Okay so I bought an HTC inspire from AT&T about 6 months ago. I loved it of course and I rooted it. It turned out perfectly fine and in order to get root I had to format my micro SD. Now, I broke my Inspire because i dropped it and cracked the screen. I bought an used Aria from a friend. It's unrooted and i put my formatted micro SD card in it. The question is, do i need to reformat it to be able to root the Aria? and can you reset the micro SD to stock?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

No you don't need to reformat it. What do you mean by: "reset the micro SD to stock"?
P.S.: You should have posted this in the Aria's forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=680.
it should be must post to right forum move it please

So i can normally go through all the steps again to root my Aria?

Yes you can. I recommended you take out your important data and make a backup. As maybe some of your apps is moved to SD, it can't be used anymore. So it will just waste your storage there.

If I use anything other then CWM 5.0.2.6, I can not mount my SD card. This happened right after I S-OFF. I even tried the new 4EXT (paid 3 bucks) and I still can not mount the SD Card. But the internal SD card gets mounted automatically even when it says its not mounted.
How can I fix this?
I already SuperCID and I S-OFF as well. I was runing ICS 4.0.3 Leak but I just recently installed Revolution 4.0.3 rom.
Use recovery to reformat your sd card, then it should be recognized again.

I had the same issue, plug in your sd card into your computer, format it with the default settings, and then it will work fine, if you want an extra precaution, format it again in your recovery after you followed these steps

Make sure you format your SD card in FAT32 .... ON your computer if possible....
I have been having SD card troubles myself.
If everything ppl are telling you on here doesn't work, try buying a 2GB card and trying it out.

Hello Everyone!
I partitioned my SD card back when I had my Nexus One. Now, I'm interested in reversing that process. I just recently rooted, unlocked, and flashed my phone. Unfortunately, CWM doesn't offer an option to partition my SD card. How does one do that these days? I just want my SD card to be unpartitioned.
Thanks
Chump
You should be able to format the sd card form the phone itself, like going to menu, settings, storage, dismount sd card then format sd card, I think this removes partitions, also destroying all data in the card.

Backup sdcard contents to computer. On computer delete all partitions, then you will have one big unallocated space. Create a new partition using all available space. Copy backed up data back onto sdcard. Put back in phone.

I use minitool partition wizard.
Remember to format as primary, fat32 and then apply,

+1 as the standard windows partition tool does not delete the 2nd partition. You will lose everything on the 2nd partition as even with mini tool you can't access it, only delete it and format it.
Oh, exactly.. make sure to back up any important data.

To be honest, yeah. It's cool that he revived it. I am sitting here with a soft bricked Samsung Infuse and can't find a lick of information that is even slightly useful to me. I'm welcome to all new information and answers that could potentially help me. Why waste your time complaining that someone revived a thread? Got nothing better to do with your life, I see... Why are you trying to make an argument about a bricked device, unpartitioning an sd card (removable storage), and a thread that I haven't even looked at or read or anything since May (its now Nov)? and fyi, a quick search of your problem gave me this http://www.androidnectar.com/fix-bricked-samsung-infuse-how-to/ you're welcome. I want to root my Galaxy S2 without changing kernel version and found the solution at the link above, but I have no micro SD card available. Is there another way to do it without a card?
And I quote
" Choose install zip from sdcard or external SD"
In other words phone memory or sd card also I would like to ask do you really need root if you didn't notice the instructions

Yes I need root.
And, maybe I have a different recoverymeny, cause I can only select to browse external SD card or Cache. I cannot select "sdcard" or phone memory or anything else that is browsable.
Talk about idiot i cant read lol it has to be done via external sd, there cheap enough, near enough all phones use them cant u borrow one for half hour
If you need it that bad flash a kernel

Wow! thanks for welcoming me to the forum by calling me an idiot! I feel very welcome here.. not! I hope you get a warning from the moderators.
Of course I can read, it clearly says to use an SD-card, that I understand, but since I don't have any micro SD card I just asked if there is another way. I want to root my phone without using an SD-card and without modifying the kernel.
I you know a way, please respond, but if you are here just to call people idiots then maybe you are in the wrong forum.
So i called myself an idiot for not being able to read as i read the thread you linked wrong and i insulted myself but you couldn't read that go figure.
Secondly you have a couple of options to root grab a cheap micro sd or use a insecure kernel, but as most people on here want spoon feeding everything nowadays because they can't be bothered to read if it could be done a different way it would have a thread if you can't post in that thread go in off topic and post till you have met the requirements to be able to post in certain threads.

