You clearly didn't do enough reading to find out that what you flashed was the US T-Mobile 4G which is what that thread is dedicated to.
Do some more searching and you will find the WIFI only NVFlash files OR you can flash the proper recovery and then flash the update.pkg to get you to the official honeycomb for your wifi Streak

[Q] Dell Streak Beyond Help???

Alright guys I am in desperate need of help!
I have a Dell Streak, I know it is the American version as I had a 3G connection on my provider (Fido), so it gets the bands the same as AT&T. I bought it from a local seller, so returning it to Dell is not an option
Problem: The only recovery IMG that doesn't give me a blank screen is Clockwork, but whenever I try to load any rom, it just gives me the Dell Logo.
No Roms work period, I can install the update zip but everything just hangs at the Dell Logo. Sometimes at the Dell Logo, the soft keys flash or the Logo does this weird purple thing like it will boot, but then it just keeps going in circles!
Only recovery that works is clockwork (v2.5.0.1)
I have tried atleast 5 others, have fastbooted, uploaded the stock recovery, but nothing works.
I have tried methods posted on various other sites, but I have no idea what my baseband is or any of that. I only had the phone for about 2 hours, and I wanted stock 2.1 on it as it was running a custom rom. I do not remember any specifics about the custom ROM except it was Froyo by DJ Steve.
Yes I have tried loading the same DJ Steve Rom, but nothing again just stuck at Dell Logo
I have also tried fastbooting and loading recoveries, but as I said all I get is the blackscreen. Only ClockworkMod works!
I dont know what other options there are in ClockWork that can help, and I dont want to mess it up further
I really like the phone but I cant use it !!
Any help would be awesome! Please guys I'm counting on someone to give me some help here please!
can probably sort this out for ya with some of my magic hackery drop into the #dellstreak irc channel on freenode and ill help out
same problem here

please help me as well exactly same problem im facing with my dell streak...i had ur 1.3 version installed then for some reason i factory resetted to erase data...but after that phone is stuck at dell logo....then i tried putting ur version 1.1.1 but still of no use.......help...
I was through the same issue. I must have fastbooted/flashed everything I can download in every order.
I did manage to get it working once, but it had so many exceptions in the log that I figured I try the official dell rom.
The three simple fastboot steps and a factory reset got me out of it. Now I have a working device, a "clean install".
Now what this means going away from the DJ roms, I don't know but I don't care for now. I have a working device in 5 mins.
I hope it works that easily for you too. I'm going to stay away from flashing until something stellar.

[Q] Help! Stuck at Dell screen

Hello, I have been trying to find the fix for this, but every post I have found has dead links. Does anyone have the files and method to fix this?
I received the Streak today from someone who had Froyo on it. When he tried to do a factory wipe on it before he gave it to me, it failed and now only boots to the Dell Screen. I tried using the clockwork recovery to install one of the updates from the SD card, but no luck.
Can anyone help? Thanks!
I think you should download dj Steve's 1.6 and install instead if running the updates from the card cuz when I tried to update with that update.zip in my as card I got an error message to... so I download dj Steve's 1.6 and put it on my card through another phone and used that update package and now phone runs better than fine.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, but I tried that after reading other posts, but the links to the downloads were all broken. Does anyone have an active link?

Much appreciated! The problem I am having is that the phone appears to be nearly bricked. I can get into fast boot and clockwork recovery, but all my attempts to update are having no affect. Some kept me at the Dell logo screen, but now it boots to a dark screen with light at the edges.
The posts I've read say I need to install the original factory rom, but every download page points back to the same page that says the file has been removed.
I've got fastboot installed and that is able to connect, but nothing seems to be working. It could be I am just not doing things right.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Woohoo!
Looks like I fixed it! The only thing that worked was using the QDL tool process, which was a little long and involved, but brought the Streak back to life! For anyone else, here is where I found great step by step instructions including videos:

Now time to learn all about this beauty!
Thanks!

[Q] Anyone want to fix my steak? I'll pay!

