If you have kies the drivers should install when the phone in download mode is connected.
Try other com ports too.

At the momment it comes up as unknown device, when in download mode.
I've checked all over google and current download says over 12hrs so if anyone knows a quick link please help.
Download Kies. It'll install the drivers needed.

tried that, when it's in normal mode it gets reconised but as soon as i put it in download mode / flash mode, it says device unknown
Connect phone to KIES let KIES find phone .
Turn off phone and PC
Reboot and put phone in USB mass storage mode and connect with USB cable let PC find and install drivers .
Flashing turn KIES OFF
Open ODIN load required file in correct section
Put phone to download mode and read the instructions on the first download window .
Connect Samsung USB cable to a mainboard USB port .
You should now have yellow block showing in ODIN .

Try it on someone else's computer, I kept running in to issues, and changed the USB port I was using, removed SD card, unplugged USB cable after I got the "PASS!" message in Odin.
Additionally ensure you have the right files

Make sure you are in odin mode on the device. I came from HTC One and didn't put my device in Odin mode. Duh.. right? lol.
You can get into Odin mode by doing "adb reboot-bootlaoder"
for the best results:
1.use an official Samsung cable
2. unplug all unneeded usb devices
3.reboot into download mode again
4.connect to a usb 2.0 port on the back of the pc
5.run odin as an admin
if that dose not work, make sure kies is removed, and re-install the Samsung drivers,
reboot pc, and try again.
solved similar problem...
reboot your phone into download mode, but yet not proceed, plug into pc, open odin (as administrator), put the firmware files in their respective places, and finally press vol up to proceed in download mode and press start, it must solve, if all else does not help .. hugs
Hope this helps, if so please press "thanks" ..

Do one thing when you are trying to connect in downloading , just make sure kies is not running at background.
Thing is kies blocks that connection which you are trying to make. It worked for me as well. All the best.

This worked for me after having so many problems. Nobody was clear on how to fix it. I had soft bricked my phone. It wouldn't connect to Kies or allow any pit or rom being flashed to it. Everything would fail. I tried doing what you said and it worked. I always got the errors 'No pit partition' etc.
I plugged in the USB without the battery in.
Phone wouldn't switch on into recovery without battery in so I put it back in.
I then took it out and Odin wouldn't connect to it and start the process without the battery in so I put it back in.
I loaded up the pit file and started it! You should have seen my face! haha! It worked!
It booted up! Hooray!
I switched it off and booted it in recovery mode.
Installed new rom (hopefully this won't break)
Thank goodness for that. I feel your pain guys. If you need any help just message me.

download your firmware from Samsung-updates.com or sammobiles.com
download kies or Samsung mobil drivers and install close kies after install(confirm)
download odin and start it place the pda modem csc files according to your firmware if it is a single file place it in pda
switch off your phone then press vol down+hom+power button you will get a screen press vol up for downloading connect it to pc
odin will show the com port connected no start it will finish in 3 min
phone will restart now it is good that you wipe data and cache from recovery mod
also without flashing you can try aroma fm and try to edit the build.prop
check arom fm here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
install it in cwm go to system and edit build.prop you will find a line with lcd density there change it to your correct density that will do

Try to install drivers or try another USB cable, another port, another Odin version

Something is really strange.
Home+Volume Up+Power should get you into Recovery. This is where you can do a Factory Reset - depending on the Recovery you installed. If the Recovery won't boot, you'll need to flash another from Download mode.
Home+Volume Down+Power should get you into Download mode. This is where you can connect to a PC and use ODIN to flash a new Recovery, firmware or ROM.
The information about not seandroid enforcing is because there not a stock kernel present. So that can be ignored. This is normal if your phone is rooted.

Has you computer ever detected your phone before?
Have you downloaded the drivers for ODIN to be able to connect to your phone?
Have you tried using Kies? http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
Installing Kies will install the drivers, and when you use it, it will search for the stock firmware and will install it.
