My Amaze 4g took a screen shot - HTC Amaze 4G

My Amaze is not rooted and I dont have any screen shot apps either, but somehow my Amaze took a screenshot of itself, I picked it up while driving from my cup holder and fumbled the phone alittle and bumped a button on the side and it took a screen shot of my homescreen and saved it to my pictures.
Does anyone know how this was achieved?
I keep searching my apps for screenshot utilities and i try to replicate what I did but with no luck at all.

Press power button and home button together for screenshot...

You have an Amazing Ghost in your phone, real prankster

After 24+ hours, my thoughts on the E3D

Commenting on just these categories:
Fit and finish. Pretty much solid and well built. Though its measured as roughly the same weight because of its narrower feel, to me its a tad bit heavier just because the device feels smaller in the hands. The word Density comes to mind.
Battery. Overall its much better than my evo 4G. With similar location, usage and brightness I'm getting a full day's of use and then some. I'll still get a backup battery for emergencies but I'm glad its outlasting the OG Evo.
3D. Its nifty, works decently. I wouldn't use it all that much but its nice that its there to use and show.
Screen. I read alot and the AMOLED+ and pentile LCD display types are the screens I prefer not to have. I'm glad HTC went with SLCD. Sure its not eye popping colors but to me the colors look accurate and sharp and not over saturated. Text is crisper and easier on the eyes. If you've tried to read for a long time on a AMOLED screen, eyes get kinda tired. The iphone4's IPS display is to me the best all around. Other than that, visibility inside outside has been great. nothing unexpected and usable in all but the brightest sunlight.
What I would change:
Camera 3D/2D switch is loose. Both camera button and switch is made of metal and is high quality but the rattling takes it down a bit. Once ifixit posts their tear down, I'd like to see if I can put a tiny piece of electrical tape between the outside switch and the inner electrical switch to make it not rattle.
The menu buttons are super sensitive, quick brush and the key gets activated. The power button is also sensitive. I've accidentally powered on or off the device just holding it and especially handing it to people to hold. If there was a way to turn down or detune the sensitivity of atleast the capacitive buttons, I'd pay for that "its a feature, not a bug"
The menu buttons are very bright at night even when the screen is dimmed all the way and never turns off while screen is on.
Don't get me wrong, its a high end phone worthy to represent the best of Android/HTC and I will use and enjoy this phone even more than my mogul, TP, TP2, Pre, and Evo 4G that came before it.
This thread is meant to foster comments on your own experiences. Comment accordingly. Now back to playing with the phone
Get an Otter Box from the Sprint store (or wherever cheaper). It covers the camera button perfectly so it doesn't feel so fragile. The 2d/3d toggle can be hard to switch tho... Amazing case for an amazing phone.

Love that its like a droid incredible it looks so much smexier than the evo 4g its nice and skinny!
love the screen and over sense 3.0 is AMAZING love this phone and I'm actually comfortable keeping it stock and not really clamoring to flash something new, maybe in a month but right now very happy!
3D is cool!! but i feel like my eyes get all googly for over 3D minutes after i use the feature
also! love the battery life!
I agree, been running CM for so long, it will be nice and refreshing to go back to sense for a while.

I pretty much agree. Also:
- The Power/Sleep button is too soft to the press. Sometimes the screen will turn on in my pocket or I'll bring up the power menu by accident with very little effort.
- By default, LED Notifications were all unchecked for me. They should set them on by default (kind of odd that they didn't).
- Make the icons for the included apps high-resolution. ie People and Messaging, when placed on the homescreen, look blurry and low-res.
I love this phone. But, being rooted has spoiled me and I'm dying without it.
Also, HTC Sense launcher doesn't scroll wallpapers: fail

Forgot to add that. 10000000% agree.
Yes, the power button is Waaay to sensitive, even sliding your finger across the top of the phone will activate it. Simply touching the button will turn off the screen, pressing it will power it off. Taking off the cover causes the power button to activate often.
You might have a bad EVO cuz my camera switch button is extremely solid and has no rattle at all

It's funny because my power button is very stiff, and very flush with the case. Pretty much impossible to accidentally turn on.

i agree with this, mine is pretty solid, but i did get a skin for it and makes it a bit challenging to turn it on from the front
My power button is exactly like the evo 4g

My power button is also really sensitive. I did notice a small difference though after removing the back cover, fiddling with the switch a bit, and then putting it back on. It's no longer quite so sensitive.

Yeah I have the same thing going on... I will say though my screen on time is much longer than the Evo. So I will guess that when I am not messing with it all day the battery will be better.

- My power button is fairly stiff too. About perfect IMO.
- Feels more solid than the evo 4g IMO
- Battery life is pretty good, surprisingly. Way better than the reviews made it out to be. And i've been using 4g a lot.
- I've had no problem with call quality or data connection. Just as good as my old evo so far. Not like some of the reviews made it out to be, my calls have been very clear, probably clearer than my old evo too.
- Screen is very nice compared to the original evo
- Bottom buttons are A LOT brighter than the evo, honestly wish theyd be a little dimmer.
- 3d works better than most reviews led me to believe. I had a really hard time focusing on the pre-loaded 3d pictures. But my self-taken pictures, videos, spider man, and the movie all looked good in 3d and i had no problem focusing. The pre-loaded ones were giving me a headache for some reason.

