I managed to partially get OpenVPN working on my Evo Shift with CM 7.1 following the guide on the CM Wiki, however, I have a bit of a problem. So far I've only been able to successfully connect via 3G/4G and in TCP mode only. At first I thought it was a port issue, but changing it to 443 didn't solve anything. Anyone run into this issue and figure out a solution?

Hello,
I've recently been working on porting CM 7.1 from the HTC Desire Z (vision) to the Acer Liquid Metal.
I've had success in booting and hardware acceleration, but the main problem lies in wifi, cell radio and bluetooth.
I just can't get them to work.
I couldn't really extract anything from the logs about cellular or bluetooth but for wifi it said "cannot load wifi driver".
I've had a fiddle with placing the drivers in different places and switching them out, with no avail.
Does anyone have any pointers on how to get connectivity when porting ?
Any help would be appreciated.
no one have any info about getting drivers and what not to work with ports ?
Hi guys. I have a c6833 device flashed with 290 ROM and then recently the gpe ROM.
I used to be able to get my VPN working buy now its just says connecting and them disconnected.
Nothing wrong with my account as i can log in with my other devices.
Any idea what's happening?
Any help would be appreciated...
Im getting the same result with PPTP in the settings app. It says connecting .. Disconnected.
However I usually use OpenVpn and this works fine for me

Thanks for that superuser. I wonder why it behaves this way.
Hmm openvpn is only for their own accounts? How do I add my own VPN account? In either case it isn't very useful for me.
Need to know why VPN doesn't work in GPE ROM.
just in case anyone is following,
I still can't get VPN to work on the Z Ultra flashed with GPE rom, however, I can use VPN Root for PPTP connections.
FYI.
Since I flashed CM11 20140120 on my RAZR i couldn't connect to any WiFi using WPS. Connecting using a passphrase directly seems to work properly. Anyone else have the same issue or know how to fix it?
PS.: I have already tried 'wifical.sh' so far with no success.
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone could help?
My device is a HTC Desire 620, single sim (a31lu).
I have managed to install a custom recovery, root, and flash lollipop using Patrik.KT's build (the only available custom ROM for this particular device).
When my phone is on it's stock firmware, (KK 4.4, Sense 6, I believe), USB tethering works flawlessly with my Asus rt56u, and I'm able to share my internet connection.
When I'm on Lollipop, the USB tethering option stays greyed out and it fails to connect. I've tried it on a PC, and it recognises the device, but it then makes the sound as if I have removed the USB cable.
I have tried modifying the build.prop for net.provisioning and the settings for settings.db for tethering_dun_required=0 that are available anywhere on the interweb, to no avail.
Could this be a kernel problem? I've had this happen on an old S3 and a change of kernel was able to resolve the issue, but there are no kernels available for this phone.
Could anyone please help?
Many thanks.
Is anyone able to help at all?
Hello all,
EDIT (20180902 @ 1230 EDT): So, it must be a driver issue on my desktop machine, as I was able to communicate with the phone using my laptop (the original computer I used to root the phone). If anyone cares to explain anything to me regarding my original post, feel free, but consider the original issue solved. I have other issues that are unresolved though, such as the lack of operational wifi/BT (no MAC address) that I would gladly accept help with.
I'm attempting to turn an old Stratosphere into a portable Kali Linux device, and I thought the first step would be to root it. I followed these instructions: "https://rootzwiki.com/topic/7840-kernel-guide-root-your-stratosphere/" and everything seemed top be fine, however, now I have no MAC address (among other things) so I cannot connect to wifi. Much googling later, still no resolution found.
So, I ended up installing the CWM recovery by following this: "https://rootzwiki.com/topic/11949-recovery-clockworkmod-recovery-v-5027/". I did a heard reset, factory reset, and rebooted. Now, when attempting to flash the stock ROM using Heimdall and running heimdall detect, I get an libusb error -12, and even though Heimdall then reports "device detected", I cannot flash the ROM (get same libusb error).
I'm new to this whole process. I'm not an Android developer, programmer, etc. I consider myself relatively computer-literate. I have a little bit of Linux experience, but I'm currently using Win10 for all of this experimentation. I'm not sure what I've done wrong, or how to fix it. Why did the MAC address disappear? I have no BT either. I always thought the MAC address was a hardware parameter, but I'm assuming that flashing the rooted image is what has caused this issue.
Anyway, the Stratosphere is running Android 2.3.6. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
