[Q] Screen Always on When on USB - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I have a new Samsung G S2 from AT&T. I still have the stock ROM and I haven't rooted it yet.
My problem is when I put the phone on charge at night, I turn the screen off. Some event during the night causes the screen to come back on and it never goes back off. I have searched around the internet and know that normally you can go to Setting\Applications\ Development\USB Stay Awake. For the stock ROM USB Stay awake doesn't exist, but I do know that if the screen is on with USB attached for charging, the screen will never timeout.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

You might want to look at the apps you have installed. Some will force the screen to stay awake. I had to install a widget to keep the screen awake while powered on since there was no option in stock to keep it awake.

[Q] Screen Stay On During Charging

I have a galaxy s3 from Sprint. The screen stays on while charging. It simply comes right back on if I manually turn it off. I look through all possible setting but I can't figure out how I could get it to turn off. Can anyone help me?
My Telus model turns the screen on when I first plug the device in, and again when the charge is complete, but in both cases the screen is turned off 10-15 seconds later.
Have you tried another cable? I could see it staying on if there's a bad connection and it keeps thinking that the cable is getting unplugged/replugged.

[Q] Auto Power on when connected to charger

Subject says it all. Is this possible with the evo 4g lte? I want to use it as a GPS in my car and just have it power on with the car. I've done a lot of searching and it looks like some samsungs can do this but the functionality is in the boot loader or hardware? So my question is can the evo do this out of the box? if no, can it do it with TWRP or CWM? and/or does cyanogenmod add this functionality? thanks a lot.
Now, when you say "power on," are referring to the screen that is off while the phone is sleeping, or do you mean completely off?
AOSP roms do have the option to turn on the fly screen when you plug it in. Also, as of the new firmware release from HTC that came with Sense 5.0, or phones now turn the screen on when you plug in the charger (at least mine does...I never asked around to confirm this). But in both conditions, the device is powered on, but sleeping.

no I'm talking fully powered off. I guess I assumed a screen off sleep wouldn't last for like 3-4 days. Do you think that is possible? airplane mode enabled except wifi(no cell/BT) and screen off sleep. will that last 3 days? so that would be 3 days till power is resumed to charge it to full?
thanks for the feedback.

[Q] Screens lights on and drains battery

Hi,
Since a few weeks, I've been facing a very annoying problem. I have a samsung Galaxy S3 mini with cyanogen mod 11.0.
When I lock my phone, the screens lights off (as it is supposed to). But about every 30 seconds, it lights on, displaying the lock screen. Then it lights off, and starts the process again. Finally, my battery is being drained. It takes 4 hours to use 50% of my battery.
So I installed Wake lock detector to find the problem, but I cannot find anything relevant, so I cannot really debug by myself.
Could you give me a hand and tell me what I have to look for ?
Thanks.
UP. This issue is really annoying.
Am I in the right section at least ?
Ok, actually the bug is occuring only when the phone is not on AC.
When plugged, it behaves normally. So I wonder, is there a way to make the phone believe that it is on AC ?

[Q] Screen Pulses on and off when fully charged

Hello incredibly helpful internet people! NEW ROM NEW PROBLEMS!
So I love my experia z, but it has a problem. When it has become fully charged 87% charged, it wakes from sleep, turns on the screen. The screen then dims and goes black like it's going back to sleep only to instantly wake up again. This even happens if I press the power button to lock it. The processor seems to run hot during this time for hours at night while my phone is charging which can't be good, and I can't charge to 100%. In other news my phone turns on by itself when you turn it off. So my guess is that I have a buggered USB connection somewhere?
Any ideas what this could be? I had this on a SlimKat, and now on scrubber port.
Thanks!
Hello.
Try to change usb cable/ charger.
Are you even using stock one?
But before that I would recommend to check on your software, maybe some of the programs causing wake locks.
You can search for "wake locks", maybe you will something useful.

Is it possible to hard brick an android phone that has a completely stock rom?

My Galaxy Alpha was completely stock and I only had a few 3rd party Play store apps installed. I had not done anything to the phone, no rooting (was unlocked from factory), no odin, no recovery mode, nothing.
I charged my phone overnight and used it when I got up. I left it on top of my bed and left the room.
I came back to get my phone and my wife said she found it under the blanket and that is was warm.
I looked at my phone and I saw the blue notification light was on. I hit the power button to turn the screen on but the screen did not respond. I reseated the battery but my phone is a brick.
Wifi was on and the phone was set to only update firmware on wifi but my phone was also setup to kill wifi if the screen was locked.
I will get a new phone but I would like to get my stuff off of my old phone.
Thanks!

Looks Like A Hardware Damage :/ Probably problem in display (Completely Turned Off) Due to short circuit or may be another reason but i am sure it is not a software side problem
