but how??do i need the 2.3.4 kpb or any 2.3.? kpb??

No. But if you do get connectivity problems you might wanna try switching basebands.

i would suggest to you to try both..
you can flash them via cwm..
you can jump between this two if you choose the right one that suits you..hehe

ive tried both roms
i couldnt find any noticable difference between the two in terms of usage and performance

I prefer the KANG CM7 Rom just because it has the 16 bit transparency, the scrolling gets smoother with this option enabled.

I already have BehradGH's CM7,is it safe to flash cooper KANG?
I mean in the instructions,it said that you need 2.3.4,While CyanoAce is having 2.3.7.

I think you can flash directly but make first wipe cache and dalvik cache. If you get bootloop make wipe data/factory reset too.

[Q] My defy

Hi All
I have Tmobile moto Defy mb525, I tried to get rid of the tmobile logo, I used superoneclick and it works fine, super user then rom manager but i did not find moto defy so i used system recovery, i tried to update it form zip file but the device hangs, after many tries the phone dies, now i installed another tmobile rom and it works again
and this is the new infos, the question can i install any other roms or tmobile rom is my destiny?
Yes, you can. Just update to 3.4.2-155 for Barebones, Xd1, JBoogie3 LiquidArc/BluelessGinger or 3.4.3-11 for Pays 5.1.
But i don't know if you can go back to stock 2.1, if you already has flashed a full SBF.
Thanks for your help, no prb if I cannot downgrade it

Wich one do you use/prefer. I flashed Barebones, Pays and xd1. So far my favorite is xd1.
Flashed JBoogie's BlurGinger today (based on Froyo Korea), and it's ****ing awesome! Even with blur, it's the most amazing rom i have ever seen. But i flashed today, then my I can be wrong
Will use it this week and see...
talking about best ROM..
which one currently the best so far..
1. performance
2. battery life
3. outlook
im using CM7 Beta 6 just 2nd day today.( my 1st custom ROM on Defy)
cant say anything about battery life yet..
but so far it feel faster than stock defy
I use MIUI and it`s really amazing ROM to use battery life is good than CM7 according to me....

Rite now ur on which ROM?
MIUI has too much BUGs right now, CM7 is the best ROM for Defy.
BUT, with time, i think MIUI can be the most used, since they do a great job modding, theming, and developing their own apps.
CM7 has bugs regarding wifi and brightness. I'm currently on 177-005 nordic with Defy Cool&Clean MOD by trinacre, and I must say it's quite fast and stable. Scored a 1250 on Quadrant.

[Q] Wanting to jump from CM7 to MIUI

I've been tinkering with CM7 for the last several days, and while I like a lot of the features, I am also rather displeased with it. I've been looking into MIUI and it looks like a very interesting ROM, but I have some questions and concerns about jumping to it. Firstly, is the in call volume better than that of CM7? Secondly, is the deep sleep/lock issue that prevents calls going through, that big of a hassle given the fix of the softlocker app? Finally, would I be able to jump from CM7 to MIUI, if I did a dalvik, data, wipe etc? Thanks again for any help!
I didn't even wipe data when I did the switch, just dalvik/cache wipe, install.
I don't have any complaints from MIUI, my in call volume has been fine, through the headset, and through BT. No missed calls so far. Was using the EC09 modem, currently testing the ED05 modem.
I'm running the Glitch kernel.
I did a full wipe to be ensure any problems I had were not from wiping. MIUI has very few bugs in my experience. The call volume is good with the included kernel but I installed Volume+ from the market which seems to help. Very happy with it so far.
i also want to switch..
wat are the precautions?
and wat is the best miui stable version?where can i get it??

6.6.1 is experimental and is not stable but you can try it.

you might want to stick with v6.5.7 with franco's v19 kernel. If you want something stable for now.

yes, you should be able to use gprs on miks rom both v6.6.1 and v6.5.7. See the channel logs for this rom on the 3rd post. As far as I know, data and gprs will not be available if you have the new baseband installed (v20 something) since the roms are for v10.

1. you can't get the old baseband back if you are already on v20.
2. it is not built in on any ROM, it is flashed via update on the PC
3. You can opt to do so... usually yields good results when flashing a modified kernel over the original one given by the ROM's creator (i.e. mik's CM7 uses franco's v18 in one of his builds which could be updated to v19 and the experimental build uses franco's gingerbread kernel.)
Quoted from Mik:
Q: I flashed rom and GSM don't works. What's to do?
Q: I have new baseband, how fix gsm? (you have new baseband if you upgraded your phone to official 2.3.3)
A: Flash this: gsm fix (support for new baseband, this is not baseband itself).
WARNING: Data don't works, wait for new fix.

yup it doesn't make sense... you can switch to mik's, you should not have the new baseband. You are already using ROMs that are using the v10 baseband, you don't need to worry about anything else.
Read the first few posts of the ROMs threads to understand what the roms are and what you need to do before flashing them.. again... READ... can't stress this enough since I myself am getting sluggish at it.

Who knows... These people flash random 5 ROMs a day, stock Froyo, then custom GB, then stock GB, CM7 and in the end they go complain about no data, blaming the ROM.
As said on the howto, the LGMDP utility will always tell you which baseband you have (v10?/v20?)

Paranoid Android has more UI choices from normal to hybrid. Really good and stable ROM. Cyanogen will are the main source. You have any problems its them that fix it not Paranoid. I'm on Cyanogen now. Was on Paranoid and enjoyed it. I'd rather stability than anything else.

