your system setting if wiping is not working on your O1.

I did the partition but flashed the Wiper file, worket fine!
Is thera any way to flash CM7beta4(when it's released) and keep all the apps and configs?
EDIT: Sorry, wrong thread.
When i connect the phone to USB, the widget crash, and also the apps i have to move it to SD because they installing in the phone memory. Dont recognize the Partition.
Sorry for my English.
question
my messaging app (stock) is in my memory, and i can access it, but i cannot access the messaging widget. CAN ANYONE HELP?
I'm not that noob, I can follow instructions, I erased /system using adb, and flashed cm7 many times, partitioning (needs to be done to get darktremor's a2sd working) and flashing a2sd every time, it's just that this time just didn't work... I flashed again doing a "fresh install" and got cm7 to load, but there's no way to get a2sd working... Using "native" cm7's a2sd doesn't just move apps to fat32 partition?

If you already have cm7 on the device, flashing the rom's zip file from recovery should be enough ;-)

[Q] Moving apps to Sd - OPENOPTIMUS ROM

Hi, I´ve just finished flashing OPENOPTIMUS Rom on my LG Optimus 1. I follow to the letter every instruction even the SD partitioning to be able to use a2s but moving apps to SD would not work.
Not with app manager, not with Ti backup, not with AntTek Explorer.
Any suggestions how to overcome this issue?
Help please!
Regards.
Are you using darktremor or ungaze? If your using DT (and I recommend this). Just reparation a 512mb than 0mb swap, let CWM do its thing than reboot and try looking in the first menu or titanium backup and you will see a2sd under sdcard, congratulations you have 2 parts on sdcard than download a2sdgui from market and configure to your liking Ohh and make sure you backup the contents of your sdcard as partitioning will wipe everything

After working fine for a day, suddenly a2sd crashed... But according to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715940, beta versions are giving some troubles, so I´m going to try out the last official release 2.7.5.2-1. (You´ll find the link to download it in the same post).
Good luck to us both!!

I have a feeling you shouldn't reboot so much
Ace-ing all tests.
I was facing similar problem...then I changed my SD card...
By the way which class of SD are you using...??
Are you using ext4 partition? If so I had the same issue and user Iandol helped me out with this post. If you use ext4 you have to do this on every CM7 rom. Hope it helps
iandol said:
@itasoulas: I use adb shell and vim, but I suspect for most users, the best thing is to use ES File Explorer or another rooted explorer, navigate to /system/etc/init.d/ and open 05mountsd in the text editor, then go to line 43:
Code:
$BB mount -o noatime,nodiratime,barrier=1 -t ext3 $SD_EXT_PART $SD_EXT_DIRECTORY;
and change it to ext4:
Code:
$BB mount -o noatime,nodiratime,barrier=1 -t ext4 $SD_EXT_PART $SD_EXT_DIRECTORY;
Reboot, then run the following command in terminal to tell you what your ext partition is mounted as:
Code:
mount | grep mmcblk0p2
There must be a reason CM mount using ext3, but I've always remounted as ext4 (as many others have) without problems... I use s2e which uses /sd-ext/, but link2sd simply remounts /sd-ext/ under another mount point so you end up with 2 mounts of the same partition, a little less elegant but works just fine...

I registrated a weird issue a few days ago. After flashing MIUI GB RC2 everything went normally, 'till one day my Ace wasn't able anymore to detect my SIM-Card. After wiping everything and reflashing it still wasn't able to, so I went back to CM7.2 without MIUI GB RC2 and everything worked fine. Now I've flashed MIUI again and again everything works fine, hopefully for a longer period of time than just a few days.
but still my question: can anyone confirm the same issue?

Well more or less the same problem i had, but i was using S2E (an app that installs the apps on microSD) i then tried it with Link2SD, it ****ed up a few hours after, i am now using darktremmor's dta2sd and see if it ****s up... so far so good.

Darktrmmor will also have the problem, if you move dalvik cache to sd it will create a problem after u install many apps..

So thats the problem?? dalvik cache ****s up? well i copy the apps and dalvik, so i am doomed and Darktremmor will also screw up the install?, umh well i got more or less the same apps i had before, it is yet to screw up, lets hope it doesn't, still thanks for the advice cso26
sorry, stupid question -_-
I've got MIUI GB RC2 by nims for one week too, almost all my apps on SD but widget and system apps and it give me no problems! Are you sure it couldn't be an sd-card problem? Or maybe a problem occurred while you partitioned it?