Hello!
I am new to Fascinate, but have plenty of experience with the htc flyer. I have 3 questions to ask (searched but still confused, this forum is so much bigger than the flyers, not entirely sure where to look
1. What all do I install with odin for miui 4? I have odin and samsumg drivers, but not sure about everything I need to flash in irder for miui 4. Root first or what? Running 2.2.2 with a baseband: s:i500.04 v:ed05
2. Where is the internal storage of this phone? Does it exist? I know apps are installed in a separste directory, but other than that, I cannot load any files without an sd card. I thought this has 16gb of internal, and settings says I have 1.45 of imternal left when all I see without the card is the 5 apps ive installed?
3. Ok so my fascinate is deactivated, running with no mobile data just wifi. I got it from a friend who used to use this phone, and I just wanted another android to tool around with, no imtentions on activating since I just cant afford a data plan. Will miui 4 run on a deactivated phone?
Thanks!!! Sorry if these are noob questions and several of them for that matter, the forum for this phone is just so overwhelming, I didnt know where to start!

Hello! I'm new to this website and new to rooting tablets. I want to root my Nook tablet, I have model no.BNTV250. I was wondering if this was possible, and what would be the best way to go about it. I've been looking all over the internet but I can't seem to find an explanation. This site seems to be the best I've seem to answering my question. If there is a thread here for rooting it, please point in the right direction. I do apologize if i posted this in the wrong section! Thanks!

Welcome.
You have a few options.
You can continue to run the internal (eMMC) stock B&N ROM with modifications like root. Running a small tablet like this is considered by many to be less than ideal. The interface is clunky.
You can replace the internal (eMMC) stock B&N ROM with a full, rooted version of android. What you get is an experience much like many tablets available (Nexus 7), with the main difference that many of those other tablets also have cameras and bluetooth, and the Nook Tablet doesn't.
You can create a bootable microSD card with a full, rooted version of android. If you have a spare microSD card kicking around, this gives you the option of trying the full android experience without actually modifying anything on the internal eMMC storage. Take out the microSD card, reboot, and you're back to stock. Put the microSD card in again whenever you want. Put in another microSD card with a different android ROM. Swap back and forth whenever you want. For this option, I think the smallest card you can use is a 2GB, but I could be wrong on that.
Decide which option you want and then we can discuss it further.

Thanks for the response!
I'd like to go with option 3. I followed a video I found on youtube that had the links to everything I needed, but then I realized it was actually for the the color reader and not for the BNTV250, which is what I have. I was hoping there was an option for the SD card Android method like the other model. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, and thanks again for the help and getting back to me.

This would have worked (the second paragraph method) but I do not understand all this formatting different partitions thing. I guess you have to do it, because the image file (IMG) I downloaded won't fit on my 2GB SD card. Maybe I need a bigger card? Or do I HAVE to do the partitions?
EDIT: I did the partition method exactly as described in the instructions and it's still telling me I don't have enough enough space on my SD card. I don't understand why it keeps telling me this, because he said a few times you can use a 2GB card?
I can help... Let's start with identifying what OS your pc has and going over which instructions you performed.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on my PC, and I followed these instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36685310&postcount=1
I was following the second paragraph method (using the write image to SD card method)
My card was too small though. I need 1.87 GB and my card was only 1.86. I have a 4GB card handy so I'm going to try that out. I'm just wandering if I have to do the different partitions on the card or not, I already did it once but the image was too big for the card. I'm just not sure if I'm just using the write image option if i have to use the partition method. Either way it doesn't matter, since I do understand how to do it now. Thanks again!
The second paragraph links to instructions you that don't require you to make partitions. You need to be more specific about which steps you did.

I figured it out actually. The last thing I'm trying to figure out is how to expand the memory for installing apps. I'm using a 4GB SD card, but there's almost 2gb (like 1.86GB) left on the card not being used for anything. I'm trying to figure out how I can make use of that for more storage for apps. I'm looking up and down the instructions, and he said you can expand the memory, but it doesn't say how.
