Try removing the battery, re-insert the battery, old volume down button while pressing and holding the power button. This should take you to the bootloader screen.
Also make sure "fastboot" is unchecked in the power settings
if "fastboot" is disabled, you will be able to power off, then get to HBOOT by booting with volume down key pressed... If you want to leave fastboot enabled, reboot the device from Android, as soon as the OS starts shutting down, just hold the volume key.

did you flash something before? how did u end up in this situation?
If you're getting the phone and box symbol.. that doesn't generally mean it's bricked.
What did you flash to get into this situation?
Try holding down your volume-down key, then turning on power.
See if you get into HBOOT mode (white background with text on it, and maybe a background picture of an 'android'.)
Let us know, as this sounds fixable!

To get in hboot (spl) you have to keep back button pressed, not volume down
If your spl is working just flash original htc update

what (where) is back button !?
It is on front of handset, bottom right button with an arrow pointing from right to left.
Press and hold it, then tap power (the button above it), and see if anything happens.
FWIW, Vol. down + Power is something different used to flash the phone, so see if you can enter SPL, as that will do also.

You need to force it into FastBoot mode i believe. This can be done easily by the following:
1. Turn off the phone and wait 5 seconds.
2. connect the USB cable while pressing the VOL + key (Volume Up)
3. Keep pressing till the LED light turns blue.
4. Follow the steps of the tutorial. There are plenty out there. Google it. One such thread in XDA is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527159
Also, you can find a Video Tutorial in the sticky section of this thread. The link is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897826
Hope this helps.
EDIT: Also make sure this is an unlocked phone. Refer the Xperia U Development thread for more info.
Hi All.
I might be missing the obvious here but how do you get into recovery on these things?
I've read loads of posts and tried various combinations with Vol+/- and Power, Wait for the light then do the same..... Nothing!!
I've put root on it it but left the bootloader looked. The device says I can unlock it if I want. It's the 16GB Wifi model (UK)
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?
Thanks

Maybe you;re mixing the fastboot method and cwm method on your head..
if you're question is how will you get to recovery then my answer is VOL UP.
power on your xtz and when the "SONY" shows up simply spam the vol up and you're good :good:

Thanks for the reply. If I'm reading what you put right, it's:
Hold Vol up
Press Power
Wait for Sony logo then ? Not sure what you meant by "when the "SONY" shows up simply spam the vol up"
Thanks

Haha, Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
I'm laughing because I still haven't got a clue what SPAM VOLUME means so I'm going to go for HOLD VOLUME.

LOL, I even ended up on the Urban Dictionary... I'm thinking..Oh no, it's one of those young people phrases again!!
Thanks again for the help though, I'll get that dual recovery installed I think. I'm not even planning on flashing it. I just want a good backup.
Hello Zach181,
have succeeded in holding the vol up ?
I have the same trouble and can't access the recovery mode.
press power on
wait for the sony logo to appear
hold the vol up button
but nothing happens, it boots in the normal way.
thanks
Let's try to make it clear.
The device does not come from factory with any button combination that can get you into any recovery.
You need to flash a custom recovery first.
The process for "XZDualRecovery" is to wait a second after the sony logo appears and then when the notification light turns green hold Volume Up for CWM, Volume Down for TWRP.
Might be different for other recoveries, but at least try this method.
Let me clear it too...
its NOT HOLD
but SPAM or KEEP PRESSING
:good::good::good:

What works for me is HOLD the correct volume button, but not from the start, but from the time the LED turns green.

I must admit that I have put it in fastboot but only if holding from the power on and not pressing repeatedly. I've been too engrossed with my new toy to try much but I will sort recovery today.
So what we are saying is...
No recovery Installed
Power and hold Vol up = Fastboot
Recovery Installed
Power (Wait for light) Vol up = CWM ---- Vol Down = The other one (Forgot the name)
That still leaves us with fastboot mode with recovery. Would that be as I said at the beginning of this post... Power on and hold Vol Up straight away (Don't wait for the light)
.
Following different tutorials on how to root my device, they all begin with instructing me to enter "download mode." They all seem to say that I need to press Power+Volume Down+Home and, when the warning screen appears, press Volume Up. Well, I hold down Power+Volume Down+Home (I check a video to make extra sure I was holding down the correct buttons) and all that the device ever does is continually display the initial splash screen, the reboot again. If I let go, the device goes into "manual mode" in which it prompts to reboot, update the device or factory reset it. Am I missing something?
Sorry, I looked at a few articles and could not find a solution.

Such an ass. Was able to root from there. Thanks all!
Hi Guys,
anyone know if there is a reset button/battery pull simulation button on Redmi 3?, just wondering what to do if on the worst day i need to do some kind of battery pull when the OS crashes/bootloop.
Power on + Volume up. When screen on release both then press multiple times volume up button. Enter than you will know how to do!
Blue button / line = shutdown

Just Press "Download" to start flash with MiFlash or do something more with English by press the title next to "Download"
For crashes, press power button 10+ seconds and it reboots. (Works in every ARM Android device i've tested.)
EDIT: I lost all my data since the phone was encrypted, but I recovered it flashing in fastboot mode
My Redmi 3 pro is stuck in a bootloader after trying to root it for the first time.
power off doesn't do anything.
power and volume up doesn't do anything
power and volume down shows a Fastboot logo with a cartoon, but I don't know what to do here and if it is useful.
After 1-2 minutes in fastboot logo it starts again in bootloop.
I think soon the battery will drain and the phone switch off
I really don't know what to do

Yeah, thank you.
I eventually managed to force shut down the device holding power and volum up, down the three togheter for long time.
Then I flashed Miu again and rooted.
Now I can't manage to encrypt, so still not satisfied
