Did any of you guys realize that touch to share works with 2 touchpad too!!! it uses Bluetooth connection to connect and you can share information from one touchpad to another like web-pages and other stuff!!!
so since it uses Bluetooth technology to share... can this be utilized to share information with other non webos devices too???

Isn't touch to share NFC technology?
You do not need to touch to share bluetooth.

i thought the same way too.. but when u put one touchpad on top of another p) it prompt me to turn on my Bluetooth on both touchpads... then only after i turned on bluetooth it connected and started working!!! so i am thinking its over Bluetooth not NFC and i have never seen anyone mention NFC technology integrated in touchpad!!!
thatz why i was interested to find out.... if its over bluetooth it should not be that hard for a awesome dev to write code to have it working with other bluetooth enabled smart phones.

hotrod10 is talking about the webos touch to share feature hp implemented across their newer webos devices. hp's implementation uses bluetooth in this case.
more info here: http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/09/hps-touch-to-share-eyes-on-starring-the-touchpad-and-hp-pre-3/

I,ve just received the adapt handsfree carkit/craddle.
I,m running a wwe 1.19 ROM but the HD doesn't support the USB headset.
Does somebody has an idea how to solve this problem.
I have the same carholder, and get the same message when I plug the HD in. That said, the charging and handsfree communication work fine.
However while it is not really a problem I'd like to see a solution too...
edit: Dutch original rom btw.
This problem can't be solved - the touch hd doesn't support audio out with usb. You have to use the 3.5mm

Is there no 3.5mm to USB adaptor that would allow the 3.5mm audio port to be connected to USB peripherals? I don't even know if that would be possible, because I assume it would require some kind of analogue to digital converter, to turn the audio signal into a data stream, but I thought it might be worth people looking to see if such a product exists.

IMO, the OS you run it on doesn't make a difference. If you ran it on 4.1, then there isn't a reason why you shouldn't on 4.2.

Looks like no. All the industry firsts were with Sony/Ericsson.
I actually read that the Droid X uses texas instruments WiLink 6.0 which supports ANT+ protocol.
Strange not to take advantage of it since it's already there! So I'm really asking whether anyone knows if Atrix is equipped with WiLink 6.0 or later.
Peace
Adam
Seems like a no here, according to ifixit site the atrix does not use the WiLink but instead uses a Broadcom solution for Bluetooth and Wifi. Based on what I can see, none of broadcom's solutions support ANT+.
However, there may still be light at the end of the tunnel. See this:

I have read that the bluetooth stack is not same as og evo. I am curious if anyone had info on this. If it its true it might and I stress might allow us to use bt devices such as wii or ps3 controllers. Now with full hdmi mirroring this could make for the ultimate gaming phone for those into emulation. What are ur thoughts?

i use a wiimote on my evo4g now. Just have to run an AOSP rom not SENSE.
I love the idea of emulating from my phone like I do now, playing Final Fantasy 3/6, 7, Tactics with a wiimote is already epic on the phone, couldn't imagine on a huge TV so easily now too. I ned a tv worth it though.
I have not found any custom roms I trust enough to void my warranty for. I have ran cm6 and cm7 and I did like them but as many phones as I have went through especially my hero last year ill stick with stock sense and hope evo 3d will allow such bt devices such as wii or ps3 remotes to work
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
what does the thread title and the OP have to do with each other?
The Evo 4G supports bluetooth profiles like A2DP for wireless stereo headsets, and FTP and OPP (object push) for file transfers. But when it comes to connecting an interface device, it does not support bluetooth HID (human interface device) profiles. It only supports SPP (serial port protocal).
Which is why things like the MSI BGP100, and the FreedomPro Keyboard work with it. Both of these devices use SPP bluetooth profiles. Drivers were created and released in the market, and a stock Evo 4G can connect to these.
Everyone blamed the HTC Sense interface for why we couldn't connect HID devices, (Wii Mote, and several keyboards, mice, etc). Which is why the OP mentions Sense 3D, because he still thinks it was sense that did it. It wasn't actually Sense that did it. HTC just never built bluetooth HID profiles into the phone.
AOSP roms don't have sense, but they are also built from ground 0, so they have HID profiles built into them. A lot of people have mistakenly thought that it was taking Sense completely out, that brought bluetooth HID back in, but it was really just coincidence.
For example, iPhones don't come with HID profiles, but someone in Cydia released an app that alters the bluetooth stack for you, and adds additional profiles. Theoretically, someone could have done this for the Evo 4G, but no one has yet.
That being said, I have seen several sites, including HTC's own, showing bluetooth HID under the specs for the Evo 3D. This isn't something I was ever able to find for the Evo 4G.
Don't quote me on it, but I am banking on all the WiiMote apps, bluetooth keyboard apps, and any other bluetooth input device, working properly with the Evo 3D right out of the box.
Thank you bradley. that is exactly what I was curious about. u answered my question and educated me at same time. that was much appreciated.

Looks very interesting, no mattet what anyone here says, would recommend email or call to them. This way if issue have valid return reason, email best for tracking. If someone confirms to work, does not mean all features tested. Looking more at this when have more time, thank you for the post.

the n-trig pen is a technology vendors can implement, and only htc flyer and lenovo thinktablet got n-trig support. as the display require to support active pen-displays.
you will need to wait for the nextgen HTC Quattro which were planned to have the n-trig support at well but as 10.1" tablet with tegra3. its not out and might be dropped as well.
but the technology is only on a few tablets for now.
Samsung uses a different pen technology, so its not used with samsung products at all.
Hi all,
Does anyone know if MirrorLink support is available for HTC phone?
I saw an video in this link, and they demo a HTC mode in Luxgen Sedan 5's Head Unit.
It looks like MirrorLink, but not sure if they are the same thing.
If there is any ROM that can support this feature, that would be a plus.

Not sure about HTC's plans (i've done a lot of mirrorlink related googling and never seen HTC come up even though they are mentioned as a 'charter member' on the mirrorlink website - http://www.mirrorlink.com/about/membership/member-list.html) - my guess would be you won't see anything from HTC on it for a good few months at least.
We are currently limited to only the S3 but there are a number of members here hoping for compatibility with other phones and so a couple of guys are kindly looking into it when they can. It might not happen anytime soon but worth keeping an eye on these threads...

Hi,
FYI
HTC seems now supports MirrorLink & its HSML(High Speed MediaLink) which will be available in MirrorLink 1.2 as well as Miracast.

LOL - nice, only took them a year Good to see other phones getting support though.
ML Over HTC one
HTC one supports Mirror Link. Once you connect you mirror Link device HTC, just go to notification area and press USB connection.
There you will get Mirror Just select that. After that your device can discover the HTC mirror Link Server. This works with ML 1.1 and it has HSML server.
It gives you very high FPS of 15-25.

the mirrorlink is available on high end phone devices, such as HTC one, or HTC one max.
but I only tested in HTC device for TW SKU. not sure if it is available outside Taiwan, R.O.China.

The interesting finding is that: HTC implements MirrorLink 1.1 together with its HTC's proprietary mirroring technology HSML (aka High Speed Media Link) which is already included in MirrorLink standard 1.2) itself instead of purchasing RealVNC MirrorLink software stack like Sony mobile phones.

You must have ML client to connect to any ML server like HTC.
steps:
1. Connect HTC phone to ML client
2. In the notification area of HTC under USB connection select Mirror Link
3. Now start your client application and star discovery.
4. Ideally it should show the car application on client application list.
5. Make sure that you have NCM driver installed in your client.
