[Q] Porting CM 7.1 Connectivity Problems - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've recently been working on porting CM 7.1 from the HTC Desire Z (vision) to the Acer Liquid Metal.
I've had success in booting and hardware acceleration, but the main problem lies in wifi, cell radio and bluetooth.
I just can't get them to work.
I couldn't really extract anything from the logs about cellular or bluetooth but for wifi it said "cannot load wifi driver".
I've had a fiddle with placing the drivers in different places and switching them out, with no avail.
Does anyone have any pointers on how to get connectivity when porting ?
Any help would be appreciated.

no one have any info about getting drivers and what not to work with ports ?

CM7.1 + OpenVPN issues

I managed to partially get OpenVPN working on my Evo Shift with CM 7.1 following the guide on the CM Wiki, however, I have a bit of a problem. So far I've only been able to successfully connect via 3G/4G and in TCP mode only. At first I thought it was a port issue, but changing it to 443 didn't solve anything. Anyone run into this issue and figure out a solution?

[Q] [Help] xperia active WLAN broken, related to flashing?

Hi everybody,
have recently flashed my xperia active st17i from factory 0.69 down to 0.42.
After that, wanted to reinstall my apps and tried to enable wlan to save data rate, but to no avail. WLAN support is broken, phone info does not even show a MAC listed for the wlan interface. Also usb debug log attached shows errors related to the wlan adapter.
I think the firmware ST17i_4.0.2.A.0.42_GenericCE.ftf used was correct one (CRC 99F2E719).
I'm not 100% sure it is related to flashing; might have also broke some time ago (I know it was working when the phone was new, but didn't use WLAN recently).
Is there any wlan radio related part involved in flashing which might need correction?
Also flashed new ICS using SEUS but shows the same effect, no WLAN connection possible (no mac either).
Anybody got a clue?
Any help is appreciated,
ergalm

[Q] Bluetooth issues - cant pair up properly

Evening all I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me sort this little problem I have here. I am trying to pair my phone to my pc which has a small Bluetooth dongle installed in it.
I have windows 7 on the pc and Omega v45 ( 4.2.2 ) yet everytime I try to connect I get various problems. When windowz detects the phone it comes up with an issue locating a driver and just shows Bluetooth peripheral Device driver unknown, ie it can't find it.
I am wanting to run the EVGA Precision app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lt#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImV2Z2EucHJlY2lzaW9uIl0.) and run that from my phone but no matter what I try I can't get my phone and PC to talk to each other.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to fix it please.

USB Tethering greyed out. Kernel Problems?

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone could help?
My device is a HTC Desire 620, single sim (a31lu).
I have managed to install a custom recovery, root, and flash lollipop using Patrik.KT's build (the only available custom ROM for this particular device).
When my phone is on it's stock firmware, (KK 4.4, Sense 6, I believe), USB tethering works flawlessly with my Asus rt56u, and I'm able to share my internet connection.
When I'm on Lollipop, the USB tethering option stays greyed out and it fails to connect. I've tried it on a PC, and it recognises the device, but it then makes the sound as if I have removed the USB cable.
I have tried modifying the build.prop for net.provisioning and the settings for settings.db for tethering_dun_required=0 that are available anywhere on the interweb, to no avail.
Could this be a kernel problem? I've had this happen on an old S3 and a change of kernel was able to resolve the issue, but there are no kernels available for this phone.
Could anyone please help?
Many thanks.
Is anyone able to help at all?
