[NOT A ROM][MOD] add Beats to your evo3D - HTC EVO 3D

I just thought that many people wouldn't find the thread because it's in CDMA.
I didn't try it yet, will do when I get home, give us your feedbacks!

i have tried before. its not working. even there's no option shown in the music player.

Seriously? Damn it! I had hope...
But why is that? Are CDMA and GSM versions that different?

is not working for à GSM ! Very bad
cette instale fonctionne uniquement pour les EVO3D US !

Seems to work on Leedroid 3D 2.0 with his kernel.
I can select Beats audio. Haven't tested the audio, at work now, but it looks okay.

which version did u install? i couldnt see any beats option in music player

just click in the top right corner to select audio effect

The original leedroid rom have the beats option but there is no difference with the no effect option.

CDMA and GSM are completely different...

The leedroid ROM comes with beats as standard and the effect is only noticable with head phones, with lower range khz frequencies
Having beats headphones helps too

I got that... But I don't understand why it would be different when it comes to the sound...

I will be surprised if YOU ported the Beats/Dolby MOD to EVO 3D GSM eventually.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288561 beats works on that rom on gsm has done for a while not sure why nobody has used that to integrate into any rom ?

I am using HTCMusic_Beats_WARM mod from CDMA section.
It works fine. Althought I donot know what is the difference in sound.

edit: It is suppose to use srs to enable the beats mode , and it seems to be better and fuller sound then equalier. I am using the synergy mod now instead of warm's mod.
it's nothing to do with gsm or cdma, as sensation is gsm I believe,

i am that guinea pig...coz i reported its not working on post#2
as the OP, you'd better try it out and test it before announce a "news" in here

I don't care what technology used or just a simple EQ, but after nights of testing, using apks from CDMA ROM either end up no difference at all or FC. I tried some GSM ROMs, the phone won't boot thanks to HBOOT 1.49.0012. That's why I am looking for just a single MOD.

I am talking about Beats mod from Sensation not from EVO CDMA and it is just a single mod and not a ROM.

harpss1ngh said:
The CDMA one was derived from the Sensation which was ripped from the Sensation XE which is the only phone it works on right now. The others are just fake and call themselves Beats but really are an infringement of Copyright and the Beats B logo and Trademark....so yeah none of them are Beats.
Just because someone slaps on a logo and a brand name doesn't make something work lol, I guess some of the people here don't have the brain to understand that mate...

OMG, have you actually try the Synergy and Warms' MOD and read their threads before you accusing they and other people to have no brain? Beats is just like SRS, whether or not you can tell them apart, I don't know. What I can assure you is that those mods are not just change of a logo.

Why not try Clean Rom for a clean rom?
I just flash the Android Revolution HD 1.2 ROM last weekend and it works great!! It's just like stock with a few tweaks... like removed some bloat, has the GPU manage display graphics instead of CPU which frees up some CPU power and makes Sense have a lot more fluidity! Plus it gives you the ability to overclock the CPU to 1.5 GHZ and it is completely stable! It has more small tweak so head over to the thread and check it out! i highly recommend this ROM!

Hope this helps!!
I've been bouncing around between MeanROM, ViperRom, and Nocturnal. All are good roms, but Mean is the only one that allows Beats removal, so that is the one I am sticking with for now (Beats causes a loud hiss in my headphones that completely eliminates the reason to have Beats). Also, Mikey (the creator of Mean) is very active with updates.

[Bootanimation][Bootaudio] Beats by Dre

This is a little something I have been using for my bootanimation and boot sound. It's a Beats by Dre I found on the Sensation Threads (by mexxxico)
And I also chopped up an mp3 for the boot sound that I made myself.
These are not flashable zips these need to be pushed to /system/customize/resource either with adb or with Root Explorer (or any other file manager that has root access)
Someone can feel free to make a flashable zip.
Be sure to back up your original bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3 first before replacing them. Just incase you don't like my style.

its not hard to do. i just dont know how similar sense is compared to stock android in the framework layout department.
i will check it out now... do you have a link to the sense 3.5 rom?
EDIT: it requires decompiling the framework-res.apk and replacing 2 xml files and battery icons. (not hard, but when you dont have the phone its complicated lol)

Hey, on the Sony page for the Sola, I seen that is says it has:
clear bass, clear audio and surround sound
So I asked a Sony person about this in chat and the confirmed it. I'm not sure about some of the other phones, I'm sure most of them have that stuff.
But I love the idea of getting more Sony audio tech. on our phones, I agree, it would be cool! I would like to test clear phase...
p.s ... as many users have discussed, if audio tech. on our Androids can be 'ported' then it must be simply audio tweaking rather than hardware prowess

So u mean those checkboxes are to activate the hardware instead of activating some software things?
So there's a hardware for the sound tweaks or maybe a hardware tweak in the speaker?
But that's not so logical if its disablable.

Not exacltly. It was in the General Android Themes and Apps section when I seen a lot of big devs discussing this. You might still find some of those threads. They described it as simply software modification. As you know Android is very flexible and a lot of things can be easily ported. They were discussing how Walkman features and Beats Audio were mis-marketed, pretending to be superior devices, when almost any Android phone could use a ported version.

