[q] sgs ii bvkg8 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I want to remove simlock from my Galaxy SII but in order to do that i need to root my phone. The problem is that i can't find insecure kernel for my version which is BVKG8 (2.3.3.). What can I do now?
Would it be possible to change my software to android 2.3.5. (XXKI4) and then root it and remove the s-lock?

Flash an Insecure XWKDD kernel. Most traditional method.
Then follow this:

[Q] Insecure Kernels not listed

Hi there,
Im new here, and got a bit confused with rooting GS2...
I've already had an GS and rooted easily, and recetly bought GS2.
Reading the forum, i've found about the Kernels to use for rooting.
My version is UHKI1 (Brazil) with Gingerbread 2.3.4.
Model: GT-I9100
Android Version: 2.3.4 Gingerbread
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100UHKI1
I didnt found the insecure kernel for this model on this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101671&page=35)
The point is, how can i root my phone without the insecure kernel?
And if i can help, how can i send my version so this version can have an isecure kernel.
Thks!
Danilo
If you're just wanting root, [10/Nov][ROOTING/UNROOTING] Xperia 2011 Easy Rooting Toolkit [v2.0](zergRush Exploit).

Not sure what you mean
If you want to debrand then flash any ics firmware like XXLPQ
And if you want to unlock sim then use Galaxy S unlock app

Hi, Need help with finding insecure kernel

I have a Samsung Galaxy SII
baseband version: i9100BOKJ1
Kernel version: BOKK1 stock
Is it possible if i flash the BOKG2 stock, then flash again to Insecure 'BOKG2'
I know how to root Samsung Galaxy S2 phone i have Done previously but i need help finding the 'BOKK1' Insecure kernel.
I appreciate if anyone could help
Thanks
we also dont....like you searched and dont find,
donno why both stock and insecure not available for this version, may be not leaked..that is why CF-root not available...
go for another stock ROM to flash from ODIN for which CF-root available for rooting, both links are on my signature.

[Q] any old kernel?

hi to all from a very wet north wales.
we have a problem. just bought a galaxy s2 and wanted to root it so that we can unlock it and then change network provider.
we followed the instructions found elsewhere on this site but the phone does not reboot after using odin3.
could this be because we accidentally tried to load up the wrong kernel? we have tried to locate a copy of the correct one but cannot find one. Should/could a generic kernel work and if so could someone please indicate where to find it
details:
galaxy s 2 gt 19100
original kernal version 3.0.15-19100 XWLET
ANDROID VERSION 4.0.4
odin3 version 1.85
superoneclick vers 2.2
failed kernel was XWKDD
ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY GRATEFULLY RECEIVED

You flashed a gingerbread kernel over ICS! Don't just follow any tutorial you find on net. If you break your phone, they can't help you.
Download Siyah kernel :www.gokhanmoral.com/public/files/siyahkernel/v4/Siyah-s2-v4.1.5.tar
Flash the kernel via Odin.

Galaxy S2 I9100P Root 4.0.3

Hi all,
Im trying to root my sisters S2. Ive read alot of guides and ive rooted several S3's no problem. The guides are all saying to flash CF Kernel with file name same as kernel (I9100PBVLPC) which I cannot see unless ive gone blind through all the reading lol.
Could I just flash the latest PhilZ kernel using Odin? the phone is stock 4.0.3, sim-locked.
Thanks in advance
Nobody help me with this?
