HELLO!!
I downloaded button remapper and now all of my hardware heys on the lower part of the phone (Menu, home, search, Erc..) do not work.. I do not get any captivate feedback either. ITs like their completely gone..
I trired to restore old config from button remapper but its the same state.. Can someone please help me by directing me in the correct direction to get these working?
Fyi- The volume and power button works fine still... just the light up captivate buttons.

No, I have not... Will I loose stuff? I just rather prevent that if possible.

Yes you will. If your rooted and have unlocked bootloader. Use titanium backup back up your apps with data. Then flash the sbf redownload titanium and restore your apps and. Data

I think im gonna do a wipe anyways cause my disk has so many things I just dont use anymore... When I nandroid'ed, it brought me back to CM7 (not CM7.1)... so, I think Ill start fresh like it's a new phone
Good idea also formatting your SD card wouldn't be a bad idea

Ive have tried almost ever roms on this site and LOVE them BUT with all the latest and greatest ones when i touch CONTACTS it pops up then disappears.
I so badly want to use these lovely roms but not being able to use my contacts is killing me. Anyone PLZZZZ any help?
Thats because you restore backups from WM5. You cant do that.
What should i restore too? I don't get it.
I always use this RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1.exe
Then i install the ROM i like.

Two things to Check.
1. Are you hard resetting after installing the WM6 ROM
2. Are you using a backup from your old version (using third party S/W like sprite SPB backup etc).
If you are not doing 1. then do it
if you are doing 2. then dont do it.
Simply do a Hardreset after flashing the WM6 you try!
CommManager + Camera button (holding these two) - doing a softreset and answer the question with YES (pushing the green Send button)! That's it!
I have only ever had this (RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1.exe)
on my phone , thats the way i got it when i bought it off a guy and he told me to use that was the latest ROM for my prophet S200 G4. And yes i do hard reset after every install of roms.
THE ONLY THING IVE EVER DONE WITH THIS PHONE
1) Installed RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1.exe
2) Installed NEW ROMS then hard reset. ALL works perfect but contacts on all roms i try.
IF I NEED TO USE SOMETHING BESIDES OR DIFFRENT FROM RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1.exe PLEASE TELL ME.

YES M8 I do this EVERY time :-( Every rom....And still contacts problem.
are u sure that you are doing the HR correctly?
HR solved that problem to me...
And I restored a backup with pimbackup from wm2003!

I have a issue after getting Failed to boot 1, then SBFing using the leaked sbf file from XDA.... My home and back buttons have reversed functionality!!! Please help me!
Yesterday my home button wasn't working at all,
I ended up fixing by doing a factory reset through Settings > Privacy, but you could also do it through the stock recovery on powerup.

My Thoughts Are Factory Reset It, That Doesn't Work Try SBFing Again.(It Sucks BUT It Could Work.)
Thanks guys but ive tried all of that, SBFing, Factory reset, everything and its gotta be software because both of the buttons work! Im looking for someone with a X2 that wouldnt mind giving me a nandroid back up of the internal sd, im thinking this might fix it, Ima leave the battery out all night and see if that does anything... hopefully it will fix it because verizon is giving me hell and motorola is giving me the runaround sending me on dummy missions!
Hi, I recently rooted my sk17i using the unsecure kernel and superoneclick. Then I accidentally uninstalled one system application that was necessary in the phone. So I decided to do a factory reset in the phone.
After the reset, phone was still rooted, everything was normal and fresh. But then I noticed that the Home button is not working.(can't minimize tasks) :-(
All other buttons are working normally. Another difference I found was, when i long press the power button, Only the 'power off' option is displayed. Earlier there were silent mode and flight mode.
Then i tried connecting usb to my laptop. Earlier, everything was working fine. Now memory card is not connected in MSC mode. And I can't use usb tethering.
Another problem I found was, when I short press the power button, as usually display turns off. But when I press it again, screen comes instantly without showing the unlock slider. I can't use any screen lock security because the screen is not getting locked.
Everything was perfect even after rooting. I can't understand what will possibly go wrong after a factory reset.
Please help. Thanks in advance..

