Hey everyone, I have browsed this forum and the web quite a bit and could not find a yes/no answer to this question. I installed TSM's Resurrection v1.0 a couple of days ago and under setting/about phone/status under "Network" it says Digital Roaming. I noticed under the developers thread for this ROM it was discussed in the status/pull-down bar that it was not a problem and I just wanted to confirm that it was not an issue under the Network tab.
Since GB was never an official release for Samsung Fascinate, every GB rom has been ported from other phones. Mostly the other Samsung phones. So Digital Roaming is common. Nothing wrong with seeing it.

Hello all
First of all im not good english because my main language is italian anyway:
Im new i receiv this phone for a fews weeks ago my father gave me as gift from china.
Im using cyanogen mod 7 and i have kernel like 2.6.35.7-gedb93be [email protected] #1
The question is this: How i can update firmware automatic without doing so complicate and easy way to do??
I heard most people use SGH-I9100 and update with program Samsung Kies easy.
Well for this SGH-I777 cannot use kies and doesnt work either.
Any suggestion? Maybe a nice alternative for update in future?
Hope this information help a bit
Thank for support!
Alan
I'm pretty sure that's only possible if you have rom manager pro ...sort of , I'm pretty sure if you want to update you have to download and flash the update

Kies + cm7 would never work anyway. Cm7 is an aosp rom and kies only works with Samsung builds.

If you are trying to update CM7 to newer builds you can use rom manager paid app and have access to it. OR you can also download the newer CM7 updates from here http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=galaxys2att
If you are wanting to upgrade the stock samsung firmware then you will need to go back to stock samsung rom for kies to work I think.

Thanks for all guys i paid premium rom manager and there seems all ok!
Remain only a problem about NFC when i go setting wireless + NFC its show me grey out why? doesnt work?
NFC is not enabled yet on the AT&T version of this phone. Some developers have made progress in getting the phone to recognize the NFC chip, but no one has been able to enable full functionality of NFC.
Oh so i have to wait for next update version cyanogen mod for fix this problem? I hope so because need a lot nfc :s! thanks for quick reply u guys are great

Right now, NFC working in CM7 is still quite a ways away... I have only succeeded in partial functionality with official Samsung firmware.
The problem is that the AOSP/CM7 Nfc.apk does NOT like our stock device's JNI libraries (crashfest) - but using the Nexus S JNI libs causes the behavior you describe.
Aosp? Ehm well im a noob lol i dont understand at all about technology especial telephone instead computer antway i try to learn as quick as i can :/

Learning
I hear you, man. After the last few years with iPhones, I am learning a ton since coming here.
AOSP is Android Open Source Project. It is often used to mean plain android without any 3rd party changes like HTC sense or Samsung TouchWiz.
Cyanogen builds their ROMs straight from AOSP. Other devs start with already modified versions. For example UnNamed and Serindipity are built off of the Samsung modified android that came on our phones.

Lol now understand clear thank a lot! Too bad that i couldnt use nfc right now....i wonderf when can be able to enable? :S any clues?

Rule number one of Cyanogen Mod is do not ask for dates. I would say that applies here too. Even if the devs can get NFC to work it is very unlikely we will be able to use google wallet, which is the big draw for a lot of people.

I knew some of what you were talking about, but I am a little unclear about the link between AOSP and stock Android. They don't actually put out anything that is usable by average consumers, right? Their output is solely for the dev community?

My New rooted phone
Hello, I am a newbie to this whole rooting thing. I just had my phone rooted with UnNamed ROM v2.2.1 so far the phone has been really fast and smooth. Its a nice clean setup. The big question is, now what? What should be my next step? Nothing big since I`m still learning. Maybe a theme? I not sure. Thanks for any input. Have a great night.
Do whatever you feel like doing, or leave it as it is if it works for you. That's the beauty of Android, you always have choices. Enjoy your phone, it's a beast.

