Guys,
Not sure if any of you have seen this but we now have a selection of new brushes available for painting using a Tablet.
Nomad Brushes
These brushes are being marketed for the iPad but as is in most of the case, what works on the iPad's screen should work with other Tablets.
Basically I came across this yesterday and immediately started off a communication with a UK seller to ascertain if these new painting brushes would work with 'non-iPad' Tablets.
This UK company I found gave an excellent follow-up where we exchanged several messages during the course of the morning.
The outcome being by 2PM I decided I had enough information from them and ordered a pack of two brushes directly from said UK company.
The brushes I ordered as a pack were the Nomad Brush Short Tip and the Nomad Brush Long Tip.
(You can see all the brushes from the UK seller here.
Those outside UK can obtain all four brushes direct from Nomadbrush here).
The twin pack I ordered can be found for sale here.
Note: By ordering the twin pack you have a reduction of £5.
Anyway, this morning, some 18hrs later both brushes turned up at my door.
I signed for the package, hurriedly took them out of their respective boxes, loaded up Sketchbook Pro and set about trying them out.
I am very (no make that ecstatically excited) pleased to report both brushes work superbly.
Using a stylus for painting is one thing but using one of these brushes is just sheer magic.
Am I happy...... you bet I am.
Okay... Sorry but for UK shoppers only; I have managed to secure a 10% discount on any purchases from the shop I received my Brushes from.
To obtain the code simply click on the link at the web site HERE and note the code given. This will then get you 10% off the purchase price.

ok ok ok. lets give it a few days to settle in. I hope after a few days go by and the magic pixy dust washes off you feel the same. But as with the Jot you can see the diff in alot of our attitudes after a few days.
I like to draw, sketch, etc - for fun and would be interested to get your feedback again after a few more days of your testing- please report back.

That is what I call a little bit of negativity.
Also, I don't do Magic Pixy Dust.... I do research.
Besides, these brushes don't require any pressure whatsoever, nor do they need to be held at a specific angle so they're not going to have the issues you found with the Adonit Jot Stylus.
You look at them, they look like a real brush, they feel like a real brush and with the right software they perform like a real brush.
I can not see how these are going to fail.
I'm also sorting out a 10% discount for UK shoppers if they wish to purchase from the company I received mine from.

I can see how you might have read it that way across the pond and all-- but i actually was poking fun at myself.
Meaning sometimes when you get a new product it is like they sprinkled magic pixy dust on it and no matter what you will think it is great until the dust wears off....
But seriously- i would like to hear how you feel about them a few days from now- and your results if you tried with other drawing apps- maybe supernotes drawing app part-( i know it doesnt compare to sketchbook)

Okay Guys..... I have managed to get a 10% discount going for any purchases off the sale price from ALL items from the UK Store I purchased my Brushes from.
Sorry, it is only with the UK Store.
P.S. Yes, I paid full price for my brushes but I am very happy with the service I received (both written & delivery). As such I am happy to recommend them.
See the foot of Post 1 for details.

Here is THE case

Remember that magenta case that the Pure was shown in at Engadget before its release? It's a thin, rubberized plastic case.

Looks like a great case.... I may have to get one. Thanks for the link!
thank you
looks good, I will order one.
I have the black one and love it. Good fit and great protection.
i've been looking for a decent case. thnks for posting.
can someone please post some pics of this case?
Thx

Thanks for the link ive been looking for a cheap and good case. Ill order one later.
Thanks again
is it similar to this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/BLACK-SILICONE-...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item45efad84eb
Thanks, 'bout time they got this out. I already wasted $20 on e-bay ordering one from Japan but for Topaz, not Pure.
Here's the shots, basically you have rubberized plastic for $14.99 or hard plastic and silicone for $12.99.
I have the silicon case that a lot of people sell on ebay. It's pretty good, but it's thick, and it tends to snag when you slide it into your pocket. Plus, the bottom buttons are not that easy to access because the silicon case is so thick. You have to point your finger at the buttons directly or it's difficult to press talk/end/back/windows.
I also have one of the snap together covers, which just arrived from eBay about two days ago. I don't know if these are all made from the same manufacturer, but the snap together cover that I got (made with the rubberized plastic that everybody advertises and sounds like such a great idea) is pretty much crap.
The inner part of the cover is not even painted black, which means you can see white through the side cutouts when it's installed on the phone. I kept this on my phone for all of three minutes. It's not even worth the few dollars I paid for it. Again, I don't know if there are multiple manufacturers, but the one I got is really really poor quality.
I would like to try the single back cover that the OP linked at the top of this thread. I haven't tried one of those yet.
thanks guys for reviewing and commenting.
as you all, I'm also sick of wasting precious $$ on all sort of promises and nice pictures.
so, can we say the final verdict is on the one part case? (as posted in the first post)
thx
case is awesome... just got it yesterday. very pleased.