I'm no expert so apologies if this is no help.
Have you tried to get the phone into fastboot mode again to re-flash the ROM?
I should imagine this would restore all the .apk you have removed including the essential app that has caused your problem.

Thanks for ur response. Now after all the experiments I conducted on my phone, I realize what a foolish question that was. . what I realize now is :
A factory reset will only wipe the /data partition. if any file is deleted from the /system partition, it is gone for ever. so, flashing the ROM is the only solution.

OK so heres my problem, I didnt drop the phone or anything like that, but one day i just noticed that my home and menu hardware keys werent working but the back key does, then i noticed that whenever i slide the phone to the side, the phone freezes, and tries to redraw the image in landscape while the keyboard is out, but it cant for some reason. but it can draw it in landscape without the keyboard out.

Has anyone experienced this problem, is it a softwarre issue or a hardware issue.
I can also get back into cwm but i cant select anything because the middle hardware button is not working. im guessing because i cant use it in cwm its a software issue but i just had to make sure. i want to know if i should use flashtool and go back to stock so i can give it to my provider to fix or if i should try something else.
Another thing, this is the only phone i have access to so i dont want to do anything that isnt reversable with out the use of the two hardware keys i mentioned.
Please please help me with this.

I've used that rom for a while.
Never experienced something like that.
Once a time I found phone switched off, but I don't think it depends on rom...
But, more from a shot it takes...
Try to restore original rom (with SEUS).
If the problem persist, use Your warranty!

Thanks but you see the problem is that i dont want to restore with seus just incase it is a hardware issue, coz then i wouldnt have a phone to use, as it is my only device. does anyone else have any suggestions. Please anything will be cool.

If it is a hardware issue and you use SEUS, it'll just mean you'll still have the same problems you have now but on the stock ROM. Your phone will be just as usable as it is at the moment.
Plus, it means you'll be able to claim a repair on your warranty.
If it's a software issue and you use SEUS..then it should be fixed. It does mean you have to reinstall everything, which is great fun, but at least your phone will work.
The only other thing I could suggest would perhaps be reflashing your ROM.
Which you can't do with CWM because your home key doesn't work..

it seems like it's a hardware problem as the home button DOESNT work in CWM recovery..
is your phone still in warranty?? (i thought warranties were only like for one year..)
btw... do a backup in CWM.. i know ur home key does not work but u can use the 'power' key on top as a substitute in CWM. Backup ur ****, then flash with SEUS and see.. if it still doesn work, get it repaired under ur warranty.
OR
slide out the hardware keyboard and use the "enter" key on it

Ok so thanks for the help but it doesnt mater now as ive figured out it was a hardware issue, the whole fone crashed and wont turn on haha, gona try seus to flash back to stock and then see if i can get it fixed by my provider.

Hi everyone! Im a noob here so I do aplogize if this problem has been solved/mentioned. Well, this is my problem: Ok so my stupid friends took my phone when I wasn't using looking and screwed up my pattern lock so I have to enter my email and password to unlock my phone, right? Well, I was busy so instead I switched off my device and kept it in my pocket. After an hour or so, I felt my phone getting heated up which was weird because it was turned off, so I checked on it and this is what I see: The boot animation was showing up and is stuck at the 'S' logo flashing bit with it vibrating occasionally, the 'menu' and 'back' buttons lights up once in awhile. Oh, and the occasion screen bright up. So i went ahead and tried holding the power button and the same thing happend but this time it lets me in and for a few secs..thn comes out to the boot animation again:crying:... So now I suspect that the lock process has crashed ...any way to fix it? The main thing here is that I need to somehow access the device long enough to copy my stuff to my computer. And of course, fix my well loved phone sorry if my post is very long.....Please help and thanks in advance!!!!!

Your files should be fine. You will lose your app and user data but that's a small price to pay for fixing your phone.
if u can enter to cmwr, then u could make a nandroid back up. this way when u flash up a new rom you could try restoring only data information in advance options in Nandroid back up..
is your phone rooted?? do u have a CMWR???
if not, the only thing u could do is flash a new rom through ODIN.
