I have a bunch of movies that I want to put on my nee One but they are all m4v and the One doesn't support that type. Does anyone have a really good coverting application for mac that I can use to fix this problem?

Have you tried viewing using MX Player? I don't have an m4v file to test, but if it works it would save you a lot of time.
I also have the same problem, I tried mx and it still didn't work. Any other suggestions.

VLC player has played everything I've thrown at it. If you google VLC Android Nightlies you should be able to track down the appropriate apk.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll start trying some of them out.

As of yet none of the suggestions have worked for me. So I'm still on the hunt for a program that will work.

When using MX Player, change the audio setting to use the SW decoder. It seems to work for me. I'm guessing the One has a bug in the hardware accelerated audio decoder.

The video app that is packaged with CM7 doesn't display the videos saved on my SD card. I also tried iMediaShare and I had the same problem. Is there an option or an app that will do a scan of the SD card for videos?

MX Video Player works the best for me.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the input.
Edit: It works fine to find my videos but still doesn't help with getting them to show in other apps.

Maybe they're on a not supported and weird format?
Yeah I was Googling a bit and saw something about native formats. Looks like I have to convert my videos if I want to use them.

I got my S3 today.
I have a strange problem.
When I stream any video with stock video player, mx player or from browser (HTML5), I get only sound. See no video.
Only Vplayer displays video, but this does not solve my problem cause I watch online movies from HTML5.
I didn't have this problem with my previous HTC One X. So I'm sure the sites I watch movies from are compatible with Android.
Anyone had this problem? Any solutions?
BTW, if I stream with stock video player it displays a message saying "Playind audio data only"
Any help will be appreciated
My device is not unlocked, I'm on stock ROM.

Solved with Omega ROM.
A little backround info about the youtube app for the Evo 3D: If you download youtube from google play(doesn't matter if you're rooted or not), it will not play HD(High Definition) video; only HQ(High Quality). If you haven't noticed already, HQ isn't really much different than the normal video. The reason it doesn't play HD is that our device's screen is not technically considered an HD screen because of the pixel density(Evo 3D is qHD:960X540 HD is 1280X720). However, HD videos play fantastically on our device, so Google fails for not allowing youtube to upscale to HD. Fortunately, there's a fix for this. For those of you who want youtube videos to play in 720p HD(not sure why you wouldn't...), instead of crappy HQ, I have a working apk attached. Simply download, put on your sd card, and install like you would any other third party apk, and if you have youtube installed already, or if it came embedded in your rom, just say ok or yes when it asks if you want to replace the system app. I've installed it myself and tested it, and there are no weird bugs, glitches, discoloring, missing lines, cut off portions, weird aspect ratio, etc. It works flawlessly, and any video shot in HD looks crystal clear. Came from beneath-a-burning-turtle's Common Sense 1.7 rom, so thank him, not me.
Wow! What a difference! I thought that the video quality could have been better on YouTube. Now it is. WAY better! Thanks allot!

I see no reason why it wouldn't, it's just an apk. Give it a try, if it doesn't work, uninstall it and re-install the one from the play store

Here's my problem.
Once I downloaded it and tried to install it, it gave me an error message saying that the install was not done because a package with the same name already exists.
How do I get past this? Also, how can you move to card after download, but before install? Do you need a pc for that (which I am not by at the present)?

You need to delete the original from system/app, then put the HD one in, and make sure the permissions are set right (rw-r--r--) I recommend using root explorer, its a dollar or two on the market, but its worth it

Go to settings>security and make sure unknown sources is checked then try again. If it says 'this will replace a system app do you still want to install?' click ok and it should install, if not uninstall the youtube that's already on your device, if you can't then just root your phone.

I'm looking for an app that you can watch movies for free. I found one called peliculas hd. But, the picture doesn't come through really clear with my mhl/hdmi adapter. Any suggestions? Please nobody say Netflix. LOL. I would have to be a caveman if I wasn't aware of Netflix.

You can try the official version @ xbmc.org, it's an apk that's installed normally. Or you can go HERE and find a "nightly" community optimized version. I use the latter and I've no complaints.
tv portal in the app store is coming up!
dice player used to play anything i threw at it on my sprint evo lte, now on my one it seems to just crash everytime i play anything. ive tried rockplayer and i dont like it. so i ask all of you the question that has been asked before, what is a good movie player that can handle hd. preferably an app with no ads, paid apps are welcome too. thanks

Download vlc straight from a Google search of the apk. I think originally vlc was only available on European devices. I just tried looking on play store and it told me not available in my country and I'm in the US
