I have a rooted EVO 3D (gingerbread 2.3.4). Whenever I pinch to zoom (in my default browser or Dolphin browser), as zoom as I lift my fingers, the screen blinks and recenters to the left margin of where it was (the vertical position and zoom level remains the same though). This does not happen in the Opera mini browser but I don't want to restrict myself to Opera.
Is there some setting I can change to keep this from happening?

Hey guys, I have an SGS2 running KG6 (rooted and flashed back the official KG6 firmware). I have an issue with the stock browser where if I try to scroll or even do the two finger zoom in/out, it won't animate the scrolling action, or the zooming action. It'll just load the page directly. It's like its constantly on precise scrolling.
Is there any way to fix this?
Hello,
I'm new on this forum, and I didn't have find answer to my question on the previous thread, so I open a new one.
Since the upgrade from android 2.3.3 to 2.3.6 (and now on ICS 4.0.3.) (all official ROM for Samsung), one of the functionality of the browser does not work anymore:
Previously with a double tap on the screen, the browser zoom to fix the width of the paragraph and allow scrolling only on the vertical axis, locking the horizontal movement.
Now, the zoom doesn’t fix to the width of the paragraph anymore and scrolling is in both directions… It’s not easy to read a web page with this zooming and scrolling feature.
So first of all, have I missed an option some were? If not, is there application or other browser providing this feature?

This is a leaked ICS 4.0.3 can call it beta. Official will be coming next month.
Regarding stock browser. Open Browser - Settings (Menu) ->Advanced -> scroll down to Auto-fit pages . Tick that box.
Restart browser.
The pages should now only able to scroll up & down.
And dont request desktop site from browser to avoid the horizontal scroll issue
Thanks for your answer, it partially fixed the problem of the zoom, but did not solve the problem of scrolling.
I have found a partial solution with Dolphin HD : I use the fit to screen and adress the scrolling on the volume button, but it's not as convenient as the utilisation of the touchscreen.

I believe you have to uncheck "auto-fit page" in settings
Hope that helps

Thanks...but....where is "auto fit page" in settings?
On my particular phone, auto fit is nowhere to be found. In the stock internet browser for the evo 3d, I went to Menu > More > Settings and there is no "Auto-fit" option, which is where everybody says it can be found.
Apparently HTC has removed that option from their version of the stock Android browser?
For some reason when i pinch to zoom in on a photo in my gallery, the screen goes black. If i hit the back button or i pinch back in to shrink the photo it will come back.
Pinch to zoom works fine in messages and also in the browser. My g/f and i have the same phone, unrooted, with the same # of apps disabled. Her's is working fine and i can't track down the issue.
Anyone have this issue? It's frustrating.
Is there a way to change the pinch zoom, so the location and the gesture would be in a specific spot with specific motion to zoom in (go up) and zoom out (go down) like this:
http://i62.tinypic.com/ose3cp.jpg
and it would zoom in and out in the middle of a the screen kind of like google maps
If there is way how about presetting the zoom percentage so if my gesture idea worked I can preset the range of zoom . Would this work across the board or needs programming in each app?
If not, maybe there is a way to use a pie control where each section of the pie is mapped with a zoom function so you can progressively zoom in and out.
Cheers
There's no real way to do this universally -- each app must implement one touch zooming. I'd suggest contacting the apps' developers.
