[Q] can't reinstall Nuance voice control - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi
Can anybody suggest how to reinstall Nuance Voice that came with stock LG P500 ROM control on custom ROM (void-forever for example)?
I tried
1) copying VSuiteApp.apk to \system\app reboot - does not help.
2) Backup and restore on a new ROM using Titanum Backup
it installs but crashes when run.
Nuance voice recognition works much better then Google based and
is used in Siri.
Is there a new version?
The one came with P500 was 4.0.15 and was developed in 2010.

Are permissions set to the rest of /system/app files, they all have to match.. by copying you do mean adb push right

Stock calendar in MiniCM7 Pro

Hi everybody.
I use paul-xxx 's MiniCM7 Pro - V20-Final and was wondering if it is possible to use the stock 2.1 calendar.
I cannot use android calendar because of the need to sign in in a Google account, as i don't have one and don't want to create one.
I liked the stock apk cause it is simple and just wanna see the date without having to sync with internet.
SEMCCalendar and other calendar associated applications are not working with MiniCM7 Pro...
Thanx in advance

normally what i do is if i want a app from older ROMS i save the apk of that app on to my SDcard and use App installer to install it (normally it works)
if that doesnt work i try copying the .apk file to where the other app is stored
e.g if i want messaging app, i copy it and paste it in system/app/Mms.apk using file managers like root explorer, astro file manager etc...
because theres where the Mms.apk is stored
to see change reboot your phone

Yes i understood what you said m8 and have done all those things before but nothing happens.
It seems like it's more complicated, it's like the stock SE calendar apks are not compatible with the rom.
As far as i'm concerned for the stock calendar to work in stock 2.1 rom are required 3 apks placed in system/apps:
-CalendarProvider.apk
-SemcCalendar.apk
-SemcCalendarVanillaApi.apk
I put them in system's apps, i change the permissions to rw-r--r-- and then reboot. The only thing is the calendar's icon that appears but if you press it error appears, meaning the app cannot be run.

Replaced/added some .apk's and they don't work?

I am using the dsixda kitchen to build ROMs for my Desire HD. I have built a few ROMs now and on the whole they have worked OK. However there area few apps that are out of date and a few I would like by default. I know I can download the majority of them from the market but I would like them just there by default. I know apps get updated all the time so I will never get perfection so bear with me.
I have sucessfully added ASTRO, HandyCalc, ROM Manager SMS Backup & Restore and VISIONary+ and these work fine. I have also updated the .apk's for Facebook to 1.8.1, Google Maps to 6.0.3, Twitter to 3.0.0, YouTube to 2.3.4 & GMail to 2.3.5.2.
Now heres my problem - If I try to update Adobe Reader to 10.1.1 by replacing the AdobeReader.apk with the latest one it doesn't work. Once the ROM is built and installed I can see the .apk is there in /system/app however there is no icon in All Apps for Adobe Reader and I can't open .pdf's.
I also use Google Goggles & Skype, however if I add these .apk's to the ROM they appear to be installed and start OK however Goggles crashes as soon as the camera is started from the app and Skype lets you run through the initial setup but then says the app needs reinstalling.
Is there something I am missing or are there apps that can't be updated and others that can't be included in ROMs?

My guess is your using these apps in /system/app? If so keep in mind that most apps are built for /data/App. Sometimes applications act funny on system. If they are not on the system and on the data then that's just strange.

I was looking into that but I thought you needed extra script commands to get these recognised during 1st-time boot? At the moment I have these apps installed via the market, however I can't find where they are on the phone - I am using Astro to view/search and can't find the updated Adobe Reader, however it is installed.
I think I might be missing some fundamental stuff here...

/data/app
/data/app-private
Then you can also check and see if installed to the sdcard maybe?
/data is empty. On the sdcard there is an 'Android' folder and in here is a /data folder that has other folders (com.android.providers.media, com.facebook.katana, com.google.android.apps.books, com.google.android.apps.maps).
I have enabled hidden files in Astro (but it could be a limitation of Astro?). Astro has an application backup option that allows me to backup any of these added applications into .apk files and then restore them later.

/data shows empty when you try and view it with astro...
Root Explorer (and some others I'm sure) will show everything in there...

Thanks Going to be rebuilding shortly
I found this post whilst searching - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654739#
In there FireSokar mentions adding some lines to the update script. For the Desire HD it is an updater-script and the format/syntax is different can someone tell me what I need to add to the updater-script and where it should be put (at the very end, somewhere in the middle etc?)
Thanks

Where to find apk packages for the standard ics and gingerbread app?

I have recently changed my rom over to Cynogen mod tablet/hybrid and dislike most of the apps that replace the standard "messenger" "contacts" They are using google contacts and i tried a few different messenger apps like go sms ect but hate them equally. I have tried to backup and restore them with rom toolbox pro but cant seem to get them working. I was trying to find the apk files for them on source forge and any thread off xda but am unable to track them down. Does anyone know where to find them? Or is it possible to pull the files from a directory located on the phone?

You can download any rom you like and unzip or un-tar (use 7zip on your pc). Then go to the /system/app folder and see all the apk's there.
Stock contacts won't work on CM9 as the stock apps use the touchwiz framework.

[Q] Problem installing keyboard

Greetings all
I'm hoping that someone out there knows what is going on with the keyboard installer. My phone is running SnowJB ROM, but I really don't like the stock Android keyboard and want to reinstall the LG keyboard. I have the APK file from the stock AT&T image, but I can't load them onto the system. The files disappear if I try to simply copy/paste into the /system/app directory, and I just get a generic "installation failed" if I try to install as an APK. And yes, I do have unauthorized sources enabled. So at this point, I'm at a loss. Has anyone been able to successfully install the stock LG keyboard? Or any idea what is blocking me from doing so?
Thanks.
Me to i tried installing with apk says application not installed and then i moved it to system/app changed permissions to rw-r-r and restarted but it just said lg keyboard has stopped. So if anybody knows that would be great. Nobodys responding though