Miui gingerbread by Chinese is more stable. (Never tested myself) people say
Ony drawback is that toggles in notification is in Chinese and some apps also
there is no flickering in Chinese one according to people.

I keep on thinking that it could be a problem of your SD card... You should try with another one before think about a rom problem.
I've been using MIUI GB for 2 weeks, using Link2SD, 50 apk installed and never faced such a problem!

a2sd scripts help or knowledge

Im making this thread because I havent seen any other threads with the similar topic, maybe some more advanced users can spread there knowledge around about a2sd scripts or the like.....Ill share my experiences
Recently I wanted to give the new rom by neko95 (Razr-UI and GTR 6.0)....With Razr UI, I flashed the rom than went directly into recovery, partitioned the sdcard for 512mb and 32mb swap size, than for safety precautions, I rebooted into recovery and went ahead with flashing darktremor a2sd script, than I rebooted again....It took some time b4 it booted up but once it did, everything started force-closing, the entire UI was force-closing. I than tried once more with a clean wipe on everything, fresh install of the rom, re-partitioned the sdcard and attempted with using Ungaze, this time it never booted to UI, it just continued to bootloop with sound.....
I generally use S2E, as I feel it's moving everything to sdcard and free's up my phone internal space and allows for maximum applications, occasionally I will use ungaze and in which case I use Link2SD.Ive also used A2SDGUI as well when using Darktremors a2sd script...
Could some explain in detail what ext2/3/4 might be, which is better to use...I know by default Cyanogenmod Recovery use's ext3 or ext4 while amonra uses ext2....For these roms that have a2sd scripts already, what is the correct procedure on how to use these scripts ? Maybe an user could give some detailed explanations as to what a2sd scripts are, and how to use them....Which swap size is the best to use, how much would you recommend using if you have a 2/4 or 8gb sized sdcard, which script do you think is better ? Ive never used a rom without wanting to use these a2sd scripts because well the phone's internal storage is so small and after 5 applications installed without scripts it seems to slow the phone down drastically....Let's make this a tutorial from someone who's an expert on a2sd scripts
to add on to what I said, some roms seem to have difficulty with these scripts, maybe it's the user in which case im pretty sure it is, but than again..with OMFGB i was able to use Darktremors with no problems
In such case please help me with link2sd.
I linked all my apps using link2sd but still after sometime my phone memory is full?
But according to link2sd all are in sd.

I wish I could help you but I cant, I dont know enough about a2sd scripts to help anyone....Ive looked everywhere for an answer and cant seem to find it.....I know one of your roms says in changelog that a2sd is included, but im not sure how to use it...S2E is simple, you partition sdcard, flash script (darktremors) than reboot, go back into s2e application select the boxes ( I check em all) than reboot, after the 2nd reboot, everything is moved to sdcard. I dont know much about link2sd, I havent seen a tutorial on that application or anything

i dont use link2sd but i was using in CM9 and something similar apen my memory was full and link2sd said the apps are all in sdext but they werent only some files so i link all again and voila... try it ...
and s2e is the best option for cm9 or cm7 ....
Do you know how s2e and a2sdgui are specifically for darktremors a2sd script? I thought link2sd was just for ungaze...I was wrong...if you find a tutorial on how to use and how to get the most from link2sd, please share

no need of any partion in your sd card
by installation of this app it will automatically form a folder in ur sd and apps will store in that directly

You shouldn't have to just manage A2SD features in the Applications section of the CM-settings. (Settings - CyanogenMod - Applications)
Hello there...That might sound dumb but Im a newbie and you shall forgive me I took up phone hacking just a couple of days ago, trying to make some spare space in my internal memory, and I ended up messing with roms, adbs, codes, a2sd etc etc etc...I was driven mad. The result now, is a htc desire with 4.0.4 Beta 0.18.2 evervol rom, 2.6.38.8-evervolv-turba-ics kernel.
So Im getting to the point now After stabilizing my device, Im trying to figure out how the heck this a2sd works.
-I partitioned (thank god because I got rid of 2Gb garbage in my sd)
-Then I ran the command su a2sd install Y/N/Y
and everything seemed to run smoothly.
So now I cannot understand,
1)whether a2sd just moves (movable apps) from mobile to sd (which makes it useless since there is a built in function for that), or it writes the data of the apps stored in the mobile to sd
2) do I have to repeat the script every time I install a new app?
3) How can I move certain apps to the sd anyway? for example google maps and facebook?
Sorry for the long post. Xda has been really helpfull to me everytime I was VERY close to throwing my phone against a wall
AW: [Q] A2SD help