I agree. I'm sick of wasting money on junk. I didn't mention in my above post that I also bought an HTC OEM neoprene pouch that fits my Pure perfectly and that I got for about $5 on eBay. So I've been using that when I go jogging and don't want the Pure to be flipping around in my pocket.
The next best thing I like is the silicon case, which is just a little bit builky but has a great hand feel to it and fits really well. It's also completely impervious to fingerprints. The only drawback here is the button-pressing and the snagging as you push it into your pocket.
I suppose the ideal case would be the one mentioned in the first post, if it's well made and you use a clearprotector for the top of the Pure (which I do use). I think I might wait until the price comes down on these from $14.95 to something more reasonable, given my experience with the other "rubberized" junk case that's now sitting in the trash.

G-tab accessories

Hey peeps, just picked up my G-Tab and need a screen protector and other small accessories. Any tips you can share before I hack the crap out of this device? Where is the best place to get accessories?

unfortunately there really are no accessories yet. i'm waiting on a screen protector myself, for now leaving the one that came on it on. picking up a business card holder at officemax today until the hdmi dock comes out. so i guess get to hacking
Man that's important... need to find a substitute then...

some people are getting netbook screen protectors and cutting them to fit, but i've gotta believe there will be ones made for the gtablet soon..
Send emails to the major vendors - I am going to start doing that. The more we ask, the more likely screen protectors will become available.

One good thing to know is that these ship with 2 layers of conductive film in place so if you smooth out the air bubbles in the shipping film they work pretty darn good for at least the short term...

yep, i still have my bottom layer on. the edges don't look good though.
I want to order a Nushield for my gtab. Do u think that would help with the viewing angles?
I bought this case from Amazon. I chose it because it had carry handles (can you say "man purse"?) The gtablet fits very well width wise, but has an extra inch or two height wise. It also has a pocket for cables and a few extras. Soft interior. I also ran across this same thing at Sams Club as a "one-time buy" for less than $10.

I Recognize This!!
I recognize this. When I bought my G-Tablet at Sears, they gave me one of these for free!
It was packaged in G-Tablet packaging like it is the one G-Tablet will provide, but it still has the "Case Logic" tag one.
It works well and has an auxiliary pocket -- but the tablet fits inside loosely so I'm looking for some padding to make it a little more solid and provide additional protection.
But for $5.99...........what do you expect!!!!????

Beautiful ornate black iron stand for G-tablet < $10

I love my Arkon stand, but got tired of folding it up and tucking it in the case to carry to work so I started looking for another. Found this one on Amazon and thought it would look great ... and it does! Comes in gold too.

It is way classier-looking than any other I have seen and works just as well in Portrait mode. A caveat, they are buying these from china and the welding is not as precise so you may need to (like I did) take some pliers to it to straighten the arms a bit. I had some foam grip things made for pens/pencils that slid over the arms to make a nice cushy bed for my tab.
I clicked the link and while it describes a stand, it shows pictures of Boots. Yeah, BOOTS! Haha, and also keep in mind that the person purchasing would have to have Amazon Prime to get it for under $10 shipped. (I do have amazon prime, but I'm not in need of boots ) But it does qualify for FSSS (spend $25 on qualifying products and free shipping).
The picture you posted does look really nice though.

Yes, and in fact once I placed the order - that is what showed (picture) with the description of the stand so I wrote the seller. I made it EXTREMELY clear that if it was not exactly as described, they would be getting it back ... on their dime. They replied immediately, assuring me the stand was what was ordered. And that IS what I received.
That is the beauty of Amazon and prime, the service is unparalleled. If something is not exactly as described, refund is easy and immediate and if it is not a big-ticket thing, generally I keep the wrong item for free.
In reality it is every bit as nice as the (non-boots) picture. Very pleased with it and if anyone else in the family had tabs, they would be getting them as gifts.
With it being cast iron, I would think that it would be pretty rough on the case of the G-Tab. Any other stand that I have found has some sort of "padding".
I saw similar stands in Wal-Mart today for about $3.50. I bought the wooden ones for a few cents more.

Funny you should mention that. I was originally thinking of some heat-shrink tubing over the little arms that hold the tab and then saw something on a clearance table at the dollar store.
The little foam sleeves that go on pens and pencils fit perfectly. Come in beaucoup colors too.

The Diztronic extended battery TPU Case review.