[Q] 3d to 2d button loose

Is the 3d to 2d toggle button a little loose on your phone?
It's not bad, but if you shake the phone you can hear it rattle a little.
yeah its pretty bad here as its lose front to back bad. sliding it top to bottom clicking the switch on and off is solid though. Just the front to back movement is a little rediculous
+1 same here. It's pretty loose ny friends and I all got one and i touched 5 different 3d's all had loose camera button. But idgaf this phone is raw!
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Ok i thought i was the only one with the semi defective switch
Yeah it is BEYOND me why they decided to have loose buttons on there. It doesn't bother me too much, but I am wondering why they didn't tighten it up.
yes, loose on mine also.
power button is pretty stiff on my phone, hard to turn on also
otherwise, great phone
what hardware versions are you guys on? I have the loose play front to back in that switch, and am on v.002 here.
My button its loose also... Glad I got a tpu case on it now though, can't hit it or get it snaged on anything

knowing that you guys got the same problem makes me feel so much better. *Honesty
My ''xDU4L C0R3 SH00T3Rx'' shot you down in 3D!
Same here, a bit of wiggle. I can hear it when I shake my phone but I really don't think it will be a big problem. At least, I don't plan on shaking my phone at frequent intervals
Most of the rattle is due to camera button not the 3d button .
For me, it's actually quite the opposite. My shutter button is solid, and my 2D/3D switch is a bit loose.

EVO 3D screen over-sensitive

Hi,
I've noticed that my newly bought EVO 3D's screen is very sensitive, along with the capacitive buttons: Sometimes I just have to get my finger very close to the screen and it gets activated. This is just annoying because some buttons (home and search) are close to the edge and get activated if i hold my fingers from these edges (taking pictures for instance).
Also, if I put my phone on charge then the screen get too much sensitive and everything I type is done twice.
I tried many custom ROMs but the problem didn't go away.
Is that a known problem and if it is how can I fix it?
I have found the same with the capacitive buttons (kept hitting search holding in landscape) but i believe that is normal for this handset. As for the screen it is very responsive but what your describing seems a little over sensitive. Have you tried using a different kernel? I would try backing everything up doing a factory reset and installing fresh see if that helps? but I will say that the screen on the 3vo is far more responsive than my old HD2 so may take some getting used to.
I've tried karma kernel (GSM) and the typing problem is gone. But the capacitive buttons are still too sensitives. Funny that no one found a fix for it
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515a using XDA
I think its more the actual capactive area that makes a difference some handsets you have to be dead precise whereas on the 3vo you just have to be close. I have gotten used to it now tho. Glad u got the screen working properly now tho!

This issue really needs more attention. I'm guessing seven have been ignoring it because some people thinks its cool that you can activate this screen and buttons without even touching it, but that's not how it should work. It causes problems and drives me crazy.
Same here. I only have to hover my finger to make a selection.
On most other touch screen devices, there is a sensitivity adjustment. My Acer tablet has one. Is there anyway to do that on here? Hidden menus or something? REALLY would like to tone it down a bit,
Try using a screen protector if it really bothers you that much... That is likely the only viable option.
You could try calibrating the screen threw the phone settings option to see if will help with the issue at all
Locked & Loaded
""shooter on Deck""
I have tried a screen protector. It's still too sensitive. I can still activate the screen without even touching it even with a screen protector.
mine does the same.. I was going to post a new topic untill i saw this... There must be some l thing that can be done?? im forever hitting the search and home buttons without actually touching the screen!!!

Yep. The touch is sensitive as all hell. Screen protector really helps with this. And keeps your glass streak/scratch free.

Turning on the screen accidentally?

Since the home button is not recessed but raised, is this a problem? e.g. phone is in the pocket and button gets pressed so it turns on.
Not really never had that problem. The home button is raised but only slightly to give it feel. I think it's well designed . The more I use the phone the more I enjoy the looks of the phone to. It feels great in the hand !

Thanks. Now that it's finally announced for the US, I'm getting excited and counting the days

People...Save Your Thumbs....Get Virtual Button Bar...

Posted in Apps section, but I thought I would throw this on General do get the people that might not go over there.
I've had this phone for about 2 weeks, not counting the one week....never mind.
I literally got a huge cramp...I think it's tendonitis, in my main phone hand, from trying to contort to this phone. I am a fervant one-handed user, and I've finally got my phone to a place where I can do about 90% of what I need to do....One of the main apps I utilized is Virtual Button Bar StoreLInk or another softbutton app.. It's basically a set of soft buttons accessible via a small screen overlay on the edge of your screen.
It changes the way I set up my phone because my hand basically stays in one position. So I keep my home clustered.
It works for great for me...but it's going to take a while to get rid of this tendonitis. I'll report back.
Update: I'm now recommending button savior ...
More control...more options....I actually use both.....I have one set one each side so I can have thimbfriendly control for both hands
Swipepad is better in my opinion and it's free.
Edit: Never mind. This has way more functionality. I still would choose Swipepad though, but hitting back isn't a problem for me because I hold my phone with my right hand.

swipepad is good. Great way to have everything on your homescreen hidden.
I don't see how pressing the home button a few times every once in a while could give you anything as "serious" as tendonitis, seeing as the majority of smartphones had physical buttons until around 2011, and when you compare the big easy-to-press Galaxy Note button to the tiny, hard buttons of the Droid X, I don't see how anyone could be complaining, and you wouldn't catch me dead sacrificing one millimeter of this glorious HD screen for anything that can be accomplished by the fabulous buttons protruding the edge of my display.
