[Q] Moving dockbar to top possible? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I posted the below question in the Photon 4G forums and only got 1 response.
Anyone know if there is an app, launcher, mod, anything that will allow me to move my dockbar to the top of the screen, below the notification bar? Is it even possible?
The response was that it might be possible in ADW. I did some research, but couldn't find an answer if moving the dockbar is possible in ADW or with anything else. I thought the wider Android audience might know for sure. Or, would it take a new ROM?
Thanks!

Have you tried other Launchers? Go Launcher, ADW, Launcher Pro, ICS Launcher.

I currently use Launcher Pro and have played around with Go. Have not tried ICS, but will look into it.
I'm going with an assumption that the bar cannot be moved, as searching with Google could not find an answer.

[Q] newbie questions about honeycomb

Just got the GT 10.1 2 days ago, have been doing a lot of reading on this forum. I have a couple questions that I think some f you would have quick answers.
1. About ADW launcher EX, it appears many recommend this as a replacement the stock home screen. My question is, what would happen to the stock home screen (existing icons, widegets) after ADW is installed? What happens when you uninstall ADW?
2. About rooting, this is a tough one, after reading hours on this forum and other website. There seemed to be many different guides out there, linking different files needed to be downloaded and executed. Also, it's not clear which is applicable to the latest firmwire with touchwiz and honeycomb 3.1.
I only want to root to get access to /system/app and install some widgets. That is, not interested in custom rom. In fact I want to keep mine as stock as possible, so I won't have problem with the next OTA firmware update.
Any suggestions guys?
1. if you uninstall adw it will just revert back to stock. you can have both and switch from time to time by just doing "clear defaults" on the "launch by default" in the app settings.
2. first post in the development area by Lorddeff07 is updated regularly. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089
Do not have any worries about adw. You don't even have to set adw as your default launcher, so that everytime you hit the home key you will be given the option of which launcher you want to use. I personally could never go back to stock launcher after adw.
As far as rooting, I would read more about it and watch some YouTube videos before you attempt that. If your apprehensive to something like a launcher I don't think your ready to be messing around with rooting the tab just yet. I am debating to root myself just so I can have a black taskbar on touchwiz. If it wasn't for the grey taskbar I don't think I ever would really need to root.

No custom dock ADW EX launcher?

I bought ADW EX launcher from the market quite a while ago. Through updating and switching devices, I now have no option to set a custom dock background. The option to pick a custom dock doesn't even show up in the settings menu, goes straight from Dock style to desktop dots. I have installed, reinstalled, wiped, etc. Any ideas....am I going mad? Thanks guys!
Maybe it's removed? I don't have it either

Find v1.3.3. There is this option.

Try
ADW Settings > Themes and Preferences > Main Dock > Custom > Gallery
Thats where it is on v1.3.3.1
Nevermind....found it. I couldn't find in the change log where it said it was moved, but you have to go into themes>main dock...you can customize it from there. Need to look a little closer next time. Oops. Thanks guys!

There is a problem with 480*800 resolution?I have and HD2,so it's important for me. sorry but I don't know anything of ADW can you explain me?
I also hate the way ADW sorts the app drawer. In stead of allowing you to simply hide apps like Go and LPP do it makes you set up groups... Personally I like Go better because it has all the features of LPP and ADW that I like put together.
Dumb Dev....
Removed ability to hide dock- stupid. - use Go instead

No, it's still there . All you need to do is long press the screen, select "Launcher Actions", then scroll to "Open/close Dockbar".

[Q] ADW launcher with default app drawer

Hello, sorry for asking this question.
But is it possible to have ADW launcher have the default app drawer or are the launcher and appdrawer tied together. eg you can only have one or the other. The device in question is the motorola xoom wifi. I didn't post this in the xoom forums because its more of a general android question concerning launchers on a tablet then it is a device specific question.
Reason being is because I enjoy having ADW launcher's ability to take up the full screen on my xoom as opposed to have the columns on either side where you cant place app (wasted screen real estate if you ask me, since theirs no need for a tapping area when you can swipe to change screens). But at the same time I very much enjoy the ICS app drawer and being able to see a visual representation of my widgets and what not.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have both the ICS app drawer and a custom launcher? By this I mean to have the custom launcher home screen and the default appdrawer? I have googled but I haven't found an answer Thats why im asking. I don't know enough about android to figure it out on my own, So can you have both your cake and eat it too? Or is the homescreen tied to their respective launchers. Eg you cant have the default app drawer without also using the default homescreen launcher? Or is it possible to mix and match app drawer's with a launcher. my initial feeling is that they're tied together, But considering im sure someone else has wondered this before, I thought I would ask. I hope I explained this well enough. Thank you all in advance for your replies and any help rendered.

Edit; Clarified.
ya i was browsing for the same thing on the market. no luck though.

[Q] Favorite apps for modding your homescreen

Hey Guys,
I'm looking for some cool apps & widgets to mod my homescreen.
Right now, I'm using Apex launcher (I think that's the best out there), Minimal Text, Widgetsoid and Recast (Look for it on XDA; It's a weather/clock-widget).
Furthermore, I'm using Widgetlocker for my Lockscreen, because I was sick of the standard HTC-Theme.
Now tell me your favorite Apps
Best regards
