The video app that is packaged with CM7 doesn't display the videos saved on my SD card. I also tried iMediaShare and I had the same problem. Is there an option or an app that will do a scan of the SD card for videos?

MX Video Player works the best for me.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the input.
Edit: It works fine to find my videos but still doesn't help with getting them to show in other apps.

Maybe they're on a not supported and weird format?
Yeah I was Googling a bit and saw something about native formats. Looks like I have to convert my videos if I want to use them.

Is there a way to watch or download movies on samsung vibrant? Please help
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Samsung media hub, or if you have movies on your CPU you can put them on your micro SD. This question belongs in Q&A for future reference
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Swarm. Its a great torrent app that let's you download directly to your phone. Its a paid app but well worth it.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Ok... Im still kina new @ this but where can I find the samsung media hub or the swarm app?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Swarm is in the android market on your phone, Media Hub is a app thats preinstalled on your phone, you should have it.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Ok yes I do have the media hub.. Now, is the swarm easy to use as far as finding movies?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

Go to www.knowyourcell.com and look for Tmobile/Samsung Vibrant and it tells you all you need to know about how to format your movies to fit your phone, and also a bunch of other stuff.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
just use swarm its the best for downloading movies right to the phone. only problem is that when downloading everything else on ur phone is very slow even texting takes a while
Go to icefilms.info and you can download all your favorite TV shows and download movies. Download only works for me over wifi and Skyfire browser.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
does skyfire allow increased download sizes? and is that why you can download movies straight to the phone on reg. network?
Try dvd fab its a dvd convertor I use it to convert dvds to mp4 or avi then rip it to ur phone memory works awesome and its free
Lovin my vibrant
I checked out ice films. It says you have to have divx. But the divx download isnt supported on the vibrant. How do you work around that?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Use swarm, and Google iPod movies/shows. You will find a ton of stuff.

What are the specs when converting a movie to the Fascinate. I googled some sites and put in the specs and but when I go to play the video I hear the audio but no video. Some sites were saying you can go up to 800x480 and the source i have is bigger than that so I went with the 800x480...but it's a no go. Any idea on what all the specs are to convert over?
This phone usually requires no conversion.. What type of file is it and what codec?
Sent from my Rocking dj05, themed superdark w/o swype mod, voodoo 5, with custom boot and shutdown.. With premium xda app.
Like the guy above me said,Samsung included a ton of movie codecs that are otherwise unsupported on normal Android devices, so most of the time conversion is not needed.
So most of us never have to worry or know much about converting to the Fascinate....

SC2.8 WP7 Revolution
What app are u using to play the movie?
The one with MIUI.
Sent from my Fascinating MIUI.
Let me give you a good hint, use vuze. Www.vuze.com, and connect your fascinate in storage mode. Then just drop any video, it will convert it and copy it to the fascinate automatically, very cool and easy

I got my S3 today.
I have a strange problem.
When I stream any video with stock video player, mx player or from browser (HTML5), I get only sound. See no video.
Only Vplayer displays video, but this does not solve my problem cause I watch online movies from HTML5.
I didn't have this problem with my previous HTC One X. So I'm sure the sites I watch movies from are compatible with Android.
Anyone had this problem? Any solutions?
BTW, if I stream with stock video player it displays a message saying "Playind audio data only"
Any help will be appreciated
My device is not unlocked, I'm on stock ROM.

I don't know if it works on Mac but I use handbrake on Windows, check it out

Have you tried viewing using MX Player? I don't have an m4v file to test, but if it works it would save you a lot of time.
I also have the same problem, I tried mx and it still didn't work. Any other suggestions.

VLC player has played everything I've thrown at it. If you google VLC Android Nightlies you should be able to track down the appropriate apk.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll start trying some of them out.

As of yet none of the suggestions have worked for me. So I'm still on the hunt for a program that will work.

When using MX Player, change the audio setting to use the SW decoder. It seems to work for me. I'm guessing the One has a bug in the hardware accelerated audio decoder.