I thought I would post this up for those that don't want to go the otterbox or the modifying their own routes.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006M7IJ2G/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
So far I have been happy with it. The fit could be a tiny bit better, but overall it's not bad. I first modified a regular TPU case and wasn't real happy with the job I did. So I looked around and it was either this, the VZW one(which I have for my bionic and it sucks), or this. But it was 20 after shipping so I went with the diztronic for 12.90, and I have prime through school. I'll try and post up pics later next week. I'll have to dust off the bionic to do so.
My biggest complaint has to be the fact that they left an opening for the power button instead of just creating a pseudo button like they did with the volume rocker. It also has a real good lip to keep the face up off of the surface of a table, ground, etc. It really does seem to offer decent protection against possible drops and stuff.
Also, no one paid me to do this. I just saw that there didn't seem to be any reviews about the extended battery cases in the accessories forum, so I thought I would add my experience. As I hate being a guinea pig on new products because I hate spending money on something I ultimately end up hating.

The one with the kickstand? I don't dislike it, it just didn't seem to offer that much protection. Lots of open spaces around the top and bottom. That is if we are talking about the same case. I didn't used to care that much about cases till I dropped my first D2 and shattered the face. Then I started caring. Fortunately since then, I haven't had anymore issues.
Anyway, for 13 dollars shipped, I can't complain. Especially given the limited selection out there.

noo, it's the same as verizons standard TPU case for it....but its extended lol
I gotcha. I would thank you, but I have given out all my thanks allowed for today.

Finally! A case! Protection... Possibly.

So upon searching and searching I found a few bumpers made for the moto 360. This company is a 3d printing service that creates sells and ships based on customer code.
They have 2 different style cases for the g watch. One with a cover and one without. I think if the cover is fully removable and looks good I'd want that. I seem to cross my arms a lot and tend to wake up the watch. But not to the point battery life is affected. A matte screen protector works just fine.
Check this out. Let me know if you have one or order one. The plain black looks reasonably priced. Wish there were real photos.

I'm trying to picture that on my wrist, and I just don't see it....
Maybe it would have looked better if they could have figured out a way to make it be round.

Not for me but it sure reminds me of the old Swatch guards lol!
Looks like the design was updated a bit.
Looking at the dimensions though, the case is actually quite thin, and doesn't increase the footprint of the watch very much.
The developer just updated the design of both models with and without covers. I am probably going to order black strong and flexible with the removable cover! Here is a photo he sent of the actual finished product (before revisions so current one will be even better)
I kinda want to see what that looks like on the watch. Is the watch screen easy to scratch and break?
I have had my watch for a week or two. It's got a screen protector. It's probably not going to break as it's secured to wrist. But I'm afraid I'll scuff the frame from a door or something.
I would never put such a monstrosity on my watch.
Ok. So the revision should arrive to the designer around January 14th. I will share any information as it arrives. So I would say my full review should be no later than the end of January.
If you are in a hurry and don't want to wait, just go ahead and order one. $17.99 with shipping for the latest version with the removable cover in Blue Strong & Flexible.
If you can wait, I would try to hold off for 1 month just in case it needs any more tweaking.
Here is a coupon code for 10% off valid until 12/30/14:

I love it! When I work it would help protect my watch. When and where can I buy?
So the developer is awaiting the receipt of his final revision. Pics should be any day now. I'll post asap. I'll be ordering one for sure!
It's the link in my first post, if you don't want to wait. You'll get the latest revision but I'm waiting for him to examine it just to be sure. He's already made adjustments.
Got mine shipped ?
Would love to see some pics and perhaps a review once you receive it.

I would also like to see when it will arrive?
I am so happy (for the sake of the developer) that I'm not the only one excited!
I would order one but the one with the cover has required extra adjustments. If I didn't need the cover I would have pulled the trigger.
The cover is removable. I just want extra display protection and the ability to have my watch vibrate without others being able to see it. This case bypasses the theater mode bug.
It will be like Christmas all over again. As promised to the developer, I will be doing a full review here, on a few other forums, and on YouTube. As for the time frame, I would say a week after the revision is inspected by the developer, so the 21st of January.
Ehhhh....Try Again
Really not what I expected. It is very light, yet feels very cheap. It falls off all the time. I take off my sweatshirt and it gets stuck in the sleeve and comes off. Next time, make one that wraps all the way around.
One thing i do like about it is that you cant even feel that its on there and now its harder for something to hit my screen....even though i already have some scratches.....
In my opinion, I would wait for an updated case... don't buy this one........
I placed my order yesterday for the latest revision, fully functioning, with cover. The main link posted here has been updated by the designer with photos. Just click through the colors.
I ordered the black detail. I am really excited.
@joedow325 maybe you could express your concerns to the designer. While I haven't personally used the product yet, it sounds like something I'd like still. I want it to be easily removable / interchangeable. And I don't really wear long sleeves that much. I dunno. I would think there could be a way to have a back snap on like a phone case. I wouldn't want any added thickness though. Millimeters start to add up ya know.

have to say its the most ugly case i have ever saw.
What is so ugly about it? Especially the one without the flip cover. It isn't like it makes the watch huge. Typical judgy people saying negative things before they even try once themselves. Just wait for my full review...
dude. its a watch!
