So - first off, how important is a screen protector ... next, what do folks think of the Clarivue vs Martin Fields vs Boxwave vs all else on the market? I am trying to figure out what to do here.
Screen Protectors
The best thing to do is to try one out. Take a look at http://www.expertshield.com/expertshield-screen-protector-dopod-imate-qtek-c-22_29.html and you can use the following promotion code to get one to test out at 20% off the regular price.
The code is: 93a82c
Enjoy...
Why not to read existing threads, and continue there?
Hi all!
Are there available in the market replacement plastic covers for the Wizard (Qtek 9100)? I'm talking about replacing plastic parts of the device and not covering or painting them.
ebay...

thanks!...
This is quite good.
I have just received such a case. I bought it from e-bay for 66$ (including post).
My experience changes the case:
- You need the following document! See the final photo of the device after disassembling. You will come very close to this photo if you want to replace your case. Make sure you can handle that!
ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Docs_Tutorials/Wizard_Service_Manual.pdf
- Follow the instructions on this document so that you don't break anything (especially on your new case)
- You definitely need this special screw driver provided by some case vendors. Don't even think about doing the job without this.
- In general, this is a very delicate procedure. It took me two hours to complete, since I was doing this for the first time.
- You will need to remove several small plastic parts from the old case to the new, depending on how complete is the one you buy. For instance in the beginning I didn't transfer the black plastic frame around the screen (not visible from outside) and the touch screen feature was not available. This was due to the plastic parts of the case touching the screen.
- You also need a very tiny cross-headed screwdriver (which was not included in my case) for some screws behind the keyboard.
what's the password for the encrypted file that you wrote the link to???
for the pdf file above??
thanks,
Ivan
The file is not encrypted. It's in a ftp site that requires authentication. Use any ftp client to logon using xda as username and xda as password.
anybody knows if i can use this replacement housing also for the dopod ? Or is the dopod housing also available ?

I just noticed that ZAGG have released an invisibleSHIELD for the Touch Pro 2.
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-touch-pro-2-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
Just wondering if anyone has it and could comment on it.
Also, the TP2 has an existing plastic cover on the battery cover (look around the volume rocker to see it) and I was wondering how the invisibleSHIELD interacts with this. Should we remove the existing one? or is it designed to go over the existing one?
Cheers
I think you'll find that the "shield" built in is actually just part of the back cover. Try and peel it off. It's not going anywhere. Invisible Shield should fit right over it.
i have the invisible shield on mine, and i have to say i'm not impressed. it is probably mainly due to the way i installed it, but it just doesn't seem to fit all that well. the worst area is at the very left and righ of the screen where it meets the chrome area and wraps around. there is a very slight ridge, and no matter how hard i try i can't get rid of the air bubble running along these edges. it is very small, but considering the invisible shield only protects the top half of the chromed area, i think i'm going to get rid of the front part andx replace it with a martin fields screen protector and leave the back invisible shield part on.
Does the invisible shield actually change the way you use the sylus?
Like I have seen phones where you had to press extra hard after installing the protector

Not from the point of view of how hard you have to press, but it does have a "grippy" quality that means the stylus doesn't glide across the screen as easily, and quite often jumps around. Try dragging your finger or stylus across a soft rubber surface and you'll get the idea!
Reading you reaction's this invisible shield doesn't seem all that great...
Looks like it, i use the brando ultra clear, this one is great.. fits perfectly and is very smooth with stylus and finger use!
Ouch~! Can I cancel my order? After reading your comments about it, it really turns me OFF...
Yep, my Zagg should be here anyday now. I have used them before and I'm not to impressed with the rubber feel of it. But I guess you have to sacrifice a good feel and good stylus slide for a scratch free device.
There is nothing I hate more than a scratched up device.

The feel with the martin fields screen protector is supperb. Seriously, i prefer to use the stylus with it. Just one complaint about that, it reduces the bright like 10%. Not a big deal anyways.
So once you apply one of these "shields" ---and suppose you don't like it...can you remove them? What effect does it have on your phone? I have never used a screen protector or a shield, so bare with me on this type of q. Thanks.

Yes they can be removed, and shouldn't leave any kind of residue on the phone. I've always had a screen protector of one kind or another on my phones purely because with te way I use and carry them, they inevitably end up scratched, so I'd rather it was just a cheap bit of plastic that I can easily replace taking the abuse than the screen itself!
If you put the full body protector on correctly, take your time and don't get in a hurry. It will really be worth it, especially for protecting this high dollar of a phone. For me it gives me better grip so the phone wont slide out of your hands, plus you can put it in your pocket with keys and coins and it will still come out scratch free. But the only downfall is the sleek feel of the screen during finger/stylus swipes.
What I did was just applied the back cover portion. I uses the Brando Crystal Clear Screen Protector for the screen only. I have a better grip to the phone and still have the smooth finger swipes on the screen. I can freely leave it on any surfaces in peace of mind knowing that the back of the phone is well protected. But the only downside of it is, the edges of the films will for sure collect dusts and it might turn yellow after few months. I misses the sleek feel of the phone in my hand. I might remove it someday... and let it be scratched, then just buy a back cover to replace it.

I wish I knew this before. I just received mine in the mail today and installed it. It feels to be somewhat not as thick and grippy as the one I installed on one of my other devices about 8 months ago. Or maybe its just me, either way it doesn't feel bad and the front screen isn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Maybe their making the invisible shield with a better feel with the same great protection.
But I know one thing hasn't changed. They are still a pain in the butt to put on correctly.
My shield should arrive in 2-3 days...i'll get back to you guys when I've put it on the device....

Hi
I think 3M brand in kind of nice.
Their product quality is fine without a doubt (for me).
I found this youtube clip about 3M privacy film for BB.
I wonder that may be they will make one that fit TP2 as well?
Anybody in US spotted one of 3M Privacy Film for TP2 ???
PLEASE PM !!!
Here's the clip.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULBuOh3no8Q
I think it's very useful because the TP2 screen is BIG. It some situation we might want some privacy.
The one I found in eBay look kind of cheap. I prefer 3M if they made one. lol~
Wouldnt you have trouble reading anything while the phone is tilted.....as in the keyboard slided out for message typing or video etc. With the Privacy film you are sacrificing the tilted view, this wont be an issue unless you own a smart phone that actually offers the tilt (that too exactly to the opposite direction). Think about it.....

+1 I totally forgot about it!
But when you tilted, it still in the eyes sight level right?...Anyway, this probably be a bad idea. But if someone willing to try don't forget to let me know the result.
Cheers
If you are still interested in trying the privacy filter, they have them at the T-Mobile stores. It would most likely block the screen when you rotate it but they may let you open the package and try it out before purchasing.
