Guys , some people are reporting that they are unable to revert to stock rom after flashing custom rom.
If you want to save your phone , then i highly recommend you to make a complete backup before flshing stock rom
go to cwm recovery and select backup/restore then backup (it will make your stock rom backup)
whenever you want to revert , go again to clockworkmod recovery and select restore under, backup/restore option
now last and most important thing to run stock rom ---> flash stock kernel using fastboot method
first grab stock kernel to do that , download your phones stock firmware from here = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10885406#post10885406
using 7zip extract kernel.sin file from .ftf firmware file
connect your phone in fastboot mode and run this command
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
I'm doing it again and again without any problem.. just be sure to flash stock kernel before flashing stock rom.
thanks, i will try this method too
first flash stock kernel , then using flashtool flash firmware , am i right ?
Stock kernel (kernel.sin) is included in the package (of official stock firmware). So everytime you flash an official stock firmware, kernel.sin is also flashed. No need to flash kernel.sin before flashing stock firmware. Correct me if im wrong.
I also think same , i tried that method by noooooob and it worked too

yes you have to unlock boot-loaders first
i recommend to unlock by this method = http://androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/
if you want to install clockwork mod recovery then follow this = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1384200
Install CWM without unlocking bootloader
You don't need to unlock the boot loader to install CWM.
Follow instructions here to root First
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350
Install CWM using this tool

This is how I did it on my Ray
I always considered flashing with Wotanserver to be the best way to go back to stock. It basically takes care of everything. Sure, you'll have to root again afterwards, but that's not exactly very hard.
wotan server is also a good choice

download firmware which you have before installing custom rom, then flash it using flashtool.
I'm attempting to upgrade from 4.0.3 5a (Recovery 3e)
1. Root successfully done with AiO Tool
2. Signed custom_prerooted_doubleFLASH_R5A_nbx03_001-ota-121116036.zip
3. Installed Rescue Backdoor
4. Flash Custom Rom (Signed)
5. Stuck with "assert failed" error as shown in the images here
6. I see this problem discussed here with no clear solution
The AiO Tool says the failure is OK. I'm confused how should i proceed if this failure is expected
Can someone help ?
**UPDATE**
Sony Tablet S once OTA updated to Firmware 4.0.3 5a can be rooted with Condi's AIO Tool (v6.4 onwards) but no ROM cannot be flashed over it as Recovery 3e prevents it. There's no active development interest on XDA for this device so such users are stuck on ICS for good.
Hello guys,
I need a stock rom for flashing via recovery?
I cant use the Flashtool because of loader.sin issue ..
and now I want to flash the stock rom via recovery.
So i have done this before but this time i've ran into mutliple issues, First, I have an unlocked bootloader and I have cyanogenmod recovery but it will say cannot mount /data and installation aborted when i try to install unofficial cm13 which I had before for many months. So I tried to try from step 1 by flashing the stock firmware but current flashtool versio won't detect .42 firmwares and i cant find a v0.3.0.0 that works as i Had before, all the links are broken. And I tried flashing the zip in androxyde flashtool in fastboot, and select kernel to flash and flash the img inside the zip but it only installs the cyanogenmod recovery and boot logo, but as I said, cant install with "apply update, from emulated" due to installation aborted, the only thing that I can do is flash official firmwares other than the original, but only the original can be rooted.Any help is appreciated.
Is it safe to flash the modem.sin only without flashing a whole firmware?
What u want to do?
