[Q] Motorola Atrix NOT 4G - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've noticed (who wouldn't) that American users flooded the internet with a lot of ambiguous articles about Motorola Atrix when in truth is about Motorola Atrix 4G...
What is what...
Well, the thing is, I've just bought an operator free, or unlocked Motorola Atrix (nope Motorola Atrix is NOT Motorola Atrix 4G...) the Breat Britain version and I'm trying to find the correct rooting guide... Well, let me tell you: It is not an easy job!
This question is, will be or was the same that many have (will have or had): Where can we find Motorola Atrix (NOT 4G) guides ?
I'm lost in all threads about Motorola Atrix 4G... Then some users call it just Atrix, when it is Atrix 4G... Then its all about AT&T locked devices... Come one, no one buys unlocked phones anymore ?!
I need air... And help please!!!
Best regards,
Tiago.

What your talking about is the same phone ita just called atrix 4g on the att network. Its the same phone european motorola atrix unlocked says 3g network hspda which is what att is calling there 4g

Anyway, enough about her. I believe that you have got your answer from the above poster.
Have a good day Stacey.

LOLz You're right I was just very upset... (or disappointed with myself)

OK, now without *****ing...
I've seen many users warning about hard brick on Spanish and Chinese devices, since my device is the GB version, what should I consider using ?
E.g. If I find tutorials about something for this phone, but with options like:
AT&T, International, Spanish and Chinese
I would, by logic, go to the International option, because my phone is unlocked from factory right?
I'm just following an advice from a ROM cooker about how it is better to ask before brick the damn thing.
Again, sorry for being... weird...
Best regards,
Tiago.

Your phone is not from the USA. therefore you me and the entire rest of the world has an "international" device. Follow any of those guides and you will be fine

Motorola unlocking all bootloaders near future???

http://modmymobile.com/forums/459-a...torola-agrees-unlocked-bootloaders-catch.html
So motorola has agreed to unlock the bootloaders on seemingly all their phones? Only catch is its up to the carrier to decide? Lets just hope AT&T won't be bastards on this issue!
Edit: Could a mod please move this to atrix general I put this in the wrong area.
So that's like what... a stalemate?
Ok... so now we get to wait another 6 months before they actually do..... Motorola lies too much to the point where its hard to believe them.

If AT&T said no, in theory couldnt one just flash a Bell/Telsa bootloader on an AT&T Atrix?

[Q] Unlocking Fascinate

Can someone help me on whats the guide to unlock the phone and use it on different carrier, if possible. Does rooting the phone will unlock it or its just one step to it. I am new to this. Thankz
I was mean but I decided to edit and be nice...
The fascinate is a CDMA phone, and can only be flashed to Cricket to my knowledge.
It cannot be flashed to Sprint, AT&T, or T-mobile. Not possible.
Please search the forums before posting something like this.... It gets annoying to frequent isers answering the same questions all the time.
Also, watch this.
Let the flaming begin....
I think i peed a little in my pants laughing at the video!
Well Done sir!
Holy sheet that was funny!
It can be flashed to Boost Mobile also, if you want to go pre-paid.
If you want guides and how-to's use google...it's your friend

Droid X2 Among others to get ICS

This my be already posted but I haven't seen it on here yet. (this is my first post and I'm realllllly scared lol)
Motorola has released an updated list of their devices scheduled for Android 4.0! And finally, we have some confirmation that us X2 owners will get a taste of that delicious ICS. Moto hasn't really laid out the details yet, but atleast we know they're thinking about us! I found the article on Androidpolice.com. Since I'm a newbie, I can't post a link to it but just go to the website and search Motorola and it's second from the top!
Sidenote: Thank you all for sharing your knowledge! You guys make me feel like I actually know what I'm doing!
****EDIT****
Y'all already know I got a little excited when I first posted this... I am sorry for making it sound like "Hey we are definitely getting ICS!" I saw that the X2 was still in the "Evaluation and Planning" phase of development and truth is it could go either way! So thank you for not destroying this freshie and sharing your knowledge!
Droid X2 w/CM7 and lovin' it.
Would that include us Milestone owners? They're essentially the same device. If so.....YAY!

As I understand it, the Milestone 3 is on the list!
I wouldn't put too much weight on the word of a company that said they'd give us unlocked bootloaders by the end of 11'.

ummm on the website it says in evaluation that means they are seeing if it works good this is NOT a certainty do NOT get your hopes up. Moto has effed us over before :/
Motorola can kiss my rump. I'm getting ready to order a Galaxy Nexus as my main phone. Droid x2 is a great phone but its just too locked down for me. I miss having a working rom manager. I'm a flash addict and miss being able to flash without being plugged into the charger.

Theve lied to us before....

My bet is that "under evaluation" is their way of saying no, while stringing us along..

Like I said in the other topic they best keep updating us at least onto more 2.3.? . This thing is still full of problems especially audio.

Thanks for the post, however, this does not guarantee that ics is coming to the Droid. Notice it is in the planning and evaluation mode. Note how other phones are listed at getting ics in the 3rd quarter of 2012.
I wouldn't hold your breath.
People, I understand how companies have to plan for releases. Believe me, I know as I am an architect and developer for a major utility company. What I expect from Motorola are constant updates, not some vague posting that sits there for months with NO updates what-so-ever. Kind of like how we were promised to have unlocked bootloaders by the 4th quarter of 2011 and it never happened. Motorola NEVER gave an update as to why this was nor if they were going to do it at a later date. Instead, dead silence and then the release of the Droid RAZR Developer Edition which costs $100 more than the MSP and no guarantee that it would be released by Verizon or other carriers. In fact, it's not schedule for release in the US for some time, which could turn out to be never.
So, don't take this update from Motorola sitting down. We MUST continue to hound them, tactfully, to release ICS for the X2 and other Motorola phones that are more than capable of running it. In addition, they MUST be made to come through on their promise to unlock the bootloader. Remember, do it with tact. As I've stated in another post, I've already filed my BBB complaint to Motorola which has been accepted by the BBB and forwarded on to Motorola, so the ball is in their court now. I suggest everyone else does the same. The more complaints, the more likely they respond, hopefully with a gesture that meets our wants and needs.

Motorola Electrify M - US Cellular - Bootloader Unlockable

Although its the Photon forum, I know a lot of US Cellular Electrify users frequent here. Just for anyone's info the Electrify M will be one of Motorola's unlock-able devices.
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/87215
Even better, its sold at a "standard", subsidised price instead of a "developer" price.
So what.
Look at the Photon Q forums, it was shipped with unlockable bootloader and its pretty much no development for it.

Just throwing some info out there. With all the "picketing" against Motorola, I thought it was nice to see a little "light at the end of the tunnel."

I dont think very many have sold. I wouldnt be suprised if photon Q total sales are a small percentage of the original photon.
yes
I have the Electrify M... I got the boot loader unlock code from motorola... but there is very little if any support for it from the community
Plzz can I flash my mopho 4g with electrify sbf, un-brick sbf and then unlock the bootloader? It will be running the electrify rom right??? Plz help, I'm still stuck with photon 4g