Im not sure but it will definitely improve the sound. Right? xD

Beats Audio on Sense vs AwesomeBEATS/other DSP enhancers on AOSP roms

Okay. Here's the deal. Haven't found a thread on here exactly like this, either because I'm not phrasing the question properly, the answer is obvious and I'm just stupid, or no one really gives a crap.
I don't really have a fancy setup; you could call me a bit of an ex-audiophile. I love my music to really be vibrant; clear yet powerful. Say what you will about it, I get that from the Beats Audio feature on Sense roms with this phone. It's the primary reason I didn't go with the Galaxy S3 when I had the chance to switch for free; it's just that good to me. Problem is, Sense. I hate Sense with a passion. There's this slightly lag with typing I can't get over, and when I compare it to AOSP 4.2.x ROMs I'm left wondering "why?" about a lot of things that are just better, easier, smoother and cleaner on the stock Android OS that HTC just seemed to screw up, the notification bar/pulldown being the primary one. Seeing HTC stick to this same old story kind of appeal to that just ruined the experience for me, and the launcher is terrible. Yes, I know, Nova Launcher/etc, but it's just not the same. Some of the GAPPS just lose their appeal to.
But, I digress. On to the meat of the issue. I've tried AC!D, I've tried AwesomeBEATS, I've tried the ClearAudio, you name it, I've tried it. There's an Xperiance AOSP ROM out there that's based on CM10, and it seems like everything I'm looking for, except the goddamn audio features don't work. At all. And when I listen to music it skips. So here's my question. Has ANYONE been able to reproduce the exact audio quality and frankly sheer volume and power that this phone is capable of with ANYTHING while using a 4.2.x AOSP based ROM? Hell, I'm even willing to go back to 4.1.x, though I'd rather not. I'm in love with the new stock toggles/icons in the notification bar. So yeah...help please?
tl;dr version: Beats on Sense is awesome, AOSP ROMs lack the music quality I'm looking for. How2fix?
This rom has the best audio that I've heard on AOSP. In the thread are also links for the mods that the dev used in this rom. Good luck with your search!

Yeah, this the ROM I was talking about in the OP, I can never get the audio options to actually work. I'll adjust sliders etc and it doesnt change a thing.
Oh really? Well I have noticed that the slider for ClearAudio+ in the first pic doesn't seem to do much, but when you turn it off, you do hear a difference.

However, when it comes to BeatsDSP, I certainly beg to differ. ClearAudio+ definitely cleans up the extra bass that DSP provides.

Why don't you try one of the stripped Sense ROMs, i'm currently running SuperJelly bareback M3. It's a Sense ROM w/o Sense, has Beats and alot of other features. You can also try Viper which has an option in Aroma to remove Sense during installation. I installed Acid Audio on top of it and can run it with Beats at the same time and it's pretty sweet.

In the first post are the links for the mods. Some mods make rom loop, and I haven't found the patience to test each one separately as yet. But from what I have observed, the ClearAudio+ seems to be the biggest culprit.
One of these good days, I'll get around to it.

[Q] GPE Beats audio on CM10

So evidently I'm out of the loop. I didn't know until a few minutes ago that the Google Play Edition HTC One had intergrated Beats Audio. But when I heard this, I got an idea.
Could we port the Beats drivers to CM10.1/10.2 and all the ROMs based on it (Rootbox, Carbon, ect)? Wouldn't it, in theory, be possible since the GPE One firmware is essentially AOSP and therefore with the same structure and internal-working as AOSP? I understand that people have a love/hate relationship with Beats, but I personally (and I'm sure many others) like the sound of it, and that sound on an AOSP/CM10.2 based ROM would be awesome.
Thanks in advance for your responcess, input, and opinions.
Sent from my Ecliptic DNA
Yeah it could work. Its just a global audio out enhancement that drives all levels a bit higher. Doubtful though that it will get added to an AOSP ROM besides the GPE port. Its just speculation based on how new features are added.

The GPE rom isn't just straight up AOSP, but a combination of sense framework and AOSP android. This is the reason that Beats works just like on a Sense 4.1 rom. I'm not sure if it could ever be ported to CM to be honest. It may rely on some of the Sense framework that's specific to GPE.

I'll have to correct you there. I did a little more searching, and found someone in the Wildfire S forums who had ported Beats from the GPE One to his unofficial CM10.1 ROM for the WFS. I asked him how he did so, and he said that you replace and add a couple files, and you can get it up and running.

Can you link me to that thread? I'd like to take a look!
But I also think that we still need to get our audio issues figured out 100% on CM10.1 & 2 for the DNA before we think about adding beats eqs into the mix. To my knowledge we still don't have the amps working correctly on CM.

Yea sure, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283549 . And I thought the audio issues were only with the external speakers? If it's possible to pull Beats from GPE, which I'm told is Sense based, would we be able to use the Sense 4.2.2 ROMs for trying to fix the AOSP audio issues?