Hey,
Has anyone heard of when and if Samsung will be releasing an ICS update for the vibrant? I've only seen newer model phones on the update list so far.
We are never going to get an official ICS? We never even had one leak of gingerbread. If you want official ICS, then the vibrant isnt for you. Sorry.
Well your new an no an you never know what could happen do

Its no secret Samsung stopped supporting vibrant . Give up the ideas of any updates.
You want ICS? Then passion is the rom you want.
Want just gingerbread? Go cm7.
End of story, nothing else to see here. Upgrade to newer phone if you want official updates. That is all: )

Don't think so... I think problem isn't Samsung, problem lies with T-mo...
I'm counting on Neo (and entire CM team, and team hacksung, and every other community members) to make ICS work for us!!!
Cyanogenmod is no longer supporting the vibrant as well

Yea if you want ICS Passion V5 rom is the way to go just recently did this to my vibrant and re fell in love with my phone its like a new phone all over again
(yes i just registerd but ive been on the site for a bit just never bothered to reg)
I got fed-up with waiting for an official GB from Samsung/T-mobile and I had been running CM 7.1 since September which was good while it lasted. But I got more tired with the Vibrant's crappy GPS; mine has never worked properly since day one even with all the tweaks. Then the 911 issue and realize that this phone is the redheaded stepchild of the Galaxy S family that nobody really wants to support and I gave up.
Got an unlocked Galaxy Nexus two weeks ago and haven't looked back. I really miss the Vibrant though. I liked its size, just felt right in the hand. The GNex is a great phone but yes it is a little too large IMO. But.....updates are from Google, already got an OTA for the volume bug, and even the GPS is so much better. The GNex "just works" which is something I could never have said about the Vibrant. Never again will I get duped into buying a carrier supplied phone as long as I can help it.
Hi guys,
I'm still running cognition x2 beta on my phone since I got it and I've spent quite a bit of time reading how to posts and so on, when it comes to installing ICS.
I was looking at a few different roms available and was wondering if I could use a i9100 rom on the AT&T i777?
I've searched for this but maybe I'm not doing it right because I haven't found anything. Thanks

Hey ppl of the forum!
This is my first post here........well this is my first post in any forum!
Its June and I wanted to know opinions of which rom is stable/crash less so far for u guys !! Its June and there's been a lot of revisions and updates for most of the ICS Roms out there. After reading most of the forums AOKP seems to be it.........or am i wrong??
Oh if this topic is not allowed for flaming......sorry!!! I understand how annoying it can be.
Since you mentioned AOKP, go ahead and run it. Very stable ............ again, based on my definition.
Note: nobody will flame you since this will be closed as the speed of the bullet.
Just do you a favor.
lol Figured....one question about AOKP....i just flashed it a couple of days ago....f-ing love it....will it be reliable enough for some one who travels a lot???

I'm not sure if it still functions in Mars or Moon, but as long as you stay on Earth, it works very well.
lmao i am tooo broke for that stuff!
I was thinking more of the line if I traveled and it crashed will be stuck with no PHONE!!!!!!
AOKP will keep you good. I've ran it since Task650 brought it to our phone and I've yet to have any problems.

Thank Dude!!!
Yeah, either AOKP or Serindipity from Mikey will do wonders fo yo foneee
If you like TouchWIz, ShoStock is also very good.
Just because something is stable for us it may not be for u. Flash them all. We're all here to learn and grow together. Oh and have fun.

I did and AOKP seem to be it for me... i just wanted to know what other had experienced with Roms...I forgot which one it was but one of them randomly turned my screen on and I though I was getting a message but it was just the screen turning on and off randomly!
You can also head over to the GT-i9100 forums and find a ROM there and Hellraise it. Hellraising is basically like porting. Im using the KOUD AOSP ROM and it's one of the best onse ive used so far. The Simplistic Disaster Earthquake III ROM is also a work of art.
Mystic has a very good touch whiz ics rom. Here's the thread

Hey Guys,
I have a Vzw GS3. I live in a 'fringe area', signal wise, so I've never been able to use any of the AOSP roms available for the phone. From what I understand it has to do with Samsung not releasing the modem drivers and people having to reverse engineer them to get it to work.
Was wondering how the GS4 compares...if it's the same story or..?
Anyway, input would be appreciated. I'd like to get the phone, but I'm tired of Touchwiz.
Thanks!
damon
Nothing, eh?
There was a thread here yesterday that I can't find back.... It said no issues on aosp roms concerning data..... Same speed and signal as touchwiz.

I haven't noticed any signal segregation at all since I've I wiped out touchwiz and installed a cm nightly