Have a dell streak that was running 2.2 fine..reformatted the sim card, then did a factory reset, and the phone just went into a reboot loop. Trust me, I have been to every resource on every forum and spent hours trying to fix it. I used QDL, streakflash, etc multiple times and on multiple computers. I was getting the error about the driver that everyone has, but i eventually figured out that it is not the driver, it is the fact that as soon as QDL gets to that point, the streak goes to the screen saying "factory reset, wait for reboot", over and over and over.
I have been able to get it to the point where I can get to fastboot, or the screen that allows you to restore from the sim, but that is it. I have flashed the recovery image with fastboot, i have tried restoring with the dell 309, 318 pkg's, the 2.2 rom, multiple times. Streakflash always gets me back to the ablity to enable fastboot screen, but qdl always takes me to the factory reset screen. Restoring from the sim SD card just brings up a black screen, and i've tried 3 different sd cards. Running the engineer test on the internal sd says everything is fine.
So, I have tried all of these steps 10 times or more, and I get nothing, so if anyone has another method, let me know...Also, as the title states, i will send my streak to you and pay you to get it back up and running, I don't care if its a custom rom or stock or 2.2 or 1.6 or whatever. At my wits end...
Also, I live in the chicago area if someone wants me to just bring it to them.
Thanks!
by sim card do u mean the microsd card ????
if ur able to get to the fastboot mode u r safe.
Have u tried flashing the CWM recovery ?
If ur able to do that flash then flash 1.5.1 streakdroid rom.
I always use fastboot and recovery to install roms.
Never used qdl and hence cannot answer questions there.

Just wanted to let everyone know that eowyn helped fix my streak, and was awesome and a great help. He sells phones in the market for what appear to be great prices also. Smart and knows what he's doing, and a great help...

Can't get dell streak 5 to work again

I am new to the android platform, so please don't "grill me on the spot"
And just so you know....I read and read and read about it, but I just can't figure this one out...
I am a Symbian modder and cook, so I actually know how to do stuff like this...
but now I am stuck
Heres the problem:
My friend had problems with his Streak 5, which I believe was released with Android 2.1
His System crashed and he went to an other friend that put on Android 1.6...
He told me it worked for about 3 days and then crashed again. So know he gave it to me to fix it.
SO this s what I did:
I figured that he probably downgraded it, while putting on 1.6 and so I thought that might be the reason for the crash.
So I tried a Froyo Version 345
Still doesn't work, so I tried the latest release Version 360 & 364...
which would mean, that there is no way I downgraded on the last boots...
but 360 wouldn't be recognized by the in recovery mode - option 2
so last one I did was 364...
Anyway...the problem is that it won't boot...it always stays on the Dell logo
after I put in the 364 and pushed recovery mode it, didn't say Error, so I figure it did something....
after that the dell logo disappears shortly then comes back again...(reboot?) but won't go farther than that
Now when I turn on the dell streak all that happens, is that the three buttons on the bottom light up, but no Dell logo...
I just can't figure this one out...can anybody help me out?
how did you flash were you using streak recovery or the dell recovery option or even clockwork mod may give people more of an idea
I tried to use streakflash, and all the other windows based flashing systems, but I couldn't get the driver to load...
I was using the dell recovery option
I was not able to install clockwork, because the phone was already not working before hand.
I tried a factory reset and different updates as "update.pkg" with the "recovery.img" as stated in the xda-wiki site.
Do you think the "old" files that have been on the sdcard can make problems?
should I use a clean sdcard? and if so, which files must all be on it, to get the dell alive again?

Best ROM to install on Venue as a Daily Driver

Hello,
I was wondering what's the best ROM to flash onto the Dell Venue so that I could use it as a daily driver? I obviously want android of course because Windows sucks.
Also are there any guides that I could follow to install this on my phone? I've flashed ROMs on regular android devices but never windows.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi, I think you could install either Deodexed 408 or CM7. Both of their links are now in Venue Development area, please have a look.
A rooted Deodexed 408, with bundled apps removed to suit your need is really what you might want to use as a normal user. Whereas, CM7 is great for ones who like a highly customizable ROM, or might want to build things on your own.
Just my 2 cents.
I've used Deoxed 408, CM7, and both working MIUI versions (there are 3 floating around XDA, only 2 work completely).
I prefer CM7 for it's look and feel. The MIUI's work great also, but I don't like the "in your face" graphics style. If you like those types of graphics/icons then the MIUI is a good choice. With CWM backup ability, it is easy to load several ROMs, customize them to your liking, and swap back and forth until you find one that you really like.
So i'm trying to get into fastboot mode to install CWM and I can't seem to get into it for the life of me.
I've turned off the power
slide the phone up (to show the keyboard)
held volume down & power
It just shows the dell logo and the phone boots up
I've also tried holding camera & power but I just get a cord connecting to a computer..which i'm sure isn't fast boot mode..any suggestions?

I was afraid you had a Venue Pro rather than Venue from reading your original post. You can not install Venue specific firmware on to your Venue Pro.
Yea just realized it and there isn't any development for the pro..dang it. Thanks anyways guys!