This one I did not closed because the OP is asking about a comparison between two specific roms not asking a general "which rom is best". I feel this thread is ok and tolerable. lol
only thing i dont like about cyanogen is that you cant have a brightness slider, i use paranoid but a recommendation i could make is install the latest siyah kernel then run one as a first rom and the other as second rom and give them both a try i do it for omega stock touchwiz and pa very useful :3

How do you mean by "run as first rom and the other as second"?
He means dual boot, see siyah kernel thread. But quite odd to dual boot with two non Sammy (or 2 Sammy) roms
More logical to use paranoid as it's cm based with more features.
Newb question here:
But, what's the difference between CM10 and Paranoid Android?
Since Paranoid Android is built on CM10 - wont it just have a few extra features? (Hybrid mode looks cool imo.)

Don't you think hybrid is a big difference ? Just flash and compare, no one will be able to choose for you. Ten minutes work, restore is easy with nandroid, you could even try without data wipe as it's same base. But CM10 bugs ==> Paranoid.
I look at the voting poll and it's pretty close. Right now I'm running CM10. I must to say that the battery life rocks. The only thing that I don't like that much is the Contacts feature, a lot of stuffs are missing. Ow and also I can't find Power Saving mode in Settings?

The latest Syiah Kernel allows you to dual boot your phone. So you can have two different roms installed.
I use CM10 because it has faster/more frequent updates. (Usually every night hence "nightly") (could be a good or bad thing though... I feel like I have to flash something on my phone every day. Flashing is sooo addicting lol.)
PA is based on CM10 and will have to wait for CM10 to release its update before it too updates. The PA team is also quick to update when it happens though.
But PA has added features to CM10 that some people may or may not like. Hybrid mode and enabling/disabling hard/soft keys are one of top features that comes to mind.
Dude, first of all.. you CAN'T let other people decide on what you "want"
You just have to try it for yourself..

I'm trying out right now the CM10. Very awesome! I will give a try to PA also.
Just wanted to know which was more stable ..
This is a little off the Paranoid and CM10 but what I tried was this...
Downloaded Omega v29 & Omega v2.0 and dropped into SD Card,
Formatted my Internal Memory, (like completely formatted),
Flashed Omega v29, once done, set it up, and there is S Teaks in the App Drawer, open it up and go across to Dualboot and click the ''Reboot into 2ndROM Utils''
Down the bottom there is dual-boot options, go into that, Format 2md Rom system, Wipe 2nd Rom data/cache and wipe dalvik-cache, and fix permissions, then install zip to from External SD (where you put the omega v2.0 file, and flash that. And the rest is as is comes.
It will reboot and you have a choice to click the home button to go to your 2nd rom or click anything else to go to 1st Rom.
Worth it, due to both those Omegas are different UI, I got Omega v29 for Gaming and 2.0 for sexy show off looks.
i used PA before im on CM10.1 based rom,
PA - i like the phablet mode etc but it has no statusbar transparency
CM - i love the speed, themes and the softbutton below its like a built in. battery and performance are great.
i dont know which is better since i used the same kernel with that 2 cusrom marmite kernel

[Q] Change screen colors on CM 10.2

Hey, first of all thanks alot for all the development and crazy amount of information going on in here
I have searched but unfortunately I couldn't find a solution to my problem so I'm asking here. I recently installed official Cyanogenmod 10.2 stable release on my i9300 international S3 (since CM11 gave me some bugs) and it's pretty great so far, but I've been searching a way to change the color settings of the screen. On CM there are some built in ones but I don't really like those. On the 4.3 Stock Samsung ROM there was "Professional Photo" or something like that that I did like. Does anyone know what I can do? If I understood correctly kernels can do that sort of stuff but I didn't find a kernel to suit my needs.
Thanks in advance

Yes you understood it correctly If your Planning to run a ROM based on CM Screen modes like Dynamic, Professional Photo etc Are available only through custom Kernel.
In Sammy as v all know you can change it under settings but for CM unfortunately you have to stick to Kernel Settings to do that.
Almost All popular Kernels Have that option under Screen>MDNIE mode
All you have to do is select the right kernel
Unfortunatly You asked a Question in this Thread and Also Gave an answer for the same.
Just remeber that for CM ul have to stick to some Externel Kernel as these options wont be available with stock CM 10.2 Kernel as well
Just as a recommendation give GoogyMax , Boeffla, Agni a try as these gave me really good results(Special Thx to Dev's of the same )

I've looked into GoogyMax and Boeffla but as far as I could tell they don't support color changing. If I do install them what can I do to change the colors?
And I have yet to install a kernel, does it come in a zip file that I can install in CWM?

Thanks again
Another question, say I install the kernel and I want to update to CM11 or flash a Samsung based ROM. I need to first flash a new kernel and then install the ROM? Where can I download the stock CM kernel?

I also opened this thread if you think you can help me

I'm really frustrated because I like vanilla android and CM is just so much faster than TouchWiz (I'm no won Android Revolution HD 40.0), I switched just because of the GPS issue but I really don't want it as my daily driver.. Maybe a different AOSP based ROM you know that the GPS would work in?

Strange To hear that. Well ive never used Stock CM so cant Comment on that GPS issue.
As Far As Now the AOSP or AOKP Roms ive used have never Had this GPS issue. You Can Try Anyone From Below Thread (CM 10.2/1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/10-04-index-roms-t2218825
For me i would have chosen between PACMAN PARANOID n SLIMBEAN . All are great for Daily use
Also Check out This ROM. MY personal favourite Amongst All. Bug Free and Stable , Archidroid but its KK
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-archidroid-v2-3-3-power-hands-t2354859
Yes CM is definately Smoother than TouchWIz( Thx to Free RAM ). But Try out the ArchiDroid Stock Sammy ROM. You Might Like it for its smoothness
Rom recommendations are not allowed on xda. You have to try out and search for which rom suits u the best same goes with kernels
